  1. I've seen some nice cats caught just above Taylor but more towards the end of April
  2. Nice. How far up the river did you go? Might try to go this weekend .
  3. Maybe this rain will bring them up? Water level is still pretty low. Can you wade in the 215 bridge area?
  4. Letting it drift, small strips here and there no indicator. Cast up to the bank standing in the middle of the river up behind the timber in the slow water areas. You can wade several hundred yards below Taylor right now at least.
  5. I've heard of only a couple females caught with no ripe eggs. I caught 6 keeper males this morning below Taylor within sight of the bridge was there only a short time. Waders seem like the best method now. I was using a 1/80 oz gray jig on a fly rod. Saw no fish caught from bank.
  6. I was there at Taylor today, in the middle it is waist deep below the bridge. Most people were not catching except for the fly rod guys wading. Purple/ pink was tearing them up. Males are holding in holes below timber seemed like once they found them they kept pulling them from the same hole over and over. Expect a hard paddle back upstream in spots if in a canoe and your 7 year old son won't help:-) Oh and saw no fish caught above bridge all below.
  7. That's a bummer to hear. Were you fishing from shore or by boat?
  8. I did ok last year bouncing a white road runner down the middle of the river on the bottom drifting in my canoe.
  9. Curious about Taylor as well. Should I go to Taylor or Aldridge on Saturday ?
  10. Taylor is a several miles or so upstream from Aldrich. If you look on google maps it's the 2 nd bridge above river from the 123 bridge at Aldrich. Sac river road
  11. Nice to hear they are starting to move up. Can't wait to take my canoe to Taylor bridge in a week or two.
  12. 60 degree thunderstorms this week might turn em on I hope
  13. Dang I need to head up there!
  14. I did a bit of fishing around high point this morning. Tough day with the wind and not much biting. Tried shrimp, flicker shads deep, jigs, only caught one drum. My son and I swam to cool off though and had fun.
  15. Was in there today, good service!
  16. Saw some people slaying the catfish today just west of high point using shrimp for bait. Tied up to a tree just offshore in maybe 20 feet of water.
  17. I fished cedar ridge campground area today and couldn't buy a bite.. Tried shallow & deep cranks, jigs & night crawlers.
  18. I want to go back soon and try for catfish.
  19. Very nice catch.
  20. Fished out of the canoe this evening with my son. Didn't get a bite until after 6pm. Caught 5 whites (males) 3 drum and a perch drifting with a chartreuse road runner with A pink head. Got no bites below the bridge all fish caught above Taylor towards the first big gravel bank. Saw a guy with 3 nice catfish he said he caught in a short amount of time.
  21. I fished next bridge up river from 215 bridge last weekend water is shallow no luck. The one just south of morrisville. No luck at 215 either.
  22. Also forgot to say saw somebody cleaning about a 4 lb walleye under the bridge when we showed up.
  23. Floated from Taylor to Orleans bridge today in the canoe. Bite is definitely not as good as 2 weeks ago seems much less male white bass biting. Managed to land 5 sows a couple were huge and with eggs. Also got an 11 inch crappie. Caught about 8 crappie in total and threw 7 back. Two weeks ago white was the color to use, now chartreuse worked best. Big whites are hitting shallow lures rather than bottom bouncing lures. Fish were scattered above Taylor seemed about as good as below, we paddled up there as well. Best lure of the day was 1/16 chartreuse road runner with a red head, 2nd best was a chartreuse rooster tail. Was a great day to be on the water.
  24. Cedar ridge opens next weekend not sure on others.
  25. I fished at Taylor on Sat evening, they were biting pretty good just downstream from the bridge. Most were short but had a few keepers. I had to fish the middle of the river with a shallow fast retrieve. Used a 1/16 white roadrunner. Before that I tried upstream and only got 2 bites.
