  1. Whats the purpose of the tripod set up, as opposed to a rod holder of some kind?
  2. I have a 4 stroke that spends most of its time in the shop, if you consider one with Carburetors, don't, run!
  3. As a rule (I hate to say that) they don't generate on weekends. The fact that the weather forecast is warm and the TR power pool very low, you are probably safe in assuming they won't run the generators.
  4. Thats kind of tough to read CWF, when Cabin Fever keeps popping up.
  5. Maybe its just me, but over the years I've found that there seems to always be something being caught. I think the best time to be there is before the fishing report, if you know what I mean.
  6. With the low water and all, I wonder why all the Silver Bullets? I would think this time of year they would have lots of places to put them.
  7. They are hard to find this time of the year, but during warmer weather, the G'nade is a great place to wet a line.
  8. Defiantly Scuds and Midges.
  9. I still hope to see 2 regulations, all C&R in the wadeble water and that a fish has to be kept in contact with the water. I think barbless is more of a convenience than that harmfull to the fish. I could be wrong, but I pinch to make it easy for me to release.
  10. If you come into Branson from the East, on 76, watch for Fall Creek road which will go off to your left. Dogwood Inn is on the east side and there's an eatery called Billy Bob's, I believe, that is west of fall Creek road. Follow FCR until you come to a curve which allows you to bear left off of FCR. You'll see signs for Lilley's and Cooper Creek resorts. Take the first left after you leave FCR and you will deadend at MDC's Cooper Creek access.
  11. Equipment, flies? Did you wade or is this a shoreline fishery?
  12. Need a little more info, are you going to fish from a boat, want to fish from a boat, wade?? Don't know what you call cheap, but Branson and cheap aren't synonymous. If you want on the water, lots of cheap information and boat rentals, you might check a place called Lilley's.
  13. Pretty low, is it not. We're you fishing real close to Ozark?
  14. Well Ollie and I were there, but didn't find any others. Fishing was slow, but Ollie had some nice spurts on jigs and probably did as well as anybody.
  15. Powerdive, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Walleye, but as with Trout, I think there is a limit. LOZ has had them since the 50's at least, and BS has had Walleyes for probably as long and there has never been an explosion of interest in them. I think that if you look at your own club tourney's you can see they have a ways to go to draw a lot of attention. I just think instead of expanding them, they should concentrate on the lakes that show promise., and put some of that money, and the Trout money into more promising fish. I believe Hybrids are a better all round fish to get away from the Black Bass/Crappie mold. They're not that different than the Whites that people are used to, and if they become a problem, all they have to do is wait for them to die out, which they will.
  16. A friend of mine, he may post, who fishes streamers, etc that require stipping, says they twist on the strip. This may or may not affect your use, but its something to consider.
  17. Its not accessible by boat at this time. BS is too low to fish above River Run and the water depth in the Pothole is about 1'. As far as I know you can still get in at K Dock, with care, and Beaver. You should be aware that there are flats in the upper end that will take your prop if you're not careful.
  18. I hate to be the skeptic, but Walleyes, AKA Jack Salmon, have been in this state for decades and there just doesn't seem to be that much interest overall, hasn't been and I question if there will ever be. Rather than trying to turn every lake into a Walleye lake, I would rather see more emphasis on Stripers and Wipers if we need exotics.
  19. Take 86 to F, which is just past the bridge over roaring River, turn left, after you come into the park you will hit a "T", to the left on the hill is the new lodge, turn right and in a 1/4 mile (?) you will hit a "Y", bear right, cross the river and swing left to the native rock lodge.
  20. Taney Map This should get it, but if not, click lake maps then Taneycomo.
  21. I plan on being there, someone has to take pictures for Ollie.
  22. I just read a report by two Walleye fishermen who put in at Beaver, and fished to BH. They said they caught a couple of Bass on Rogues for their effort.
  23. Brian did you get your splice tool locally? "The George Harvey is a great formula to start with.. only 2 knots on your leaders" Are you referring to the 60/20/20?
  24. 1) I wouldn't have anything but a vise on a base. I can't see any reason for a clamp if it can be avoided. Spinning hair requires a stable vise, but there are bases that will allow it. 2) Thats to hold material out of your way. for instance ribbing material. You would put the rib material in the spring while you build the body, keeping it back and out of your way. 3) For all around, its real hard to beat a Renzetti Traveler. Its also very popular. I would check sources such as E-bay for one at a good price.
  25. No Walleye allowed out of Swan, unless there is a recent change.
