Always thankful for your reports. This weekend at Big M I got a couple on the redfin on points and docks, several on the ned rig near bushes. And one meanmouth on a shakey head green pumpkin worm.
I tried the DS some... but have to spend some more time with it to get confidence.
I heard a saying one time... "There are two types of boat owners... those that have left the plug out and those that will."
Bought my boat used.. 20 years ago...took it for test drive etc. First trip out... it would not start...frustration anger, embarassment etc....Kill switch needed pushed in...
Still remember that day clearly.
On 6/8. Fished from 5:30 to 9:00. Caught 13. All on fin, fluke or yellow magic popper.
Had some bumps on finesse worm. Nothing on brush hog ,grub or wacky worm.
Fog was pretty thick. Wish I had more time.
I bought two carbonlites last fall.. like them... very lightweight...I broke one ... by my own foolish move... hung it between rail on boat and picked it up...Bass pro says they will replace since only owned since last october.
Bought a spinning rod and a worm rod. Really love the spinning rod... and like the worm rod...for some reason... my Falcon seems to be my favorite for the worm/jig rod.
The carbonlite is very light...hope this helps.
Thanks for the report... we had success last night in that area with the redfin.
By the way did anyone else see the guy trolling with his grandson over memorial day weekend... he cut between us and the shore.. and we were within casting distance of the shore.
Never flinched to wave etc.
don't know how deep they were suspended... I don't have my fish finder adjusted correctly.. could use some input... Lowrance Mark 5 2 years old.
Had the boat at times near the bluff/ point. 10 ft. deep.. throwing into 35 foot deep water.. at times we moved out over as much as 60 foot of water....wind was blowing.. many fish out much deeper than I would have dreamed.
Most fish were caught over 25 to 35 foot deep... with submerged timber
Caught 5 on wacky worm, and brush hog... then redfin bite was on. Main lake points... caught 36 mixture of LM and K's...Nice chunky fish...nothing over 2.5 pounds.
Didn't get the grub bite working and did catch a couple on yellow magic pop r.
First time to use the redfin.... was big fun.
Had three good mornings. Got started late. 6:15 or later each day and quit by 11:00. Yellow magic ale wife small popper worked great early. Smoke grub and Ned rig produced later as well as green pumpkin. Brush hog in the shallow areas.
Caught 51 total.
Thanks for the Ned rig info.
Getting ready for this weekend.. and debating on which area to fish... traffic will be higher in dam area....
Going to try the ned rig this weekend... from what I have read... fish on slack line...I assume they will load up most of the time ?? or will the bite be stronger??
Thanks
