  1. TY for the help gentlemen, will look into it
  2. Anywhere North or South of St Louis to bank fish? (and be safe ), was looking at where the rivers join north of the city. Going to a Cardinal/Pirate game Sept 1st (1:15) game and figured I would head somewhere afterwards. From Branson and do not know the area at all. Peace.
  3. Last year, catfishing off bank in Long Creek, had one come up to me and eat shad out of my hands, was nutz, he hung with me for an hour or so before scampering off, had no idea.
  4. Are there places to bankfish and get away from the public, might be going up there, suggestions welcomed.
  5. I spent twelve years up there, best place in the country.
  6. Myself and dad made a pac, first ten pound bass we would mount. First day or so we fished TR, I had one 9lb ,, he caught one little over 6lb at same time, off a tree by 86 bridge, we both threw em back. NEVER CAUGHT ANOTHER BIGGER. This was the mid 70's though. lol.
  7. Also be careful, lots of differant fishing rules, flies only, barbless only, be extra attentive to where you are fishing.
  8. Not sure when it opens, by the fishing bridge is Pelican Creek, its a hike, 12-15 miles round trip, have to be in at sunrise, out at sunset, great hike, good fishing if water will let ya fish it. Miss that area, lived in Jackson for 12 years, envy ya, wish I could go, came back to Branson to take care of mother pre nursing home, give me a holler, I know a few good places to check. But like one previous said, June is 'early' for that are with snow melt and such, especially this year. Might try under Jackson darn also, over the pass into Idaho and north are some great places also. Flag Ranch, area you can drive behind it, hike back and fish.....SO MUCH GOOD TIMES THERE I should take people out there from the area, show them places, be the 'local' guide lol.
  9. Lol just noticed you are from Rockaway, I was raised down by F and Bull Creek.
  10. Thanks for the tip, I just might go up there for the hell of it and try and find a place that isn't beat down my John Q Public ( some of them are scary ). Had to sell a boat to help pay for fathers funeral, now taking care of 86 year old mother that doesn't want to go to a home. ( Cannot blame here there ). So just like to travel around and find spots to fish off bank to get away, blow off steam. Hoping next week will be decent.
  11. Travel from Branson to river and at least find somewhere to drop; a line off the bank and find a cpl catfish without getting hassled? Want a few cats, and Branson is getting booring, want to get away. I like cats to eat sometimes, was to much hit and mostly miss here from bank. Guess between Jopin and north to KC would be my area.
  12. With weather and all who knows, cats should be up shallow and spwing. Did catch one 18 lb channel in Cricket Creek the other day, fun on 6 lb med rod. Darted like a bullet for awhile.
  13. Nutz, I have lived here for 40 years and yet to catch a trout in TR, I did move Wyoming, started stream fly fishing and sold boat, since I have been back I have yet to boat TR again, sucks since I grew up on that lake, but pay for and old mans funeral, take care of an 85 year old mother and boat dreams are gone. Still fish, just hunt and peck bank fishing, still fun to me. Used to drive to work in 80's at Ma Craig's Rest, get off, go straight to lake, five nights/days a week, miss it.
  14. SInce I have Mon/Tues off going to Springfield, going north from there to fish for the evening/night/morn, tell me where to go. Cats are preferable don't care from there, bank fishing though.
  15. So glad you have fun with your little buddy, used to fish with a guy that just screamed at his kid all day for even simple stuff (I couldn't set there and watch anymore so went back to my bank fishing), the kids just want to learn and have fun, GREAT JOB.
  16. Going to try Beaver, Swan, Dam area tomorrow, fingers crossed.
  17. He's got an OU hat on, gotta love those Oklahoma Cornhuskers Wish I could afford him and go out.
  18. Nice, I assume you might be talkin about those bigger, brown striped, chubs? As I remember as a kid anyhow, will try and find some. Asked about chubs today at work to a friend, he said "catching catfish?" lol. Have to net, time to go huntin.
  19. Took a drive last night went up brush creek and found a place off the bank. 2 nice channels anyhow, one was around 8+ plus. All on FREAKIN LIVERS lol, had a cpl nice hits on worms, lost one, cut bait, notta, prepared bait, notta. They all were rod bending hits which was weird, so little hookups. Just fished till 1130 pm or so, probably left before primetime. Gosh I miss, night boat fishing, going to have to find something, cheap boat, canoe, kayak, something lol.
  20. What do you do with Gar, are they that good eating? lol.
  21. Tryin to figure out which way I want to drive now lol, cpl hours I will be hitting the road, get out a little before dark and catch a few perch to cut up maybe. Or live lol.
  22. I fished that area this earlier this year for whites this year with a friend, sounds like he took me through the area your talking about, one place had a little pay a cpl bucks for entrance box that you could drive down to the river, think they might be up there? I know we sure slayed the whites there this year.
  23. Will give it a shot tomorrow night.
  24. You got it lol. Heading. Might try both places, I like to drive and have two nights, thanks for the tips.
