  1. I love it. Looks really good. I too would say the advantages are the hook location." I love to finesse fish." (I find myself saying this quite often when it comes to different styles of fishing.) I guess I like it all. But I could see this being pretty cool for bed fishing as (once again) I love to bed fish. Often times you can watch the bass pick up the lure and move it out of their bed by the tail. This technique allows you to keep the lure in the bed shaking it more and not moving the lure(as someone already stated) and more of an opportunity of hook up as the fish may not have take the lure in all the way to the typical shakey head hook depth. (If that makes sense. Thanks For that video. I will ccertainly be trying. If I can remember it. Lol
  2. Thanks sprinter21ter. That confirms it. I suck!. I was able to get out today didn'tcatch one fish. First time in a very long time I have gotten skunked at the rock. Do u know how they caught'em?
  3. Perhaps I should have said the tournament on tablerock. Can't remember which tournament it was.
  4. Anyone hear the weights of the tournament today.
  5. Richy just curious. Is that an old pic or has table rock area just not lost their leaves yet? Up here there aren't any leaves on trees at all.
  6. Thank you Champ. Greatly appreciated!
  7. Something else I have started doing which I'm sure many others are as well is using hi-vis line with a fluorocarbon leader especially when it's a "line watching" type of bite. You will see the smallest tick in your line so much easier. Its really improve my ability to see the smallest of line ticks. Good luck!
  8. As far as the mentality of only calling a cop when you need one and then criticizing them when they are doing their job isn't being proactive in the support of law enforcemnent. As many know I too am a law enforcemnent officer and have been for 12 years. Many times i have taken into consideration a person's current financial situation as it relates to a speeding ticket or other traffic related offenses and not write them. That being said, no one is more "truely" aware of their financial situation than the said offender. So, if they can't afford the risk of getting a summons, then they should especially be aware of their speed or other potential violations and not commit them. As far as an officer getting involved with your life unless you call them....again i can say that many times officers get involved in your life and you don't even know it because they prevented you from being a victim of a crime by being proactive and patrolling your neighborhood while many are at home sleeping. un be knownst to you, they stopped a burglary in your area or stopped a speeder who was intoxicated. Thus preventing him from killing your loved ones. a horrible feelings of law enforcement is responding to a motor vehicle accident involving an intoxicated driver where the innocent one or (someone's loved one) was killed and we didn't get to stop that person before a tragic event occurred. I realize there are a lot of people who are jaded with law enforcement and it truely is a shame. I also realize some Leo's have brought that on themselves. But please remember for every 1 bad officer there are 100 good ones. I appreciate the support for law enforcement that many give. I am willing, and have stood in front of harms way for more than one "stranger" because that is the oath i took and is what I swore to do.
  9. Try out four seasons resort in little aunts creek located off vacation lane. Its owned by Ruth and Ed. Extremely nice people.
  10. Eric everything posted so far is great information! The only rebuttal I would have is....if you are wanting to actually learn to fish deep, you can't learn without making yourself do it. You can and will find them deep if you are good with electonics as abkeenan stated. Electronics are an absolute must! The only caveat to that is, you have to find the right school. If they aren't ready to eat..they won't. If and when you graph them, don't simply base your decision of not dropping on them because you aren't seeing the arches. Sometimes you can fire them up with a spoon. Something else I would offer is...when you drop the spoon down and you see the fish coming up to your lure and then he goes back down...chances are, thats a catchable fish. Keep spooning for a little while. If it seems that its not working and the fish just keep coming up and then back down,You just may need to switch tactics. Perhaps they are wanting something more subtle such as the Rapala ice jig or drop shot. it's been a couple of weeks since i have been down but when i was, the major creeks were loaded with shad. Perhaps that has changed. I absolutely love fishing deep it's a ton of fun. Its literally like playing a video game when graphing the fish and watching them come up. sometimes on the drop shot you don't feel the bite. You just have to know your electronics and know when the fish has your lure. Good luck. When you learn it, you'll love it.
  11. Despite the rain sounds like a good day champ. Good job!
  12. Good job Benthanks for the report. Champ how was the fishing on grand?
  13. Yes I caught quite a few on it this past weekend. White and chartreuse 5/8oz.
  14. I too had a great trip this past weekend. I had some pics but I dropped my phone in the lake. Lost everything, contacts and tons of photos of kids and family. I will start backing my phone up and down loading pics to external hard drive. All of my fish to include several 3lb small mouth came on a spoon, ice jig and drop shot. First day (Saturday) I caught over 20 before I ever started up my big motor within the first hour and a half. Every fish i caught was fat and all were keepers. They were suspended in 70' foot of water at 40-45' deep in the center of creek channels. I graphed them in front of docks at first, then later on in the day is when they really loaded up in the center of the creek. Good luck to everyone.
