Yeah my brotheR had fun. He caught some chubs and minnows and had a look from a pretty decent brown on a white bugger. There are some good looking browns on there. Im going to get back down there and devote a daY To catching one big brown.

Ended up catching three brown and a big rainbow when we made it up to middle access. All on bugger. Browns were agressive a few big ones followed all the way up to us in a frenzy but didnt eat. Good to see you guys again.

Its almost time again for the spawn. Remember to be careful and eatch your step. The creek is super low right now so its going to limit spawning grounds. They should be hungry prior to the spawn though. Its the best time of year in missouri for trout!

Feral Hogs are getting out of hand

Hogs destroy property and ttake forage from native mammals. They are agressive and dangerous in comparison to native animals. In my opinion if they are having success trapping the whole sounder then banning the hunt for them where it works is fine. -

I tore up my first pair of waders up on a thorn bush at capps searching for untouched water. I had a major good day and wasnt catching the same numbers so i waded tthrough the forest until i got to shoal creek then thought id shortcut back through the timber. Bad idea... yup

Capps has yet to disappoint me lol. You just have to walk further. I went one morning before sun up and there was a guy walking through the woods to a spot that holds several dozen fish usually . he was carrying a net and two buckets. I shined my headlamp on him and he turned around and left. Guessing he thought i was a warden but he didnt hang around. So . Agree with buzz and olle that we shoukd be more vigilant in keeping people honest.

Water super low in crane. Started at lower access caught ten then hit middle caught five more. Mostly on griffiths gnat. All small except one a few on caddis and one decent one on an olive wb

Bh prince usually works good when water is stained or when it transitions from swift to deep really quickly. Otherwise bigger or midges will get it done. Small egg pattern will work too. Im goin Monday to try big dry flies like caddis and muddler. Maybe some beetles and hoppers. Also tied some midge emergers for the slack water.

All the flies i use are bead head. Or weighted with lead wire underneath.

Yeah ollie ther were a couple big ones. You could tell they had been fished too a lot though. As soon as my fly hit the water ywenty feet upstream they were gone. Then theyd be back in like ten minutes. Frustrating.

It was a horrid day of weather so of course it was a decent day at capps. Landed 8 lost several others. They were spread out pretty far so dont think theyve been stocked. Did see a monster brown about 8lbs if i were guessing and seversl others that were big as well up by park. Ill post pics soon

Have a meeting in neosho this week so thought id check out the little creek. Havent been since early this year. Hoping to get into a brown or two.

Probably strippin soft hackles. I shouldve done that with the low flow but didnt bring any with me. Thnks for report and im not overly fond of the outlets either seems like a trout park and too high likelyhood of foul hooking fish Or someone else.
