  1. I like throwing a KVD sexy dawg for wtd lure. Thats what I caught my largest smallie on. It was 20.5. Fishing with it I have also caught a few over 19 and numerous fish over 18. I like how it sits very high on the water
  2. Pretty sure it is clear waterproof box.I think maybe with the red rubber seal. I would have to ask him to find out for sure. Sorry I didn't get back to you quicker, my phone didn't survive a recent float.
  3. I have a little conservation lake close to my house that I fish a lot. Lots of times I keep the ones under the 12-15 " slot but usually release the ones that are over as they are pretty tough to come by.
  4. My brother and I live in the jefferson city area & will be working in farmington tommorow, then will have Wednesday & thursday off. We got the kayaks all packed up and ready for a 1 night 2 day trip.We are going to take the yaks to work with us, stay in farmington tommorow night and head out early Wednesday morning. I'm usually pretty good about planning a good trip for us but this is pretty short notice and I will not have a lot of time tommorow to research. We thought about doing bryant creek but we have done it before and would like to try something new. I know big river, black river, and the eleven point are all down that way but don't really know the area. We don't mind driving a ways if needed. Lookin for a trip somewhere between 17-25 miles. Targeting smallmouth (all catch & release) Any suggestions on where to go or outfitters to call would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks.
  5. My brother-n-law lost a tackle tray today on the huzzah. He thinks it was just above harpers slab. He is not a member on here but I told him I would post something for him. The tray is full of jig heads, hooks, and wieghts. I know it's a long shot but I figured it couldn't hurt to try. If someone finds it just pm me please. Thanks
  6. 21 incher! Nice!!
  7. Nice! I need to get on the black. Never done it before. Need to knock a couple new rivers off the list soon. Been thinking maybe big river. I been working close to farmington on top of stono mountain for the last week and I still got a couple weeks there. It's been killing me driving over big river every day on the way to work. Think I'm definitely gonna have to bring my pole and see if I can find some spots to wade after work.
  8. The brother here... To top it all off they were all on spooks! What more could you ask for!? We did catch some just before the riffles but it really seemed to me they could be just about anywhere. The 19 incher actually came on a bad cast and I picked him up basically out in the middle with no cover. The wood was definitely a hot spot though.
  9. I have been fishing the zoom horn toad and the ribbet frogs at the mdc lake close to my house for the last week. They been gobbling them up!

    Awesome looking fish!
  11. Not sure what happend last thursday, but it was bad. I talked to another angler when I was taking out and he said he only caught 1 Goggle eye So maybe just one of those days I guess. This is the only bad trip I have had there. I was making one trip a week for the previous 3 weeks and Killin em on topwater. Then the creek got very high and the water was just getting back down the day I got skunked.
  12. I floated blunts to bass thursday. Threw wtd, fluke and spinnerbait. 1 bite 0 fish.
  13. I agree on the rattlbaits. In my opinion they also get the most double hookups
  14. You are definitely right Joe D and thats why we do spend as much time on the water as possible. But we don't have much for smallmouth in our area so we have to drive a couple hours to fish for them. So when we are doing an 8 mile float 8 miles is all we got where as on a lake we can Fish for as long as we want. So the question was more directed at if you only have 6-8 hours to fish, is it better to fish early morning to late afternoon or early afternoon to late evening.
  15. Thanks for the info guys. Blauvelt3 is my brother and this is a topic we have discussed many times.
  16. I drove over the meramac in steelville this morning on my way to float fish the courtois. It was pretty muddy looking.
  17. Yes sir. I was the one sitting in the passenger seat talking with you in the parking lot. After reading your post I thought that may have been you. Well I guess I have officially met my first oaf member.
  18. Me and a couple buddies floated the piney monday. We did 8 miles and had very poor results. Three smallies and 1 LM. But hey, you can't beat ten bucks for a shuttle! We also used boiling springs
  19. I fish the lower Gasconade a lot and deal with jet boats all the time. Im fishing upper tommorow. Going from hazelgreen to 133, first time. Are you getting a lot of rain there this evening? Just wondering if it might affect the river by tommorow
  20. That's a big a$$ fish!! Looks HUGE in the video!
  21. So how was it? Been wanting to get on the courtois soon. My brother hit the mermac Saturday with pretty poor results.
  22. Really bummed I gotta miss this one. Good luck little bro!
  23. Eric, here is something I have done with bass river twice. I call them and tell them I want to float the courtois and I want to do it early. They gave me directions to the put in then they came and picked my truck up for me and had it waiting for me at their place when I was done. My brother has done this also. I have done the same thing with birds nest lodge on the meramec.
  24. Me and my brother both fished haha tonka in coosas. But with the water getting muddy just outside the Cove we put in at, we didn't have to far to paddle.