  15. Very nice job Bo!
  16. I can't wait for the jerk bait bite to really turn on. Good fishin
  17. Great job. Looks like a great time. Thanks for the report.
  18. Also this is not a "I support Johnny Morris" it's just that I enjoy listening to stories about how one surpassed all the alleged oppression and prevailed in life's trials and tribulations. Some as you stated didn't come by that success with good morals and shame on them. And some become successful and start living their life immoral and shame on them. And as far as my life today I still don't have the money to do all the things in life that I would like to do. I continue to juggle bills as to create overdrafts in my bank account as I am living my life to become debt free. To me.. that's the american dream. And as far as how I define greed is someone who thinks they can take it to their grave. If Johnny Morris is living life that way then shame on him I venture to say his intentions are to pass it on to his family as he is a family man. Or greed is one who refuses to help families in need. I would venture to say he is one with a giving heart. I leave you with this. I hope and pray that some day I can start living "The American Dream."
  19. I guess the simple fact that jm earned his money on his own means nothing to you old plug. The fact that he started his business in the back of his father business and then spent a year traveling the country acquiring lures from different parts of the country securing them in a trailer with a 79 cent lock during his travel. Thus enabling him to begin the business he has today. Thus was all done by him and another friend while they were in their early twenties. I came from an extremely poor family where more times than not our electric was shut off because my parents couldn't afford the electric bill. I was also on free lunches at school and most of my school years I wore hand me down clothes from other kids who also went to the same school as me. Therefore they knew where I got my clothes. Every year I find a family in need and give them a hand up during the times of the holidays and expect nothing from it. Often times they don't even know where it came from. I do believe in giving people a hand. However there are those who don't care to work for something in life. As far as charities, no I don't look at those as the lesser evil as my family took them often. Thanks for your opinion.
  20. Fair enough. Good luck to all and their future adventures of fishing. No harm no foul.
  21. Phil I usually don't even cuss. And for that I am sorry that I was a potty mouth. You have always maintained professionalism and i thank you for that. But as suspected I received the negative responses from those who I thought would respond in a negative manner. For instance, Champ.. you were certainly commenting pretty aggressive towards other posts made on this forum telling everyone how you felt about certain topics. (That of which i won't bring back up to avoid that confrontation again) which wasnt me, and i happen to agree with you on that specific topic. But, No one forced you to read them. But you did.... and again i will reiterate you voiced your opinion in a negative way . Double standards I guess. We live in America, a place where one should have the right to be as successful as they wish. Perhaps they will judged on judgement day. However and just as Phil had stated. Just because JM is worth "said amount" doesn't mean he has that much in his checking account. I don't know if he makes significant donations to certain charities. I'm sure he does and they probably are significant amounts. Wrench I do agree to some degree that he should perhaps off set the charity donations with raises to his employees but I can't even comment on that because I don't know how much he pays them already. And then there is the argument about how expensive some of his merchandise is and he should just lower his prices. perhaps that is what he should do. Unfortunately a guy of his status is always going to receive criticism on his success by some people no matter what he does. My intentions weren't to offend people to which apparently I did. It's just aggravating to hear the same people starting drama in a negative light, and shame on me for feeding in to it. I just wanted to voice my opinion. Maybe I didn't do it in a tactful way.
  22. Amen fishing wrench! The other shame of all of this is the fact that if anyone of these nay sayers were offered a deal with Johnny Morris I would almost bet anyone of them would take it. (Im sure I'll get a "not me" response from that) I can tell you I know a few people who have worked for him for a very long time and/or currently still do. All three of the people that i know who work for him absolutely love him as a boss. I'm sure you can find those who don't like him but they are either jealous or want something for nothing or just simply choose to be unhappy in life. The shame of all of this is the fact that this is supposed to a fishing forum. You could probably go back to its beginning and see that most information in the past was positive fishing information. Now more than what should be, is negative. I just wish all you nay sayers would just leave the forum and come back when you can grow the hell up and if that never happens (the growing up part) then i wish you all luck. Yes some of you have a lot to offer but who gives a s#!t anymore. I would rather just hear how someone had a great time fishing and how they caught them than to listen to you freaking cry babies whine about stupid s#!t. Even if they aren't a "great" fisherman. The fact of the matter is this...if you cry babies out there started a business and had opportunities for your business to grow you wouldn't just stop the possible growth of your business and say that's too greedy. No you would continue to allow your business to flourish just as he does.
  23. I'm sure they are going to start pulling water again to draw the lake back down to winter pool. I just wonder if this is going to have the effect on fish and start pulling them back out to the main lake. What do you guys think?
  24. I too agree. 15lb minimum. Some guys choose to us mono for the stretch. I have two rods set up for top water obviously with mono. But...because I have top water lures tied on them and don't want to take it off...I just use my flouro rods with 15lb minimum. Spoons are a great time when the fish are actively feeding or are set up deep. Good luck!
  25. My third "to go bait" for the fall would have to be the wiggle wart or rock crawler.
