I enjoyed the first round out of the Pan.. Regardless of Chinese origin!!!... not sure anybody appreciated the second third and fourth round throughout the night

    What's Cooking?

Suuuuure Rick!.. Delicate "my @rse".... Would the bacon, or Molasses, and /or onion fall into the delicate category???? Hmmmm?
  3. Here is a poignant post and it hit a lot of buttons for Me! The poster shall remain nameless and so shall the site (Site....not really...I visit it a lot and IDK if you know!).. not that you cant search for it... (My Commentary Added not that you care.. don't bother trolling case you wont get a reply from me!.. You know who you are!) "Has anyone noticed that death has become our obsession on this website (ZH)? How sad. There is a profound difference between existing and living, and the bridge that leads from one to the other is acceptance of one's own mortality. You cannot live in fear (But you can be smart), you can only exist in it. (Agreed!.. go friggin garden or something other than OBSESSING who done who wrong and live life!... But care for others more than yourself and surely search for the truth as to whole stole your cheese!) I'm 74, and my best friend is a former colleague still going strong at 91. All but one of my friends is older than me. (I cant say that!) And we are all pissed because these stupid lock downs are interfering with our ongoing commitment to spend every last dollar of our grandchildren's inheritance. (Yup!!! tell this to my kids every day!) None of us fear death; no, it is the possibility of ending up in a nursing home, no longer independent, robbed of our personal dignity-- that's what we all dread. (Agreed!.. and I am committed to keep mom from there but its getting harder because I cant give her the care 24x7 she actually needs!.. and that gives me concern and a sad prospect for tomorrow!) I'm out every day, and I see lots of elderly in the stores and on the streets. But in the last month, young people have been gradually disappearing from view. Are they all cowering in their basements? (Not sure agree with cowering.. I have a basement dweller and he and his friends are actually looking to bail and make a go if it... WOOOHOO! ) Life is a terminal condition (Aint none of us getting out of it alive!!!!). No government edict or program is going to change this. (Copacetic maan! Copacetic )

    What's Cooking?

Cake made with mayo instead of oil???? just cause I'm jonesing for a heavy (think Brick) chocolate cake - Same density as a brick Looks delish either way!... Tell the Spouse Well Done!.... (Wipe Slobber)
  5. Whats a very tender sized brussel sprout for 500 @ness
  6. While not as cool as the MyRadar App....You can not only get the weather past, present, and future weather... apparently Covid-19 data as well This is my location - try yours! - https://www.wunderground.com/weather/us/ia/swisher/52338 BTW see all that beautiful precip in my neck-o-the-woods???? = Happy Garden plots!!!!!! I'm so digging this rain... Sorry guys!
  7. You guys are gardeners, and I come from a family and background of large produce farms (Grandfather 14 acre - and Fredon Farms - 240 acre produce farms with 5 x 1k Sq Ft greenhouses seeding our own crop for planting and sale to the public) I love these guys and I think they are doing an immense service to anyone looking to grow their own or just getting a start!!!
  8. I see you go both ways!.... To each his own!!!!
  9. OK.. out of garden.. Jumping back into the Frey! So restrictions are lifting....Which is good where applicable...... people are pissed and want a breath of fresh air.. AND I GET IT...I'M COPACETIC.. However, this thing is spiking with relaxing protocols.. Just look it up.. the data is out there...and I'm OK with managing the infection rate.. I think this is: "a manage the virus and the psyche of the public" as the psyche of the public is just as important as adjusting the curve for the hospitals (which I think we have achieved) As I have said several times..You're gonna get this!!!!... the trick is get it SMALL! (wear your FM and keep SD in mind).....France - is continuing lock down for 2 months as there has been a spike.... Mexico City is at capacity in its hospitals.... Its blossoming everywhere as expected.... with relaxed protocols..(OK we knew this... adjust as needed) I want things to return to normal...... but normal has a new realty...... I'm still waiting on medical findings as to what this sh@tstorm actually is.... So far CFR is looking like flu or less.... BUT.... Politics, Epidemiology, and the unknown (cause we don't have a clue what this dealy-bob is) our lives are in flux.... I think a mix of everything that's been done to date has been appropriate (but we have new data and need a modified plan - I think this is in place..lets see how states implement the data).. Local municipalities / Governors should be making calls for public safety and not politics.. I'm ok with limited restrictions in hot-spots and I'm OK with opening economies with proper social distancing protocols and personal protection enforcement (PPE) This is going to be a see-saw process...AS I SEE IT.. for the next 8 months at least.. BTW for those in the investing community, I'd be interested in hearing your perspective... As we can all take personal steps to mitigate the cr@pstorm that has affected out portfolios.... Folks might appreciate your views here! Me Personally I'm always open to different perspectives when it comes to preserving family, food stores, and capital. I manage my own 401k with an investment account but other use canned offerings from their employers... What are you doing and what are your results to date! (no investing advise is being solicited/offered.... - digest and decide at your own risk!)

