I launche about 1 and really didn't see that many people. I want to float from hooten town to galena that should be a nice float I hear hardly any one floats that

Nice fish I went from Kerr to galena and caught one small mouth and a buch of bluegill did see a nice size small mouth and largemouth just couldn't get them to bite

I thought the same thing but I asked a conservation agent and he said no the state owns soo much of the bank and the water

It didn't take two days flats for that then got off around the first access point near nixa te river was rising and getting dangerous. And had to port twice an a few logs we're in the way

Than for the info. I will try it this weekend hopefully catch some fish but if not I will have fun doing it

What kind of flys should I use? I got some small ones that came with the fly rod. And we're should I cast at when I'm fishing for bass and blue gill and small mouth

Well I started out on a flaot trip with me an my buddy from the bottom of springfield lake darn to galena on Monday. Te fishing was great that we got in for the two days that was good . Some nice size smallmouth and large mouth and a few blue gill and and green sunfish and a couple of catfish. Then the tier started to rise because of the rain and got muddy so we got off the river. It was a short trip wish I could have finished it but didn't want to risk it anymore. Hopefully I can do a trip I'm the fall. It was a great few days from work and out of the city much needed time away.

I reacentley got a fly rod and has some flys that came with it and I am really interested bass fishing with my fly rod and maybe some blue gill and google eye also is there any good rivers near springfield or in the south west missouri that are good rivers for a beginner to learn on and catch some?

The biggest I have caught out of tr is 4lbs and that was 4 years ago

I agree mine also I have a lot of luck with small mouth and large mouth and cats in that strech has to be one of my favorite stretches of the river. I want to try one day from galena to we're the river hits the lake I think that will be some fun fishing

That's a nice fish my dad's buddy has some like like Maybe a little bigger in his pound in his front yard but they get big because he feeds them. I love takkng my little cousins there to catch them thou they get a kick out of it

That is true they caint own the water or soo much of the bank that the river is own that belongs to the state

The bank like on the rocks is we're i do. Most land owners won't say anything of you clean up your mess after your done and don't so anything stupid. Like start a Forrest fire

I'm floating firm the dam to galena. And so far having down good luck on rebel crawls and rooste tails and some small jigs but the river is up

I feel you you smalliebigs I hate to see fish that big bein taken. They need to be let go.

Very nice small mouth the biggest I have ever caught was 11 inches out of the James river

Than for the Info I jut launches from the darn about oh 2 hours ago me and my buddy for our float trip we already caught some small largemouth and some green sunfish which we are keeping fr dinner. And also about a 3lbs channel catfish on a rebel crawl.

I have been having a lot of luck on live cr dad's with the gogle eye and some little small mouth have been biting them. I have seen some nice size large mouth swim by the canoe but I caint ever get them to bite

I do plan on camping I'm taking my vacation and need a much get away from the city. I also thought about just floating it down to galena would be a nice 3 or 4 day float. Am I hear by river cut there is some really good smallmouth and large mouth bass all throu there. I was going to run a trout line at night and catch some catfish.

I will let you know how it goes. I am planning on going to float from springfield lake darn to hooten town hardly know one fishes from the darn to the first access point
