  1. It sure does help and I truly appreciate it!!
  2. Let me first say hello. My wife and I are from Nebraska and we LOVE your lakes down there!! There is nothing even close to them up here. We are trying to plan a trip to a different lake each year for our vacation and this year we are wanting to come to Bull Shoals. We went to Table Rock last year and had a absolute great time! I asked for help last year on this site and still can't thank the guys enough on the TR section for pointing us in the right direction. With that all said........my wife and I are wanting to plan a trip to Bull Shoals this spring. We are thinking about going to watch the last day of the BASS tourny and then stay the rest of the week to fish for fun. Do you think this a good idea/time to be there or would some other time be better for the fishing? Do you think with the BASS guys being there right before us that it might be crowded with people having the same idea as us to stay and fish? What are good places to stay at (nice but not overly expensive would be best)? Who all would be a good guide to hire for kind of showing us the ropes at first? We would like to focus on bass fishing if it makes a difference in what guide you would recommend. We will most definitely be wanting to spend most of our time fishing but what are some other things to do around the area? We stayed on Table Rock last year the first part of June (had a great time)! We did the Branson thing last year so we are looking for other things to do this year. We promise that all fish will be left in the lake safe and sound for you all to catch again. Any and all help will be GREATLY appreciated!!! I am going to post this on the other Bull Shoals part as I am not sure which part of the lake we should be staying at. If that is unacceptable please delete whichever post would be in the most wrong area. Thanks a ton, Dave

  4. While the wife and I were there we also had fish just slap at the topwater stuff. What worked really well for us was throwing a soft jerk bait in a black/silver. We would jerk it along the surface until we got it to the chasers and then let it fall right there. They would engulf it on the fall. We would also get some hits while jerking it along the surface as well. One other thing that worked for us was spooning the docks. There were times when they wouldn't hit the spoon but would hit a 3" paddletail swimbait on a 1/4oz head fished just like a spoon.
  5. The wife and I are back from our anniversary trip to Table Rock. We had a GREAT time!! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave us advice on what all to do while we were there!!
  6. The amount of sunlight/lack of water clarity definitely plays a role in a fish's colorization. An example of this is there is a couple farm ponds that I fish. When the water is dirty the largemouth turn a real light color with hardly any darker lateral line to them. When the water is clear (see 6-8 foot clarity) the largemouth will get really colored up with a dark lateral line. They can change back and forth colorwise in as little as 3 weeks or so.
  7. That looks interesting Bry. I will have to give that a try. Thanks for posting it.
  8. Looks like a heck of a catch and some good eating!!
  9. Thanks a bunch!!
  10. The wife and I are going to be picking up some Red Fins to bring along on our trip. My question is; what size do you all prefer?
  11. Thanks again everyone!! This has been a big help in us finding things to look into doing. We are really getting anxious to head that way!
  12. I have been plunking around on the computer some more and was wondering what you all think of the Branson Belle dinner/show cruise? Thank you all again very much for your input. It is greatly appreciated!!
  13. Thank you all very much!! Looks like there are some great ideas here. Trying to find time to do them all is going to be tuff with fishing most of the day first. We may have to make it a habit to get down that way more often.
  14. We are planning on mostly fishing but wanted some things to do at night. We are staying in a cabin on the lake around Kimberling City.
  15. Wife and I are going to Table Rock the first week of June for our 10th anniversary. We honeymooned on Table Rock and are staying on the lake again and doing a lot of fishing. We have a guide hired for the first day to help point us in the right direction on the fishing. We are going to the Dixie Stampede for sure one night. We will be fishing most of the day all week so we are looking for things to do mostly in the evenings. We would not be totally against taking one day off from fishing to sight see though. With that said; what all else would you recommend seeing/doing in and around the Branson area? What are the better steak houses in or around Branson/Kimberling City? When it gets closer any tips on the fishing in the Kimberling City area would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks for any and all ideas guys!!