Been through three interviews.. have the 4th on Monday.... I'm thinking I might have a shot or at least the final round... But at the end of the day, I'm sure Ill be working with whomever gets the job! Feeling like the interviews have gone well... as I keep hearing....good answer! and I like that! when answering strategy questions... Mondays call is with top brass above the hiring manager????... Thanks for the well wishes and encouragement! BTW the position Productivity Service Manager for Cloud Services - Covers in The Cloud and on Prem SharePoint, Yammer, Delve (AI - Graph), MS Forms, AIP, DLP, E-Discovery, Search, and working closely with several other groups as there is a lot of overlap with O365 cloud services, AD, Exchange, Teams (backend is sharepoint), Azure Rights Management, Microsoft Information Protection... etc.

    Asparagus?

@MOPanfisher, OK talk too me about this and the theory? or....known practice?.. Never heard of this..... too tired to google and talking with friends about gardening is better than politics!
  13. My arrrrms is tarrrrd! Took Thursday and Friday off and tilled the crap outa my plots.. This morning, I planted a few more Roma tomatoes (Canning Maters) The Winter Squash Plot (Spaghetti, Waltham Butternut and Acorn) planted. the next plot was Indian Corn, Zucchini, and Watermelon, planted (Still have a row of onions to stick in this one when they get here from Gurneys) Cabbage, Cucumbers and Beans (bush) plot planted....... and my compost heap is host to a bunch of Pumpkin seeds (Big Max).....potential for 100 lb pumpkins.... just gonna let them do what they do.. and feed em chicken Sh@T I'm a tad sun-burnt...and ready for a cocktail! Hope all of your gardens are doing well! Last plot is the 30x50 sweet corn..I'll hit that tomorrow and do 1/3 to 1/2 of it then do another a week or two later
  14. Wow!... go work on my garden and get offline for a while and this has become a p!ss!n match over politics again, and again, and again, and again... Going back to my garden...HAVE FUN WHILE IT LASTS ....
  15. Appreciate a dose of JOY!... Nice fish! Danke for the report!

  18. So gotta love our seniors.. They have the Con (Star Trek reference in case you're wondering) with regard to their lives! Prayers for your Mother-In-Law.... I'm sure you are her favorite Son-In-Law!!!!! Good for you mate for caring but they make the decisions!

    Wish me Luck!

I appreciate your WISDOM Rick! I truly do!!!!!... bank on it ... i JUST TUCKED AWAY ALL THOSE TIDBITS OF WISDOM!!... not sure how many people will report to the position if I am fortunate enough to be picked (there are tons of applicants Pool of thousands) !. I would have to recruit a team and I have no idea what the budget is for this group... The guy newly promoted to the Sr Director role thats hiring this position has a wealth of experience but none in this realm.. he will rely on his reports to get things done (I am sure i can help here....have two years building and growing this platform).. Could be 4-7 reports....who know at this point.. What i do know is we are going to be merging with the corporate O365 tenant in 2-4 years and I have been around the block or two with M&A's and these sort of migrations...Hopefully he see's the benefit of what I can bring to the table Brother! BTW providing Mom is in good enough health, plan to don your mask and come down in June... Social Distancing is in order.. Cast Iron Cooking is required!!!! Fish in the boat a PLUS!!! AND THAT GOES FOR ALL OF YOU!!!! SERIOUS... May need an additional boat though... Mine is big....but not big enough for more than 4!

