Finally getting healed up enough to get out for an afternoon so I headed down to Delaware town and floated down under the bridge and paddled back to the truck. The bite was decent and the weather was good so all in all it was a great day to be on the river. Seen some turkeys, a ton of turtles, and a few ringed water snakes. I have included a pic of my Yak so if any of you see me on the river please stop and say Hello. Caught a few and took some of their pictures....Happy Fishing and enjoy!
  2. Yaknar glad to see you back on the river. I've been wanting to go bad but I fell a few weeks back and messed up one hand pretty good so I'm hoping to heal and get out there soon. Sorry about the rod, I feel your pain I lost a pretty nice rig last year coming out of Shelvin hole..flipped over and bye bye rod and reel. Great report and pics thanks for sharing, it helps to see the stories and see the river while I heal. Happy Fishing
  3. Thank You Phil for this addition to the page. It can become a powerful resource for all!
  4. A couple pics from Kerr Access and Galena 4/3/2015. The river was up and flowing with a lot of debris in the water. For future reference discharge rate is 11,900 cfps and a gauge height of 11.5 feet.
  5. I don't know if it helps but I can tell you the temp at Deleware town last weekend on Saturday was 43 degrees.

  7. Wow!!!!! that is awesome, I have never seen this....two fish one lure. Have you ever caught a fish that has a lure already in its mouth? I had one break off the other day and got me thinking of this.
  8. Thanks! I hope you can get out and catch a limit.
  9. Had so much fun on Monday I decided to go back and do it some more!!! The Bite is hot right now and I couldn't wait to set the hook again and the day did not disappoint. Went down to Blue Hole and back, turned em all loose to catch another day! The bite slowed to nothing as the day heated so get out early
  10. Had the day off so I thought I'd yak up above Delaware I went up to were the Wilson meets the James and back and had a little luck. All in all a good day, we really need some rain. As always all fish I catch I release back to enjoy another day. Took a few pics along the way enjoy!

  12. Thank you, Good Luck in the morning! The fishing was real strong right after sunrise and Yes Ill be looking for you guys, I always like to try and meet other forum members.
  13. All the smallies where caught on a small strike king crank bait white in the bottom lime green on the top. The large mouth was on a baby boo boyah watermelon colored jig with a watermelon 4" trailer. I parked at the farthest put in north and went up the river by the CU building and around the corner.
  14. Got up early and went for a little float/fish,it was a beautiful morning on the river. Haven't fished here since spring time but had a good time. Caught quite a few and snapped a few pics along the way, as always all fish where released. Enjoy!

Not sure about that far down but we fished from deleware to shelvin a few weeks back and had a great time. The fishing was hot on anything white and shiny small spinners, roster tails, white grubs, small crank baits. Good luck and tell us how it goes
  17. Yaknar, me and my buddy put in right behind you in the two camo colored Ascends we had similar luck.minus the gar. I was hoping to catch up to you and introduce myself because I always enjoy your posts. But after seeing you in the deep hole below the ramp we never seen you again, We had so much fun on Frtday we even grabbed another buddy and went back on Saturday, the fishing was decent but not as good as Friday. Thanks as always for sharing.
  18. Muskie Bob, Thank you so much for your time and effort that you have put towards this subject. It is nice to have a contact that we can share any future concerns that may occur while using Fellows Lake and Marina. I'm happy that communication and cooler heads have prevailed and hopefully with a few changes to signage and some increased awareness the situations that Richline and myself incurred will be a thing of the past and everyone can have relaxing days while enjoying the beautiful outdoors we are so blessed to live in and around. Only time will tell if this will help the Marina owners actions and attitude but I'm going to choose the high road and hope that it will be a positive experience for all as we move forward. Thanks Again and Happy, Relaxing, and amazing Fishing to All Dougie
  19. My experience happened last fall, it was my first trip ever to Fellows Lake and I chose not to share my story about last fall but when the original poster shared I thought I would share my experience with him. On that fall day I didn't set out to break any rules or to cause any commotion. I had made an honest mistake. After being scolded and demeaned by a man equal my age I then realized that it was indeed marked...the buoys are worn and are very hard to read and I don't believe it was marked handicapped fishing area or anything of the sorts. If this has become a problem for this "some guy who has the responsibility to enforce the rules" then maybe he should label/mark it better so patrons could see and understand the rules of the lake. I'm not saying my actions where right and if I break any rules that don't adhere to the set guidelines then I should be informed but it could have been handled in a professional manner. For you to reply here with your sarcasm and your stay away from the lake attitude is right in line with the marina operators attitude, its ugly, nonconstructive and unappreciated.
  20. The same thing happened to me last fall. Almost identical. The guy was screaming his head off at me. I had waited at the marina to get my yak tagged for 2 hours after sunrise because his hungover son overslept. The kid never explained any rules and then the Dad was the one who was doing the screaming. I paddled over and informed him of my situation with the hungover son and also shared with him I did not appreciate his tone with me. I haven't been back and wont unless I need a sticker. To the marina owner you are Very unprofessional, maybe with better signage you wouldn't have to act like a lunatic and demean your customers.
  21. Very nice video, love the underwater releases.
  22. I was at Delaware Town this evening and can add that the water is up about a 1' or more and moving. Very Muddy and nothing I threw got any action. I think we are expecting more rain Friday so plan accordingly.
  23. Alright that's more like it! Thanks for the welcome guys I'm located in Springfield and have been hitting the James at Creighton Access, Delaware Town and above Spfd Lake. Redear Sunfish...... Do you bait? Only when my wife is mad at me ) Are you a hoosier? Nope Mizzou Fan Do you think Fly fisherman are smarter? Haven't decided yet, if you have cut back on Golf to do this then yes I think that is smarter Have any 30$ Japanese Jerkbaits? No slowly building a little tackle up but this seems eXtreme Have you ever fried up a smallmouth? Yes, but am not a big fish eater, more a catch and release kinda guy Ever been gigging? Yes, years ago down around Hooten Town and had a blast.
