  1. Other than the occasional large rock, I can't think of anything above the rebar that should worry you, as long as they aren't generating.
  2. It snowed here again this morning. I didn't count the flakes, but there were a few more than Thursday morning. I'd guess about a hundred.
  3. Don't overlook the hybrids. Flouro has two characteristics that are valuable at times. One is its neutrality in the water, but not everyone needs this because of the type of fishing being done. The other thing is its abrasion resistance, which most everyone can use. The hybrids with their flouro coating give you a mono with more abrasion resistance. P-Line CX and YoZuri are a couple that come to mind.I don't think line gets the attention it deserves sometimes.
  4. I think lines have come a long way, and they have certainly outrun the old lines that didn't have a good shelf life. If you take some care and don't leave your lines exposed to a lot of sun, electric motors, or heat, they last years if you buy good lines. The lines you listed should last years, with reasonable care. I'm using some braided line that is several years old and the P-Line CX I'm now using is starting its third year. I change line when it gets low enough on my reel to inhibit casting, which for me isn't real often because I change plastic more often then the terminal tackle.
  5. I like the braided lines for Jerkbaits for a couple of reasons. First is the fact they have virtually no stretch and it allows a good feel for those real light biters. The second thing is that it floats and remains somewhat straight on the pause, and I think this allows the bait to do its thing. I'm partial to Tuff XP and Power Pro in the 15# test. I also like a short rod for the same reason that SKMO does, working the tip close to the waters surface. I've never used anything but baitcasters and I don't think I would like a spinning rod for them.
  6. Does anyone have any information on the campground just North of McCall? I understand that the phone number on the sign isn't valid, thanks.
  7. Trust me, it'll be great.
  8. Hiway O leads to Hootentown from hiway 160 and Horse Creek rd. leads to Kerr access off of 176.
  9. E-Mail Minn-Kota, they'll tell you.
  10. I'll have to get down there and fish with you. I don't think I can offer much insight to what they're taking however. The last couple of times I've been down they weren't surfacing, or taking jigs. Which side are you hitting?
  11. Both on 165 close to the dam, and one at Lilly's that is certainly well stocked with merchandise and information.
  12. Actually I believe Brookies are the only trout native to Missouri. I believe, however that they died out a few thousand years ago. I have heard, but not sure how true it is, that Brookies are less tolerant to high temperature and to low DO. Cutts are another animals, but I'm not sure what advantage they might bring, other than for Taney where they might disperse better. I'm not sure about that report Brian. I've been around Kokanee and they don't get that big, and they aren't predators. They would however be a poor choice for Taney, at least in my experience with them.
  13. I think many of you are overlooking the fact that from Hazelwoods standpoint, there are few businesses that can draw from a wide area like a Cabela's. The taxes used to pay back bonds will be paid in large part by people who live outside the city. If you look at the original retail store in Nebraska, you'll see a small town that draws money from the interstate, money that they couldn't even dream of without Cabela's. Business taxes are paid by individuals, and one of the best uses is to enrich those individuals locally. IMO.
  14. I guess I'm sentimental, I liked the Clydesdale colt.
  15. I was curious about the ? that keeps the bait from sliding off and how you get the bait threaded on the mono?
  16. Were they ever stocked in LOZ, or is that a trapped river strain?
  17. Do you get the accessories over the net, or locally?
  18. I'm a little puzzled. If a fish, like a Trout who always seem to be tentative about biting, takes the bait, why wouldn't the hook feel foreign to them if they feel it on their lips?
  19. I still think the test drive plan is ridicules. A riverine environment with people prone to anchor and drift to fish is no place to test a bass boat with a 225 Opitmax, or any other for that matter. I don't understand the commercial plan that BPS has. I have heard that the store is going to be primarily a fly fishing store, which I don't understand. I would think they would concentrate on the Bassing side, given the fact that there are already a good assortment of high quality fly shops, and virtually no stores serving the Table Rock fishermen.
  20. The last story I heard was that Missouri traded with a Northern state for some Walleyes that were stocked in BS, and they think there were some Yellow perch fry mixed in.
  21. Actually Sam I think you'll find they are very close in price because the Kinami is a smaller pack. BM, it depends on how you fish. Lizards seem to work well on Carolina rigs, Flukes and creature baits for flipping, etc. The two that I never leave without however are, swimming minnows and 4-6" worms. You can fish both in many different ways. If you fish TR, you have to carry Watermelon/Red.
  22. If this is what I think it is, it doesn't include fishing, or any activity that doesn't interfere with their activity. As I recall this has to do with blocking slip or something similar.
  23. Cooper Creek, Rockaway Beach, and Empire Park in Ozark Beach are all accessible. Empire is probably the nicest as far as a view goes, and it and Rockaway are probably the easiest to access because their entry is level. They were catching some from the fishing dock at Empire yesterday.
  24. These might help. Ozark Anglers Archives
  25. I think that is very similar, if not the same boat, as the Rogue River sold by Bass Pro. I know they put them on sale in the spring, around May I think. They aren't real expensive.
