  1. So it's a no go for wade fishing on the crooked Creek this weekend? Even on the upper end?
  2. That creek you're on floods all the time too. I always figured it would be tough for those fish to spawn.
  3. I did not. I honestly didn't know that was a real thing.
  4. Fished from midnight til around 3 a.m. Caught 10-12 including a 15" bow and a fat 13" brown. I've become very confident with the burnt orange leech but a tandem rigged set of buggers worked the best last night. Black followed by yellow. Fished around parkers and right next to the dam.
  5. There are a handful of non venomous water snakes in Mo. Not just one kind.
  6. I like to get a pre spawn bite most years but tend to hold off and let them do there thing. Mid May I will be back in the saddle.
  7. I'll be honest, it sounds like a challenge. I'm not afraid of snakes but of course I'm not very comfortable around cotton mouths.
  8. They are definitely not bad for the lake. A "catch and release" bow fisherman must have told you that.
  9. I fished lake ft smith again last night and did very well.
  10. Yea that sounds rough.
  11. Nice. Are you starting at the boat ramp or do you have another access?
  12. The middle fork or the main fork?
  13. I only use them for whites. Never had much luck with smallmouth.
  14. It used to be a lot better. We have struggled the last few years.
  15. Almost need the 7 to sling em.
  16. All you need are clousers. I like a white/grey or white/brown. I know combos with brighter colors work too. It's a fast, 3 strip, pause retrieve.
  17. Yep. Full of them.
  18. I saw 4 people bank fishing and one boat way off in the distance. How many people do you think were at twin bridges yesterday? 300?
  19. I posted this in another forum but I want to make sure more people see it. I can't stand the crowds at the normal white bass spots but I love white bass on the fly rod. I grew up in Winslow and I fish lake fort smith. Might not have the hybrids or walleye but for someone who likes slinging that rod it's hard to beat. Solitude, beauty, and of course fish. There is a parking spot on the upper end of the lake and if you cross the creek there is a very wad able section. We caught several this evening and another week it should be on like donkey kong. I caught my fish on a clouser. If anyone needs more info send me a pm. I don't mind giving the info because I'm too busy to fish. Someone should be enjoying it.

  22. When you cross a river on the interstate it is protocol to switch to the right lane for a better view. I don't make the rules......
  23. Just because you don't hear about the trout crack doesn't mean it isn't catching fish. Awesome dropper fly.
  24. You should fly rod........always fly rod.
  25. Shreveport
