  1. Went out today for first time in a long time. There were quite a few boats out, more ski boats than I expected to see. They didn't bother me too much tho. It sure was a nice day for being the end of October. I trolled flicker shads for a few hours near PC without a single bite. I have very little trolling experience so I wasn't too upset about it. Mostly a trip to get used to the new boat and play around with the graphs and trolling motor. Would have been nice to catch a few but overall it was a good time
  2. How is the ramp at Monte Ne?
  3. Nice report, thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to get out on the water this weekend with the warm weather.
  4. Sure wish the weather was going to be nicer this weekend, I'm itching to get back out on the water. Thanks for the report.
  5. Thanks guys. Yeah Dan, winter fishing can be tough but it does tend to lead to some of the largest catches of the year. Certainly bigger than any of the bass I caught on beaver in 2014
  6. Launched out of Monte Ne a little after noon, water temp was hovering just above 42 degrees. Idled around for a few minutes and found a brush pile with crappie (I was guessing) on it, couldn't get bit. So I pulled out my jerkbait rod and headed to a channel swing to try my luck on bass, after about 15-20 minutes of working down the bluff I twitched my bait into a solid wall, then I felt the head start shaking and the drag started being pulled out. After a good fight I pulled out my first fish of 2015. 5lb 13oz After a quick photo session and measurements I released her back into the water and continued down the bluff with no more bites. I ran to Nelson Hollow and caught two more short LM on a jerkbait. Then I went back to the brush pile where I started and pulled up a perch and a short crappie. All in all it was a good day, the bite was slow, but it was just a nice day to be on the water.
  7. I've only been there twice but it does have a 6 lber in it. Only keeper I caught that day. caught 3 keeper kentuckys the following Saturday
  8. Going late doesn't always work, I was fishing in Coose Friday evening and a wake boat had tower lights and they continued wake boarding and tubing well after sunset. I think they finally quit around 9:30. I couldn't believe it
  9. That's what I gathered from the full report, from what I understand the last page states that it went into affect Jan 1 of this year... WHEREAS, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and its staff have proposed the attached fisheries regulations and WHEREAS, the attached regulations have been communicated through a variety of media avenues to sportsmen and the general public throughout the state for review and comment for the past 30 days; and WHEREAS, after carefully considering the recommendations of Commission staff and the Regulations Committee, as well as comments received from the public, the Commission has determined that the attached regulations promote sound wildlife conservation and management and are consistent with Amendment 35 of the Arkansas Constitution and that these regulations should now be approved for application statewide. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED this 15th day of August 2013, that the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission hereby approves and adopts the attached regulations, which shall become effective January 1, 2014. BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that the Commission staff is authorized to proceed with legally certifying and filing the attached regulations with the Secretary of State, State Library, and Bureau of Legislative Research and incorporating them into the Commission Code Book and Addendum.
  10. I was unaware of this until my buddy made mention of it last Friday when we were catching a bunch of what were short fish by the old 12" limit. So I looked it up today and sure enough, should have kept a few.... http://www.agfc.com/enforcement/Documents/FishingRegsApproval.pdf Elimination of the 12-inch minimum length limit on spotted bass in Beaver Lake. Spotted bass in Beaver Lake exhibit slow growth rates as documented by age and growth studies. It takes Beaver Lake spotted bass 3.8 years to reach the 12-inch minimum length limit and over 7 years to reach 15 inches. The spotted bass population in Beaver Lake is dominated by smaller fish. Results from the last two years of electrofishing showed that over 82% were below 12 inches. Discontinuing the length limit on spotted bass will promote more harvest of the species which will reduce competition for available forage and allow for increased growth rates of other black bass species.
  11. Don't know how close you are to cabelas but they often have good deals on graphs in the bargain cave. A lot of the time they are just new returns that have never been out of the box.
