  1. I'm calling this a BBB diversion tactic
  2. I had some success working a jerkbait from our docks on Saturday. Only caught three and missed at least another three, but it produced bigger fish than the males that may have been shallower. Biggest went 15" 1.25 lbs. Had Ameren not drawn the water back AGAIN I would have taken a completely different approach. Spent the rest of the day chasing green fish.
  3. Spot on Nomolites hah
  4. 100% blue cat. Hell of a tug! Im with everybody else waiting for this lake to heat up.
  5. I was wondering the same thing! 2 lb test?
  6. my buddy won stockton this weekend with a new pb in his bag while 25 of 85 anglers fishing it totally blanked...
  7. I fished the 7mm area Saturday and managed 2 dinks. I fully expect things to get better very soon.
  8. cut that thing up and set some lines!
  9. Ameren strikes again!
  10. I would invest in a good 12-14# fluorocarbon like sunline sniper as long as you're not fishing topwater. Fluorocarbon sinks and will affect the way baits like poppers sit on the water. Aside from that, it's going to be invisible and much more sensitive than mono as long as you're tying the right knot. I tie palomars for braid and mono, but for some reason it doesn't behave well for me on fluoro. I don't know the name of this knot, but it's all I tie for fluorocarbon anymore.
  11. I was thinking a quick shot of scotch gard to each guide
  12. Flash cannot exist without light, so using a flashy bait with a lack of light sounds counter-intuitive to me.
  13. The Ned excels in clear water, it's all about subtle action. If clarity is less than 4' you're probably better off taking Wrench's advice and trying the hula.
  14. I think the purple/gold color I use is called ITO Wakasagi
  15. What colors do you guys like best on LOZ? I've been having great luck with purpledescent/gold head, and pro blue. Curious to hear what other guys have been throwing with good results!
  16. Alright '88, High Point it is!!! That is a BEAUTY of a black crappie. Stiff as a board too
  17. Being from LOZ you know I'm no stranger to the slab buster, and it's quivering tail thanks man
  18. A couple guys and I will be camping and fishing for a few days in late march-early april. I'm a LOZ native, but Stockton's always had a charm about it that makes it my favorite ozark fishery. I can't wait to show these guys this beautiful lake. I digress... This will be my first time fishing it during what I'm sure will be prespawn for the green and brown fish. Only been able to fish it in the past during May-July, so I'm looking forward to the chance at sticking some heavier fish. They always seem to fight harder at Stockton. We'll be staying and fishing between Crabtree and Masters, but we're willing to cover water if need be. Any advice you guys are willing to give would be greatly appreciated, and I'll be sure to report back. Tight lines ~
  19. I usually skip the candle and stamps just to drool on $25 japanese baits. Joking aside, like Oldplug I rely on TW for the majority of my tackle needs but Bryant's has come through in a bind for me on many occasions. Sometimes at no cost They do what they can to maintain their bottom line, and they seem to do it well. The fact that they hold reliable business hours puts them in a class above any other shop that's called Laurie home (cough... Buster's).
  20. My grandparents' place has been my home away from home for my entire life, just a 15 minute drive north of Laurie on O-road at 7mm. Oldplug's right, Laurie is a gem of a little town and there's nowhere I'd rather be year round at the lake. The G2M has all the food and booze you could ever need, and Bryant's Osage Outdoors is the best bait and tackle shop you'll ever visit. Some pretty good dining options in Laurie as well. If it was my money I'd be looking waterfront around the vicinity of Laurie.
  21. May not be LOZ, but it was nice to find some thick ones thumping it back in KC after some tough weekends down at the lake. Not as many as previous years, but a good dozen of thick, +12" fish thumping it. A bite that may even be worth travelling for
  22. Please guys, not all at the same time.
  23. Anybody get out today? They seemed spread out, dock hopped around in 12-18 FOW and managed one that kept. Lot of dinky green fish in the brush.
  24. Beautiful blacks Wharfrat. Textbook LOZ slabs.
