  1. We are going on Tuesday you are more than welcome to come if you can.
  2. Last time I ate at the one in ozark I got hit right in the back of the head. Big deal. I picked it up and threw it right back at him.
  3. I have done this float a few times this year and the fishing for me has been awesome. Been catching goggle eye anywhere you can find chunk rock on yellow and red Ned rigs. Smallmouth were hitting small crank baits, the Ned, and tube baits. Look for some brush piles in deeper water and you might catch some crappie too. Good luck. If you have any questions let me know. I've been floating that stretch my whole life.
  4. One of the reasons I love to float from Delaware to shelvin is that I hardly see any other boats. Especially when I go in the middle of the week. Thanks for the reports guys. I've never floated below H.L. Kerr before. Gonna try to make that happen before it gets cold again.
  5. I've been having some of the best fishing I've ever had on the James lately. I can't be the only one fishing. Somebody give us a report!!!
  6. Bigger bait catches bigger fish boys!! That's totally my brother!!!
  7. Were you fishing near viola? Maybe Bigfoot took a bite out of him!?
  8. Thanks mopanfisher. Interesting article. Makes sense. I think I read something on the table rock forum about these Mohawk crappie before but I can't find it. I hope others will input on this as well.
  9. We put in at Delaware town yesterday about 11am. Starting fishing in front of the ramp and to my suprise we started catching white bass. They were small but a blast to catch. Caught some nice smallmouth on jigs between there and the bridge. Then another suprise... We started catching crappie. All from the same structure on bitsy tubes. Caught about a dozen or so. Some of the crappie had black stripes down the back of their head, does anybody know anything about this? After that we pretty much got poured on the rest of the trip. Had a boat fly by my canoe and barley missed me. We just about got swamped but I got the front of the canoe pointed towards the wake in time. The thing that bothered me most about that was they were drinking beer in glass bottles. The rain did not affect the fishing. All the biggest fish of the day were caught in the rain. Biggest smallmouth was 16in. Caught countless goggle eye as well. Had a great trip, we haven't been floating in weeks. Took some pics and released all fish to be caught another day. The river is perfect boys, get out there and enjoy it!!

  11. Cape fair marina posted that parking is limited but the area is clear of MOST debris and boats are launching there.
  12. I could possibly be floating that same stretch on Saturday depending on work and if the old lady will let me. If you see two guys on a green canoe say howdy.
  13. Use a mix of wheaties, fruit punch cool aid powder, and garlic powder. When I was a kid we used to slay the carp under the dam on this bait.
  14. Bass pro had some z man plastics on Sunday, but they were going fast. They were out of pb&j.
  15. Wanted to share with you guys one of the most enjoyable moments of my life. I was fishing my local river with my four year old a few days ago. I was casting a jig when I felt a big hit. I immediately handed the pole to Riley and told him fish on!! He started cranking and the fish took off. I had the drag set very loose and the reel started squealing. He looked at me very concerned and said ' I'm breaking it!' I said it's fine buddy just keep reeling!! After a respectable fight he landed his first smallmouth. He couldn't believe he had caught that fish. The smile on his face was priceless. Reminded me what fishing was all about. Not a bad fish for a four year old.
  16. Bass pro sells a similar shirt in safety yellow so people can see it well. Great for wearing on opening day at a trout park!
  17. Good point Ness, but me personally i wouldn't lose a minute of sleep if I HAD to shoot someone that was trying to harm me or my loved ones.
  18. Try champs nedfin. I heard it's a bass catchin machine!!!
  19. All the fish I caught out of shell knob last weekend were small. Don't feel bad.
  20. I talked to a local of the area yesterday and he told me all big bass he heard of being caught lately have been fishing boat docks. Is this what I need to concentrate on next time?
  21. Thanks for the report and congrats on the double. Glad you were able to get out.
  22. I got on the water at 630 am and fished from the bridge to point 21. Ned caught most of my fish but also picked up a few on shallow running crankbaits. My buddy and I caught about 20 bass, all spots and Browns. Funny thing is not a one of them were keepers. All were in the 6 to 10 inch range. I couldn't catch a keeper to save my life. Also caught multiple bluegill and sunfish that were huge. All in all a great trip. I can't complain. In the meantime I'm gonna try to figure out how to catch bigger fish!!
  23. I was invited to fish out of shell knob tomorrow morning and wondered if anybody had any reports or advice for me. It will be a 100% catch and release trip. Thanks guys!!!
  24. I float from hootentown to Kerr every year. The first 3 or 4 miles is the best fishing in my opinion. Did real good on that stretch last hear throwing dark green bitsy tubes. Caught a lot of goggle eye on purple and pink jigs. Good luck. Let us know how you do. And be careful. If a riffle looks dangerous, bank the boat and walk.
  25. Get the photo bucket app. Load your pic to the app then copy the img in your post. Works for me.
