  1. Yeah..probably my fault. The only hunting I do anymore is pheasant or turkey..and it's been a while since I've done either one. Found out the area around Indian creek is closed to turkey hunting..just my luck!!
  2. Thank you.
  3. How much was a out of state pheasant tag? I REALLY miss pheasant hunting!! Would like to find someplace around here to turkey hunt this spring..did that a lot in Missouri
  4. Is there any good pheasant hunting left in Kansas? I miss going up to Iowa and pheasant hunting when I lived in Missouri!!!
  5. We may have the same friend...
  6. Crappie fishing has been pretty good again this week. The GIANTS were biting Tuesday...then Thursday it was all little guys. Had another pretty good day today but had to wade through a ton of shorts. HSB area..water temp 62.5-63.5. Basically, I have been catching them the same way I drop shot for bass..find a pile in 10-15 feet of water and drop a crappie jig down on there heads. Today I could see the crappie beside the piles and not on top of them..seems like they reposition every day. And it's only going to get better as the water cools off more!!
  7. Not sure if it is on YouTube..I'll find out.
  8. It was 100% a striper..he had his GO pro on when it hit. Straightened his hook out completely straight!! I was up at sidewalk hole the week before the Everett championship and saw several stripers busting shad. And I am 1000% sure it was stripers...it sounded like someone dropping a VW bug in the lake when the big ones came up!? A buddy was catching crappie up the river this weekend and said he saw several feeding also.
  9. A friend of mine had a big striper straighten his hook on a buzzbait this week up by the sidewalk hole. I guess they will eat the buzzer!!
  10. Personally, I want a bait I can throw a mile what a big boy blows up! A buzz bait would be pretty hard to get a accurate, long cast IMO.
  11. Not sure Doc..they were too far away for me to see. I'll ask my buddy. The guide does have his website name on the side of his boat.... By the time I get everyone to work and school, the bite will be over tomorrow!! I'm going to try Saturday morning..along with several others I'm sure!! Lol!
  12. Oh, one more thing. I didn't mention it this morning when Dan and I were in the boat but a very popular striper guide on Beaver came running ON PAD through the busting stripers this morning. I wasn't sure who it was but he went right by my buddy and I think he cussed a little when he went by him!! Guess he wanted to push those stripers down so he could run his live bait...I don't understand why he would act like that though.
  13. It was a fun yet frustrating day with Dan!! We had fish everywhere..yet a buddy of mine was in the same area, throwing the same baits, and he boated 9 stripers with the biggest around 25-27 pounds!!! That just fuels the fire to get'em next time!
  14. Well, I'll wear the top hat tomorrow if that's what it takes to catch some big stripers!! See you at the ramp!
  15. I totally understand. This lake does see a lot of pressure! The crappie tourney out of Hickory only had 5 boats last weekend..in sure that number will grow in the spring though. I also see your point about lurkers coming on here looking for free info but do not make any posts. We have been very fortunate this year bass fishing and had by far the best year we have had on the lake..I enjoy bass tournaments and have ever since I fished my first one with my Dad at 12 years old. Guess it's just in my blood. I have also tried to help some guys through messages that have been struggling, new to the lake or just visiting. I had guys help me when I moved here several years ago and just try to return the favor. From what I have seen this year, the bass population looks as strong as it's been in a long time. I'm sure the high water last year and again this winter/early spring has something to do with that. Here is our best 5 from earlier this year in a 4 1/2 hour jackpot..it was just one of those special nights!!
  16. Sorry about that..thought I had rubbed you the wrong way!! I know some folks that run a kids high school deal and was going to ask them if they knew who was at the ramp...it's a shame that the younger generation of fisherman want to act that way!! J-doc, would love to have you join me this winter when the bass start chewin' real good!!
  17. Don't know why my comments keep getting ran down by you but I think you know what I mean when I said 'belong to the fisherman again'. During the winter, when it's nice and cold out, there are no jet skis, wake boarders or ski boats. It's just us fisherman. Geez..first I get ripped for giving a report that the crappie were biting, now this. You need to get out and rip some lips to get you back in the state of mind.
  18. Man, that sucks. I am also ready for the cold weather so the lake will belong to the fisherman again!! Any idea what club it was?
  19. No doubt Dan can see a 10" Kentucky swirl on a shad from 1/2 mile away!!??.
  20. A buddy had some good top water action around Hickory creek in VERY shallow water Wednesday!! Crappie are sitting on brush piles..use those electronics to find the piles and the crappie. Dan is on the stripers!
  21. I thought that's what this forum was for..to share with other OAF guys what going on out on the water?? I really didn't even have to post that report. Guys that fall crappie fish on Beaver know that it's about to get really good for a few weeks.
  22. Like Dan, can't/won't give specific location but mid lake in general. Over brush piles in 15-20 feet of water..26 big keepers up to 2 1/2lb. It's gettin' that time!!
  23. Copper mine lodge is on the right just past Shaddix (bad spelling). It is that little blue bed in the pic I posted
  24. Check out the'Beaver Lake Arkansas Fishing Report' on Facebook. Major striper action today...we also had a 20+ in a bass tournament 2 weeks ago on a spook.
