  1. Thanks F&F for the report. Got the spider rig gear loaded on the boat for the weekend. I'll share a report if things turn out well.
  2. Great day of fishing there!
  3. Congrats, those are a really a sharp looking boat.
  4. Great fish F&F! Glad it wasn't a major issue with your boat.
  5. Great idea F&F. Here's mine from Beaver. Caught this Fat Black Crappie in a root infested tree stump that I hope will get under water again someday soon. She was in 3 fow. I was using a slip bobber with BG's lights out color baby shad. Stupid thing is I didn't really have a accurate ruler to get the length and scale to get weight. I would say 14". Not the biggest but more of a memory and amazement of how I got it in the boat. The striper was my first and first time ever striper fishing. Dan the fisherman showing me the ropes and we caught this 20# and change striper. Got me hooked. Now I'm in the works of getting a striper setup together so I can go after them as well.
  6. Awesome fishing. Great pics. Congrats Yak on the PB!
  7. I've been there several times. Awesome trail system. I usually put in at North Fork Lake and ride the whole 37 miles. There is place at the fishing village that I think will shuttle you. The climbs are steady. The last seven miles there is a climb that goes up for a awhile but not too intense. Make sure you at least do the 5-7 mile bluff line trail it's really sweet. Have a blast and try to hit the LOViT trail too it's just as good.

  9. Thursday is was 39 degrees
  10. If this helps any. I went up in Blue Springs on Friday and caught some crappie pushing silver bullets two cranks off the bottom moving at a snails pace. No live well full but enough for supper.
  11. Dan the fisherman and I got out yesterday afternoon. This being my first ever time going striper fishing it was a watch and learn experience. I think I'm hooked. Great day, good company, and landed my first striper. 20# and some change. Thanks Danny for showing me the ropes and look forward to getting back out there again.

  13. I should be off work between 11-12 and ready to roll from there. I sent ya a message just little while ago. I'll catch up with you there.
  14. Cool, let's pencil next Friday in and follow up next week and go from there.
  15. Sounds like a plan. The only striped fish I've ever landed is one that I helped my disable dad get in the boat that he got a hold of by accident while crappie fishing. He caught it on a Arkie 1/16 oz crappie jig head and a BG red chartreuse babby shad, while using a Mr. Crappie 5'.5" slab shaker pole. One memory I'll never forget. Mostly right now I'm only able to fish on Friday's. This Friday I'm out. Honey do's. Next Friday I should be able to go. Keep in touch, would like try my hand at it.
  16. Thanks, I'll take you up on that offer if it's not too much trouble on you.
  17. Cool man, yes that was me! Glad to hand to them over. Wife called and had to get on back home and didn't have time to clean.
  18. I was out on Tuesday. Where you in the two motor transom setup Thanks F&F it's been a great and fun year fishing. I'm really glad I found this forum to chat with others and pick up on tips. I'm mostly a one pole fishermen, I just enjoy the thumb and setting the hook. Nothing against trolling. I push every now and then, but due to time restraints, that being a six month old and a 2 year old I hate wasting time setting everything up. I wanted to start chiming in every now and then and give some kind of update with how I've been catching them and maybe learn knowledge/areas from others about fishing Beaver. Hope my updates help others and look forward to hear others reports and tips. 4 months and counting until April, just hope water levels are up high by then so I can pull them out of buck brush.
  19. Well I was able to sneak away for a couple hours this afternoon. Fished from 2:30 to 4:30. The report earlier about birds in the Monte Ne area is still happening. Seen a few boat trolling the area, falling the birds and from what I could tell as I fished only two boats caught one each. For me, I fished the timber along a bluff line and different areas I have marked in the past. For the first hour I could only get light nibbles and couldn't get any swung over the boat. I was trying different colors and depths to figure what they wanted the best. Finally after about the third time coming back and fishing a brush pile that I've had my most success on this winter catching crappie I started catching them. I had five in the kitchen in matter of twenty minutes and then the wife called and has already picked up the girls and is heading home. So had to shut her down. I fished down about nine feet just over the top of the brush pile that was in 30 fow using Bobby Garland Baby shad electric chicken color on a 1/8oz chartreuse head. The only thing I can figure that maybe turn them on was the sun started to move around and that area became shaded. ??? Fish where all around the 12"mark and there is one happy striper fishermen out there to have a small mess of crappie to take home.
  20. Yep, that sums up my day too. Manage 5 but it was a slow process. Beats working though and glad to get out.
  21. Awesome fishing this week, congrats!
  22. Just heard on the radio that they found the child in OK and he is alright.
  23. Congrats on the catch. The disclaimer statement makes me laugh. Good stuff
  24. Well that's "crappie" maybe next time.
  25. Good luck today fellas. Good time of year to be on the water getting a hook wet.
