  2. I've been sharing stories all day with my coworkers about the great time, the great fishing and the great group of guys that come to this event. I had a blast and wanted to thank everyone who made food, shared their boats, and shared their stories with me. It was great to fish with Pete, Mike, Brett and Ham this year. A special thank you to Phil for the site and Jigfest outing. And a big thanks Richard for the Hats and Jigs and poles. I saw some of the most productive days ever fishing for trout personally - I love the White River. Cant wait to get over to Norfork soon. Thanks Pete for for a great day fishing on the river. We got to see some cool stuff that day. After you left I headed back to Buffalo and put in with all the 10k+ CFS comin down the chute from Bull Shoals I got my chain snagged and all that water kept the float submerged about a foot.. 40 min later I managed to fish it out with my jig.. Thanks Brett for a great day on the river in your boat and hanging out and just a good time all around from conversation to fishing. Thanks Mike for the awesome smoked sausage, cheddar and the time chatting sharing a Tequila on the porch after a great day fishing! Thanks Ham for deciding to get out there with me on Sunday. Best day of all of all I think we had close to 10 doubles on the morning (who knows could have been more). Les tell your wife thanks for the carb free muffins, they were delicious. Rick, the Venison was superb... The dutch oven Apple Crisp was great. Duane, it was a pleasure getting to chat with you. I don't mean to leave anyone out.... it was my absolute pleasure getting to hang out with each and every one of you. Just a great bunch of people..... Thanks for a great time at Jigfest 2016!!! - Looking forward to 2017! Eric
  3. Ill be there, but I have to make it a half a day in the afternoon. I will be in flippin doing the last walkthrough on some property there.
  4. I ended up getting the nanofil hi viz 300 yds and some P-Line Fluoro based on Hams recommendation. I plan on leaving a bunch of braid on the spools as backing and just adding 100yds or so to each reel. will a nail to nail knot work ok for the connection of the nanofil to the braid or is there something better. This stuff is super thin even at 6lb. I have a nail knot tool that makes the job easier and its pretty much the same as a uni to uni knot. Also how much leader are you adding to the nano? We'll just see what happens with the wind. Thanks for the feedback.
  5. It looks like my boat is empty. if you have space in all the other boats I can leave it home. just let me know!
  6. nevermind.. what would you guys like me to bring down
  7. I will probably steer away from the hi vis stuff. I will definitely be using a leader. how does this cast using light jigs on ultralight tackle?
  8. how does that 15# cast with light jigs?
  9. Cheapest I found was 55 a month in a secure enclosed storage no electric. Gladly I'm all set now for storage needs. My offer on a place in Flippin was accepted. Hope to close right after the jigfest
  10. Guys i ended up putting an offer in on a commercial building in Flippin with all the secure storage I could ever need 4300sq ft.. I will probably rent out RV storage for the rest of it I don't use. Plus it has a finished section for living quarters - a bonus so I don't have to rush and get the garage built on my ground at Reds landing. May even sell that now that I have this place.
  11. What would you recommend from today's crop of line offerings? My Jiggin rods are in need of some new line. Some are medium some are stiffer fast action rods. Plan to update all of them. I plan to put on braid and a fluoro leader. Just have not been in the market for line in a while and was looking for some suggestions on brands. looking for feedback and experience with whatever brands you might suggest. Thanks Eric
  12. Ill be there Thursday - Sat. Ill have my boat and can easily take two others.
  13. I'm Leaving Iowa wednesday and should be there thursday friday and saturday now.
  14. Hey Snagged, we should have a beer some night while I'm down in St Charles. When I'm down at our office we hit several places in St. Charles, hendricks ribs and trail head.
  15. Thanks Snagged! I figured I'd try here first. I wanted to pick something up local in the mountain home area that I can buy and pull to the building I am buying in Flippin. This way I dont have to haul back and forth to Iowa. I have two boats, the one is all set with a trailer.. When I fish the Norfork I will use my inflatable.. I'm all set for the drift boat. What is the craigslist location closest to MTN home? I see several to choose from but most seem to be closer to little rock. Eric
  16. Looking for a small trailer to haul my Scadden Excalibur inflatable pontoon. Eric
  17. Hi All, I would like to be able to leave my boat down here instead of towing it back and forth to Iowa. I have called around a couple of the self storage places looking for a closed shed but its hit and miss regarding availability. As of now nothing is available. I plan on building a garage on my place in Reds Landing so I will need temporary storage for a few months. Do any of you know any places that are reputable and secure that I might call. I am coming down next week and will hit all the self storage places again, maybe something will open up. Any suggestion would be helpful! Eric

    Jig Fest 2016

    I could do Nov too.
  20. Hey Guys, Is there going to be a Jig Fest this year? I had a blast last year and although I have a business Trip Dec 5-9th this year I would love to join you guys again if the timing is right. I'll be keeping an eye out for the announcement. Hope to see you guys again this year. Eric
  21. It was terrific meeting all of you! Special thanks to Griz for taking me in his boat and Terrierman it was my pleasure fishing with you on Saturday. Had a blast! Hope to do it again soon!. I know you guys that call the White River home turf and fish all the time were somewhat disappointed in the conditions and numbers being caught, but from my perspective it was pretty awesome. I am already having withdrawals and jonesing to come back down. Ham, I'm sure we'll get a chance to fish real soon. I will be back down to get the septic perc done and after that passes (fingers crossed) get the foundation in. While I didn't bring home many pictures, I have lots of fond memories of this trip that covered 2100 miles. I met new friends, ate great food, and had a terrific time. I got to steelhead fish for the first time in my life. I picked up my new drift boat. I fished the White River in Michigan and the White River in Arkansas in the same trip. I caught trout in both States. I enjoyed an entire day soaking up the scenery and checking out my new stomping grounds while boating upriver from Reds landing to Riley's station and then back down breaking in my motor. Best of all I got to just disconnect from the every day grind with some honest to goodness good people! I did managed to bring home a broken front tooth to remember it by as well. Thats fixed now Cant wait to come back for Jig fest 4!
  22. If you have room on the floor I'd like to meet up with you guys. I will be leaving Michigan early tuesday morning after some steelhead fishing and arriving down there later in the evening on tuesday. Wed I meet with the excavator Angus Kreiner to get my driveway put in on the new place and spend the day clearing the lot. I will likely fish thursday from the norfork to Reds Landing just to get to know my new stomping grounds. If anyone wants to join me I have room. I will head towards Reiley's some time in the afternoon. I'll have my hammock and tarp so if there is no room inside I know a pair of trees I can use that I used last time I stayed at Reiley's Station. Let me know if I can pick up something for the dinners. It'll have to be something from Harps if thats ok.
