It's a flipper for sure. Skips well. Elaztech, so it takes some abuse to tear it up. Can run it on a jig after the head wears out. Doesn't cast well. Throws like a waffle. That might limit use on a rig or swing head.

At the risk of continued damage to my reputation... Bushes, spindly trees, anything else you can flip at. 5-8' is about right most places, with a few fish roaming outside the bushes. The occasional brown fish will show up full of hatred too. Better in warmer water, better with a little wind. Bait has to be close by. Presentation is pretty casual. Just keep it wet without great concern over precision.

As is the original version, who turns 16 tomorrow.

It is. Someone suggested it. It was easily the most out of tune bait I've seen out of the package. Line tie was a mess.

What area of the lake? Not much going in terms of topwater around Kimberling. Think the color just has that jacked up. Add a big rod and some type of creature to flip. 15#-20#, 5/16 bullet weight. Zman Palmetto Bugz is really working on that bite. Not a lot of bites, but you don't need to measure them. And only so many times you get the chance to flip brownies out of bushes.

One year. I made it all the way to Caboose last year.

Pretty decent around 13. Color is hit and miss. Not much debris today, had quite a bit when yesterday when they backed it up. Bite is fairly solid. Lost several degrees of temp last night. They didn't seem thrilled with that.

Still catching fish around Kimberling with eggs, and/or bedding. Good number mixed in that have clearly been on beds, but not all by any stretch.

That one is starting to think he's pretty salty, lol. So I took him in the wood to flip. Hee hee.

Fished about 5-6 hours with the short people yesterday and today. Catching them a couple of different ways. Decent flip bite in colored up water, 5'-8' or so. Few on big trees, few in bushes, more on little trees. Unique features are key...cuts, points in bushes, individual trees that break up a line, laydown mixed in, etc. Had seven keepers doing that yesterday. Couple of 3# blacks, even a few brown fish. Still a flip bite today, but they were touchy. Finesse, meaning Ned Rig, was the deal today. In the dirty water they aren't super deep, maybe 15' at the most. Most of those were in front of bushes, or on what should be the old bank. Best today was a 19" brownie W caught on the Ned. Managed the keeper slam today as well. Throwing the 1/8 in the lake, 1/16 in coves. Goby, GP red flake, Canada Craw. Several fish had pieces of craw in them today. Also caught a few on a 1/2 oz FB jig. Fish didn't seem to like the lake backing up today. Or they didn't like the inconsistency at least. Temps have been uniformly 79-80. Some places are "alive", lots of shad, fry, fish, turtles. Others look great but are dead spaces. Presence of bait pretty much points them out.

I tend to think you are right, at least until you bang one off a dock or a rock. Some of the up north originals were made with hard "blades", metal and such. My 90s are super inconsistent. Don't know if that is because they started making so many, so fast, but I have that idea. Like the counter rotating design on the BPS.

Tim's pic of this bait twisted my arm. Have to say it looks and feels pretty solid. Hooks seem decent too. Only concern I have is about the durability of the Plopper blades as they are hard, not flexible like the Whopper.

Sorry to hear that Bo. Hope she recovers well, and on schedule. Wondered if you were testing the night fishing with all the water.

It's the angle of the banks, plus wood. And of course the starving fish...

Had the same thought on the lake. Japan or Mexico, maybe. Saw it in Bass Blaster last week, I think? Some pro used it in a derby, FLW, if I recall correctly.
