  1. That is not good news, that tailwater could be considers my "home water". Looks like the fishing will be down all summer.
  2. I like to keep my trout in the stream, swimming freely. Ever done the math on how much a limit of trout costs from roaring river? For me it would be $10 for a tag, $10 in gas, $10 for bait. I can buy a lot of tilapia with $30. Peacan crusted......mmmmmm
  3. Aren't there rules at roaring river about having your name on your stringer or something? Might double check that.
  4. It's funny cause every night the same group of locals gather on the dock to "fish" and drink beer. Quite the crowd.
  5. No it yak friendly. We spend some time out there, cat fishing mainly but it has some standing timber. It's a small lake.
  6. I'm considering bass fishing near the dam tonight, after dark. Is it just gonna be a waste of time?
  7. The Osage get so much run off it floods easily.
  8. Once again, if they draw it down and the system misses us, they will catch hell, don't draw it down, they catch hell. The COE cannot win. They are the professionals, they know what they're doing. Have you seen the forecast on this system? They don't know what it's going to do once it gets caught up in our jet stream. So the weather guy said 4 days ago that it was heading this way? Has the weather man ever been wrong?
  9. Also they had no idea this system would move in 2 weeks later. It's a gamble, hold water/leave the gates open. I thought for sure after the last event that it would dry out. Imagine the criticism of they dropped it 15', then we entered a huge drought.
  10. Grafite is conductive. Fiberglass is not. It wasn't a big storm. Only a strike or two.
  11. The rain that moved thru earier was pretty "real".
  12. Yea that clearish water allows them to hang deep.
  13. I hope you found an ecape. If they are not running water it is possible to find the fish in a yak with the fly rod. If they are running(preferably one unit) then a person can find fish in the eddies out of a yak but in that situation I prefer spinning gear and spoons. You talking about the war eagle creek or lake arm?
  14. Buffalo gnats is my guess. Got into some last weekend.
  15. I'd just stay out of the elk tribs.......big snakes or something. ???
  16. Natural selection at work.
  17. Sounds like rednecks at it again. the atv crowd can all ride their rigs off a bluff as far as I care.
  18. Are there any wading opportunities Jim?
  19. Yea........I think I will chase smallmouth for a couple months.
  20. I just remember the tailwaters being backed up forever, finally I nailed down a pattern that involved a kayak, #16 midges, set 4-6' deep.
  21. Oh man it looked good today, these gotta be the best couple weeks all year. Take your vacation time!!!!!

    Dry run

Yea we got one about 18" on a para Adams in the upper pool that's only about 16" deep. There was a good brown up there the kid wanted but they were a little spooky.
  23. I caught like 10-15. Caught a few on a fluke but the best bite was on a wacky rig. It's full of moss and weeds, missed a few on a hollow bodied frog.
  24. My fav creek is springfed and I believe the fish are more active after the sun warms the water a little.
