  3. cure the depression by flipping the channel. fox cant get it right any way.
  4. gotta put my two cents in here. Know a guy that has one of these destroyer sized [at least a 40 footer] ships that pulls it with a Honda [that's right I said Honda] any way he had a friend backing it in to launch who managed to hit a telephone pole with the lower unit [THREE TIMES] before busting the lower unit case and all . estimated 8 to 10 grand to fix. B.T.W. it is 4 sale it has a 454 big block . lol
  5. My folks have a place just across from Bass Pro .when the old ramp was just below we would watch boats and cars back clear in more than once with just the roof of the vehicle sticking out of the water.
  6. yes, bad bluff move along . nothin but snags
  7. Fished 45 degree banks today. Couldn't buy a top water bite but caught a few shorts on pb&jelly jig with twin tail watermelon candy. 40 ft. seemed to be the number. all shorties but FAT toads. mostly jaws but a few smallies. I think it is fixin to bust loose. I AM MORE THAN READY!!
  8. Well ,after a closer inspection and a whole can of wd40 . Found a broken plastic keeper that holds casing so it won't travel with the cable after I took apart a piece that is stamped with "do not disassemble". now if I can come up with new keeper or "Rig" one. I'll be back in biz. with out spending 400 bucks. Glad I am "handy"
  9. yes ,one of them broke it would steer one direction but not correctly . It has always been kinda stiff to steer but especially this spring should have looked into it b- 4 this happened . has no grease zerks but new ones will. can't tell you how lucky I was not to be haulin a** AS USUALLY I AM! when all said and done had about an inch and a half of water on the floor boards ,tackle box flipped over and me pretty shook up . luckily got it shut down . will be wearing tether from now on. trolling motor got me in.... barley. got them out today and was a real pain. THANKS much for info, looks like about 4 bills.
  10. any suggestions on where to buy new teleflex steering cables? had one snap the other day VERY fortunate not going very fast! boat took very hard right and about threw me out . any way looking for new cables it is dual rack and pinion design. I suggest you lube those cables and wear vest and kill tether! this could have been a real bad deal.
  11. now you all got me wondering where my Fruit Of The Loom pocket ts fits into all this??
  12. I have less trouble with them hangin up than other jigs . gives the bait a little more action too I think.
  13. Well, I thought I had really pulled a good one but sounds like not all that un-common!!! interesting indeed!!
  14. my first in 13 years fishing the Rock.
  15. fished outta mill creek for a bit this morning. caught a few on wobble head then saw what I thought were whites swirlin the water so threw a white rooster tail at them and hooked up about a 3 lb trout!! had heard they were in t.r. but first I ever caught. old boy really hammered it and came outta right field so to speak{ wasn't in the swirl}is this common or un-common? b.t.w. beautiful healthy fish is still swimmin.
  16. I like the fat albert grub in smoke ,p&j , and salt and pepper yum dinger in ozark smoke. brush hog in the brown & purple speck, hula grub in watermelon candy, and watermelon candy trick worm. but I have got a BUNCH of other stuff in the boat that should be tossed lol caught me but not fish
  17. I found some nice slabs yesterday back in a Bridgeport cove.1/6 th head with black and blue or black and red grub. SLOW retrieve very lite bitters. I think they about to get it on. mine were full of eggs. hope we don't get this cold front they talkin about but...............sure was nice yesterday. tried it up Flat creek. and James side of 13 only one male. went to the cove late afternoon.
  18. i have a ram on my 597 that works great! can't afford two units so have it set up so can spin it to see from steering wheel or front chair. prob. not ideal butt works.
  19. ok thanks
  20. about how fast are you guys trolling with these??
  21. I use it a lot too not during the heat /madness of summer but spring and fall prob. two three times a week. so tax payer dollars built it quess it makes no differance if they just lock it up. Roads, tables ramp just there?again seems like major waste to me.
  22. I don't think a lot of people know about joe bald and it's very nice p gravel beach or peaceful tranquility. I also know it can't be costing much if anything to leave it open and un- maintained as it has been for at least ten years. so why such a rush to lock it up now?could it be something to do with the users pass to use the corps other ramps?or some other b-4 mentioned agenda? don't know but like I said to just lock it up seems wasteful even if only a few enjoy it.
  23. I live real close so truck gas aint bad unless they close Joe Bald. Depends where I go with the 'rude suckin it up but actually a day on the water cost me maybe 20 bucks not counting bait and stayin close.use the trollin motor a lot and that helps.
  24. don't know that anything needs to be done {don't see why it couldn't be] but to just lock it up? seems increedably wasteful. Some folks WANT to get away from the grid so to speak and rough it. Seems to me it has way more going for it than against. "G " may have it right an ulterior motive might be at play.
  25. Don't know " G " but i heard locked gate..seems like a major waste if that is what happens They have sewer system, rest rooms, good ramp, paved road and even pick nick tables on site. Hope it isn't so, close to the house and one of my favorite area to fish.
