  8. sounds and looks good Scott! I will have to try it!
  9. hey Powerdive, how you doing! I was out for the first time on Monday. went to dc, had a good day. started out trolling cranks but those pesty bass kept bothering me, switched to crawlers and did good on the walleye, fish are scattered, but points were best. 20 ft was my best depth. I would think 2 to 3 ft deeper by next week. good luck if you get down there!

  17. Just got back from the mound city area. there was a fair #s of birds there so I did not have to go to SD, hunted 4 days and shot 22 snows, had a good time, and got rid of the itch, for a while anyways! I guess there are over 3 million birds in the rain water basin in Nebraska if anyone is heading that way.
  18. anybody been taking any out ? I am heading up to the mound city area on Tuesday. hopefully I wont have to go to the sw south Dakota area !
  19. I started some on 2-13,they are ranging from 1 to 5 inches now. im from WI, and this will be my first year trying to plant some veggies down here, with all this rock, I think I am going to try to do most in containers. I think I better check some old threads for tips for this area as the soil is lot different!
  20. I used to fish muskies quite a bit back in Wi. and I was surprised when I heard that lrg muskies preferred 23 to 28 in walleye! so I bet a 20lb walleye will take a 18 to 25 in walleye , and other good sized fish! only makes sense, only go after what you know is safe. and why waste time and energy on little appetizers when you can get the whole meal all at once!
  21. happy for you Moodyfour that your dogs were found! that's a terrible feeling to have, especially for a week! I had a springer just take off like that twice, it was also this time of year, he was a male, and I think his hormones kicked in this time of year and just went looking for a mate? I don't know if there is something to this with male dogs this time of year, but maybe something for guys to keep in mind ! glad yours are safe again! the power of prayer and GOD are so good!!! have a great day !
  22. this may sound stupid, but I am still learning this area. are those birds from up north that are getting pushed down with this weather or are they early migrators heading back north like the snow geese ?
  23. that sounds tasty !, if you ever get into the snows where you have a pile of meat, take them to your favorite processer and get brats and or sausage made. some of the best brats and sausage I have ever had ! I hope to be getting enough for a batch here soon!
  24. thanks Scott , and wow ! you got that close to that many snows ! they don't know how lucky they were do they ! lol . have a good day.
  25. hey f&f, thanks for the great info! looks like your water temps are in the upper 40's, what speed do you troll those flickers at this time of year? I want to try bull shoals here soon, and have not fished it this early before.