    Wish me Luck!

Thanks man!!!! Kinda scary going into management... Management is first to get purged...... but I'm taking my chances!
  21. So I don't talk about work much, over the years 20+ I have been a mule! (someone to count on... Might have to put up with the balling and hollering! much like a mule) cause I produce results. I have been selected in the past for PBM3 management training and went through the program.. immensely valuable! It was an honor out of 400k employees to get the training.... but I have turned down 2 other offers to manage a team. Because this is quandary for me!... So....I have now stepped into the fray and applied for two position for O365 management positions.. I think I am well qualified to lead and direct this group.. kinda scary even at 53... but times are a changing and I think now's the time for change. At the end of that day, if I don't get it, I am sure I will be an integral part of the team moving forward in Cloud based solutions and the changes that are coming down the pike!.... so I'm good either way!.. (mules don't need much to make em happy) Tomorrow is my interview for two positions., had the HR interview today.. went well (useless in my opinion). New position(s)....managing level 2/3 engineers and the other is level 3 engineers. BTW - level 3 is SHTF.... engineers! For those level 3 engineers out there..... of which I have been one for 16 years. Appreciate the support! if you have it to give.... Otherwise my wife is gonna have too!
  22. I have not been participating lately as the thread has taken on a life of its own and that's OK... as long as it constructive dialog and no pot shots taken on individuals... which I may even have contributed and i am sorry for that!.... We all have position even if they are wrong ...me included but I DOUBT IT I agree that the "test everybody" is a behind the curve extrapolation,....... I do like the idea though, of knowing who's got the antibodies and who don't!!!!.. but not at the expense of some Orwellian tracking mechanism! If you got the antibodies......go about your business, but be cognizant of social distance, wear a mask (this only says you care... you're not paranoid...IMHO) I have an elderly parent living with me who is in the winter years of her life and even though my Mom still can piss me off to no end...(who's Mom don't on occasion..or Dad for that matter) I love here exponentially!!! and want to keep her safe... So I want you to respect that! I also want this crap to end..... and get us back to normal, cause killing our way of life and small business does no one any good especially, since the CFR is turning out to be Flu Like!!! .....but I get it... It Ain't the flu and what this is we don't know yet (Thanks Communist China for being so open... Oh yeah thats right you have an agenda...So FO) ... So we can all make changes to protect and serve our fellow man!.. and get the frig on with life a new life.... and get our economy rolling again... (there is a portion of this that stinks.... and I will save that for the Conspiracy Theories thread....have at it!)
  23. https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2020/04/26/iowa-pig-farmers-face-euthanizing-thousands-animals-supply-chain-stalls/ OK so this on its face ticks me off.. yes they have lots of product.. and they have a business question.. do I/they feed the stock and risk no profit. My questions: The write off; is it not just as good if you keep feeding them and get less money? - I need more input but this seems a bit contrived! seriously you cant start a FB page or web site and sell the hog to individuals who would butcher themselves? or small processors?? again not buying the premise are you just pissing and moaning cause you're a corporate farmer and well your're a corporate farmer... - SMH I think there are lots of viable alternatives without reaching your hand out to the gov or crying wolf. And trust me I know corporate farmers!... have no love for them!.. and as you can see supply chain...JIT delivery has its problems all created by corporate entities!. we need to get back to mom and pop delivery BTW - I'll save them the cost of Euthanizing that piglet and take 3 - I'll make better pork from them raised heritage style then they will in a confinement
  24. yup... you can look out your window and see the water below! Hunted the UP every fall from 1985-89 crossed it several times
  25. Been escorted across that bridge with a lead vehicle in the winter.. Water was spraying the side of the vehicles and rocking and rolling... for those that never been on that bridge... its way up there and to have water spray hit you tells you all you need to know!
