Went down this weekend and set some lines, caught and 8 1/2 Blue, and and 8 1/2 a few smaller channels, and some how a little tiny white bass . I used live shad for bait. I was wondering how some of you guys like to hook shad or perch? seems like those live ones spin and spin until they are so wrapped up they cant go anywhere even with swivels...Mine were always getting tangled on the clip that hooks to the main line....Any thoughts or help would be appreciated
It I strongly enforced by the dude who runs the boat dock. We pulled up there once an he was practically running outside to make us by a permit and make sure the motor was the right size
It is growing by the day, The frog bite was on last weekend. I didnt even go out to the main lake, fished mainly around the nature center trails, lots of bass on beds and the moss is starting to get thick. Havent tried crappie to much this year, those suckers can be hard on that lake
HAHA good point, I think that maybe with all these new fancy methods people have just overlooked using somthing so simple lately. But after all what do i know....I did invent the night crawler though
I've ate fish out of springfield lake. They taste horrible be sure to catch and release them for me. No a thing wrong with tem except people and stories. Also heard there are man eating catfish the size of volkswagons under the darn. People hear things and just keep passing on the BS stories
I went for about an hour. Had tons of action on the frog. Prob 6 or 7 blow ups on it. Caught a couple on a shakey head and a zoom finesse worm. Didn't stay long. Tons I people everywhere and wind. So I went home and put together an old outboard that I rebuilt
Ill prob be down too. 14 landau w/ white outboard. I did have one nail a frog the other day. First frog bite I've had this year. Also caught one on a Carolina rigged yum dinger. Watermelon seed color
I fish down there 2 or 3 times a week for the last year and I have never seen one there. Def have seen people with stringers full of slot limit protected bass. Dumb shits were pretty much sitting under the sign that tells what you can and can't keep.
its real hard to float unless the water is up, right now would be a decent float....we used to put in at the YY bridge and float to D. about 4 miles there are some good holes of water with goggle eye and smallies. at normal level is more fishable as long as you dont mind dragging from pool to pool
i have bought 5 lews baitcasters this year, i used curados that i got from a buddy for a year and they are great and are 10 years old and still work great. The lews are def. are in the same category for the money. I have even bought a couple refurbished lews from sportsman factory outlet and they work great. They even give you a 30 day warranty on the refurbs.
We used to gig for suckers above the darn at linden. And we would see a few pickerel in there. None were very big. There are even a few crappie up there
I hear ya. I have seen the whitewater rescue team down there with 40 horse jets and bass pro puts pontoons with 60's in during there spring classic. I feel like I know the shallow spots better than those guys
I'm guilty I have a 9.9. But I always idle when I pass anybody even bank fisherman. I had an old 9.9 laying around so that's what I use. I didn't have a guy with a 6 horse new Yamaha on a bigger boat pass me the other day so I'm not to worried
If i was having trouble paying bills i would prob apply for a job and not enter a bass tourney, a gift card would work for me i spend 1000's on tackle and rods and boat accessories anyhow. I like spending my money at Sportsmans factory outlet but they aren't open on weekends and sometimes i need stuff on sat and sunday or before 9 am
that is perfect for springfield lake, not trying to highjack the sell, but where did you get that trolling motor mount? and does it work well? I need somthing different for mine
I bet it was a chain pekeral. I've caught some in my throw net on the finely whole catching shiners. They look just like a Muskie 24" is the average adult size although I've never seen any that big in the Finley
