Hey fishin22....don't feel bad about the crankbait bite. 2 weeks ago it was wart heaven then this past weekend zilch ! For me they won't chase any moving baits , be it cranks or blades. I had a fantastic weekend throwing a Shakey head shallow out to 15 fow. They couldn't get enough of it. Look for chunk rock and/or gravel banks. Backs of coves were better for me. Hope this helps some.

Nice fish racer. Care to share what lures you caught them on ? And don't be like those derby boys and make something up....there's fish for everyone.

My son went up to Fellows this weekend and had to get his boat sticker first. Said the lady at the marina was nice as could be and the gentleman (husband ?) in there with her was pleasant enough. Not sure who in fact is the loose cannon up there. Also...he didn't have to read the folder full of rules before he was allowed a sticker.

Wow !! What is going on out there at Fellows anyway ?? Cabinman....please be sure and note a complaint with CU (the link is a few pages back). Guys and gals....this is getting way out of hand with this marina staff !!!!! Who on earth put them in charge of the whole lake and property up there ?!!? I would have lost it on this one.

If there is.no cold front associated with this forecast it won't make any difference. May muddy the water up lake....should help raise temps a little too.

And the lady in the marina isn't the one considered rude either. Weird that you received this information on the marina cove...its 180° different from what has been stated by CU and by that misinformed marina staff jerkoff that F-bombed richline2258 (boat fisherman) who mistakenly wandered into that cove to fish

I must say....it is an awesome thing when an issue such as this can be talked about and shared among strangers (so to speak) and a solution of sorts or.in this case an authoritive contact can be reached for.questions. I tip my hat to Muskie Bob and a thank you to Dave Woods for such a prompt and quick.response ! I'm not trying to keep the pot stirred when I say this...but...this may have no bearing on the behavior of the marina staff. Some peoples attitudes never change so I would encourage any and everyone to contact the provided link with any past or present issues such as this. It needs to be on file and noted. Having said that....I hope we can all enjoy our days of relaxation and fishing where ever we may launch a boat ! Thanks and respect to each of you for your opinions.....it does make a difference !

Kevin....I'm assuming you are referring to the marina owner as the problem ? And as far as richline not turning tail and getting out of the area NOW.....well.....pretty sure some of us wouldn't either after being hollared at with F-bombs. No one should feel intimidated by such behavior from a "tired of it" individual. This is just another example of the kind of intolerance and lack of respect some people show towards others. Rich line made an honest mistake with no intentional malice and this is what he got in return.....berated...disrespected....challenged....whatever you want to call it. Something needs to be done to prevent a similar incident from happening again..... whether it be signage or roping off the area.

Right on rich line. Like you....fishing is my one passionate "therapy". It is what I do every weekend and I look forward to being somewhere on some body of water to enjoy a day away from work and relax in my own little world. But I must agree completely with you and the others.....with the exception of that lame-butt Butthead....that an unprovoked verbal confrontation with someone out of nowhere over such a minor issue would be most unsettling. Pretty sure I would have had to really restrain myself so kudos to you for moving on and persuing a more mature course of action such as with MDC and CU. I am going to inquire myself this week and will post what I find out. Seems like one can't go anywhere anymore to find a place of their own for the day without some smartass punk to ruin the experience. Shame on those that do !

Sounds like a "fun" experience rich line. I've talked to other people who have had similar situations at this lake too.Seems like the lake is owned by the people at the marina...last I heard its a water source for Springfield so I figure the city utilities has the jurisdiction on what goes on out there. Nothing like having some loud mouth punkass throw his weight around to ruin your day. I know a lot of guys who don't go fishing there anymore....they're so rude sometimes at that marina. I'd suggest you file a complaint or find out with the city just who this twerp is and what his main function is out at the lake. They need better signage if there are restricted areas too. Just my two cents.

Are the campgrounds up and running and staffed with attendants ? Thinking about going up this weekend for 2 days of serious bass fishing and an evening by the campfire.

Cool vid Phil ! I may have ask you once before....what brand...action...length is the rod you're using in this video ? Fixin' to buy a new one for this type of presentation....one I have been using is too stiff. Got my eye on a 6 1/2 ft light action that feels perfect. Thanks in advance.
