I don't understand the hate for the biologist. I assume you criticize the Corp of engineers too. Their findings are based on science and they absolutely have the best intentions in mind, whether you agree with them or not.

Just do a float, then figure out the shuttle later. I'm sure you will find a ride.

Usually take a canoe,pick an access, go a 1/2-1 miles. Then paddle back to the car. The fishing is almost always really good.

I keep waiting for the river to drop so I can do my fav summer ritual, night fish the Elk. Still waiting.

I did alright down by the dam with those brown fish. Had a couple in the 15" range and a mean mouth that was a little better than that. All caught on a jig with a zoom speed vibe craw. I threw a spinnerbait a little and a buzzbaits a little but nothing doing. I put in at 11:30, picked up around 2:15.

How good is the night bite right now? I'm gonna try to hit the dam end one night this week.

I love catching them and I'm willing to spend money to throw them back. I just find it humorous when you see/hear people acting like catching a limit is a cheap dinner. Maybe that's why so many keep multiple limits per day.

Ok, by bait I mean tackle, I fly fish so that includes tippet, leaders, indicator, and such. I'm in Arkansas so I buy a day permit plus the trout tag. $10.
