  1. They are, walleye too. Thursday night they were actively spawning in parkers shoals.
  2. I saw them as far up as parkers.
  3. Of all the talk the Ned rig gets I, somehow, have a question I've never seen brought up. Ned at night? Anyone doing that? I've caught river fish on tubes at night. I will try it out soon but was still wanting input.
  4. They put down their guard after the sun sets?
  5. Caught whites on that thing too.
  6. This is at night, I was throwing a black bugger.
  7. 21 1/2" on the fly.
  8. Caught Monday night. I hope the rain doesn't screw up the bite.
  9. You shooting mallards with that recurve?
  10. I love it. Just very untypical for beaver. I have an inflatable pontoon so I'm a row boater as well.
  11. What do you mean "row boat"?
  12. Trout, smallmouth, white bass, panfish, carp. In that order.
  13. Doesn't look like its swimming any more......
  14. I think the link is that minnow fishermen don't normally catch and release. I remember seeing a lady catch a nice smallmouth on the mulberry years ago, as she fought it in she informed me they only bite "baby bream". She then put it on a stringer. The mulberry isn't a brown fish hot spot. I was a teenager and I was furious.
  15. I had a 21 1/2" 'eye last night below beaver. Wasn't too skinny though.
  16. Yea the mulberry isn't exactly loaded with smallmouth either. I'm always looking for a new tactic/fly to give me an edge. I know in a couple weeks I will be in the solid summer bite.
  17. I love smallmouth, and I love the fly rod. But this time of year it can be tough to get em on the fly. Between swift currents, and spawning fish I struggled Saturday. I went to the best strip of brown fish creek I know of and I caught fish, 10-12 but no size and I'm used to 30+ when I wade that later in the year. I really wish I would have left the fly rod at home and fished a ned or something. I did pick up a few on a wiggle minnow and missed several that seemed like better fish but I finally put on a weighted leader and a crazy dad and picked up several more. Also there was a huge fly hatch. There were some big mayflies in the bunch and some fish were targeting them and my bite stopped altogether. Anyone else get into that this time of year? I'm gonna take my spinning/bait casting gear next time.
  18. I haven't been, last time they seemed to be actively spawning and not interested in feeding much. I'm sure they are still around.
  19. Yea they have nearly a 1/3 of the entire lake blocked. It's crazy. I miss the days when it was under construction. Best fishing of my life. They eventually drained Shepard down to just a few acres. I caught an 18 1/2" crappie when it was like that.

    Dry run

We did awesome, had several over 20" and like 10 in between 16-20". A bunch of smaller ones too. I'll try to post pics later.

    Dry run

That is the #1 piece of advice I've received.

    Sweet. Thanks.
  23. How about that font!?

    Dry run

Nice. We should do fine as long as the creek doesn't get up too much.
  25. Planning on taking a youngster this Saturday if the rain doesn't fall too hard. I've never been but I hear good things?. Any specific advice?
