  1. Nice fish man!
  2. So looks like life has stepped in and now trip is planned for 27/28 of February. Going with the recommendation's from Brian sloss and staying at sunburst and floating those two floats. Very cheap to stay down there and they seem very nice!
  3. There are two different kinds. One is a lake strain from up north that gets stocked. The other is the native river strain.
  4. On the caddis nice!
  5. On the caddis nice!
  6. Depends on the fly and the water. Typically l dead drift it through the current seams when I'm using leeches or buggers. After dead drifting a couple times I will actively retrieve with short strips on the bugger and soft jig ana leech. If you are fishing crane look up Czech nymph style. Its killer down there. Even if you don't use a sighter. Also try prince nymph and pheasant tail duo. Long leader and stealthy approach.
  7. In no going to get overly in depth with politics and code but i would like to say that it seems odd to me that in my whole life (30 plus years) I have fished multiple creeks rivers and the like and have maintained the logic that if I'm in the stream in not trespassing. Now live walked pass farms and woods with purple up and signs posted and even farmers in the field , I have never been asked to evacuate or had law called. I have been asked what I'm fishing for and how the bite is. I think most people ie landowners want to share Missouri's wealth of natural wonder. I also think that modern ethics and behavior make it hard for them. They see the degradation of society and are looking to protect the old ways of life and manners. Now there are those farmers whose only concern is profitability but mostly they don't want people ruining their Missouri. I hope that everyone educates the next gen on how to be good stewards and what is right. Then we will see more softies that open the gates.
  8. Fine bunch of pictures sir. Looking forward to my trip in February. Think we are kayaking though. Beautiful place
  9. New stonefly I put together. Going to use these on northfork of white in February.
  10. Not in typical spots. They were in the stream flats along limestone drop offs way down from railroad bridge. A few were holding in big drop spot but very spooky. The creek is full of green slime as well due to the lack of moving water. Look for gaps in the slime and cast way down stream to just ahead of clear spot.
  11. So rain didn't bring it up much. Put a slight dinge inthe water though. Managed to catch twelve today with biggest being 17inches. Most were small 5 to about 9 inch mark. Tried the new patterns but it is super low and stealth took priority. Most fish came on size twelve wooly bugger in olive. The rest went for black prince and peacock and partridge soft hackle. One on a black zebra midge.
  12. Tomorrow looks to be good and the creek sup a little and dingy which is about as good as it gets. Tied some new stonefly patterns I came up with. Will try to post some photos this time and get some of the flies I use in there as well.
  13. Looks like the usual suspects. Thanks guys . Planning on throwing a barely legal and sculpin pattern I came up with as well. Taking several streamers actually. Looks like sunburst is the best bettor shuttle and good float. Hope to hey down beginning of February ill post my findings.
  14. So aside from a shuttle what do i need toknow about the northfork ? I heard they have a lot of stone fly and caddis.
  15. Sorry dkman asked if is been to crane lately And i went off on a tangent.
  16. So planning on taking a day off Tuesday and hitting crane after the ice-pocolypse. Hope the rain brings the creek up some. Probably throw nymphs mostly and maybe streamers in some of the deeper spots .
  17. Rick are talking about roaring or crane . didnt realize there was a pool above that access at crane.
  18. It'll be up a moving after all the rain. Im headed down Tuesday for a look and may wet a fly. Ill post my findings either way. Hope its not an ice storm
  19. Not In a while . too much work. You?
  20. Ill say this... Capps in finicky but you can catch fish there with jigs on a spinning rod
  21. No pictures but good day of fishing. Caught about fifteen. Most on bigger stuff. Mainly a craft fur clouser in yellow and white. One on a red midge then switched over too mosquitoe. They love the mosquitoes down there .
  22. Heading down with a customer from my store tomorrow. Hope to get into some bigger fish. Going to throw some articulated stuff to test out its action.
