NIGHT TIME IS THE BEST TIME TO FISH IN THE SUMMER, ESPECIALY DURING LABOR DAY WEEKEND. THE BIG BOATS ARE OUT CRUSING STARTING AT 9:00 AM SO YOU'LL NEED TO BE CAREFUL IF YOUR FISHING DURING THE DAY. VERY BIG WAVES AND DRUNKE DRIVERS OPERATING LARGE BOATS. I WOULDN'T START FISHING UNTIL ABOUT 7:30 PM AND FISH AS LONG AS YOU CAN STAY AWAKE. SINGLE BLADE THUMPER SPINNER BAITS, LARGE PLASTIC WORMS WITH A RATTLE INSERTED AND CHOMPERS IS WHAT I WOULD HAVE TIED ON. GOOD LUCK.

Then why do suspending jerk baits work well in clearer water?

20 inches at best, but it is one of the fatest I've seen. A trophy smallmouth for sure.

Weigh it, takes measurements, take a picture - as fast as you can, and have a replica made. Thats what I did with that 21 plus inch monster I caught. It doesn't look exactly the same, but when I see that fish hanging on the wall it serves as a great reminder. -
