  1. I tooka guy fishing the other day and I accepted water, and a snickers bar in payment. Also we used his boat and I showed him some of my good spots.Am I a guide?NO WAY> I enjoy fishing too much to screw it up and make a job outta it,,,HAHAHAHA.Let the games begin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  2. Went to K Dock area today and caught fish....Actually my fist cast with my new fireline was a looped up mess and when I realed it back in there was a 15 inch crappie on my pole.First cast mind you, which usually is the kiss of death for luck. But my luck continued. It was a 6 hour struggle but I limited out on very nice sized crappie. The whites where surfacing but I actually stayed on my crappie task at hand. The fish are on the bottom, on top of brush piles and stomachs are full of shad.It was a blast.Have a blessed day.
  3. Hes tellin the truth. The waters a little cooler up that way.Crappie are to be found in that area to.Monday I saw several large schools of whites. One school was of larger, not huge , but larger fish.Didnt chase them as I just couldnt leave the crappie alone. And it does sound like waterfalls honest
  4. Terry you thinkin of the sammy lane, the lake queen is on the landing now.Its a museum slash bar now
  5. Look on the bright side. You could be a crappie guide .Heck most crappie fisherman cant find there way back to the ramp after a half day of actually having to find fish on their own
  6. Bill how bout a little cash for clunkers rebate???? Seriously If you need a tax break just call me .Ill take it off your hands and be proud to use her for my crappie fishing expiditions.Did I mention I have delusions of grandor occasionly.
  7. All ritgh sam, Im goin in the morning, the boats hooked up and ready to go, Im gonna try for crappie but prolly will play with the whites also,
  8. Man What a differance a day makes.Sundays are crazy down on K.I went yesterday instead of my usual monday.Didnt see near as many surfacing fish for all the boat traffic.Did catch my limit in nice sized crappie. It seems this year 11 to 15 inch crappie are the norm.Hardley any shorts to speak of.I been reading all the talk of 25 foot fish.If you stay there your gonna miss out on a lot of nice fish on 10 to 15 foot depth tree falls. I know people are catching because I see the regulars and visit with them on the ramp during the noon hours on their way back to the house.Get out and enjoy.
  9. Bill ,its my understanding the tree took off his trolling motor ,front pedastal and him.His wife said she heard a loud pop and turned to look and he was gone.Needless to say she didnt know how to operate the watercraft and had a hard time shutting it down. With only a cell phone in tha dark she did a good job summoning help even under terribly anxious circumstances.I also belive if the tree was gone it would cause problems identifying the Island,BUT, this time the tree was the culpret.Even though its a wonder the boat didnt ground but kept going. Also I need it known that my information is not first hand info, but from a very close friend of the deceased and fellow worker who I know and trust .I pray to the Heavenly Father , every day , for the safe return off of the lake when I go out.Now even more that I know even an expierenced boater could be taken so fast.Have a blessed evening.
  10. The Island causes problems, but this time it was the tree that caused the accident.I was a coworker of Dicks and I too believe the tree should be removed and the island marked .When I was a young boy a boater lost his life in the same location.Im amazed it hasnt caused more problems.Capt Joe , you know who his employer was, maybe they can be persuaded to donate to your cause and memorial.I really enjoyed talking to Dick and hearing of his fishing escapades and I will certainly miss him.
  11. Had a wonderful morning on Bull Shoals today.Actually got to park on kdock parking lot.Boat ran fine.Caught 7 huge and I mean huge crappie and so many whites my arms are still aching.I know it sounds far fetched but I think the white population has increased hundred fold over past years. One 5 minute span I think I saw 2 acres of fish surfacing. The ramp didnt tell they story though .Only 6 rigs parked there and only saw 3 boats out and none of them had bigger then a 75 horse motor. So it was kinda quiet on the traffic side.I havent been out in so long I just had to brag.Prolly wont be there tommorrow but sure was fun today.Thank you Lord......
  12. His name was Richard Herringer. He went by Dick.He was night fishing, for a tournament I belive that is tonite. His wife works at BP also and they retired here and loved fishing very much.I only knew him from work , But he was a very plesent man and knew his fishing well.I know Ill miss him.Hes in a better place then we are but please pray for his lovely wife and family as they cope with this loss

  23. Saw some whites surfacing very early, before the wind, caught several kentukies all about 10 inches long and fought a 4 foot long gar just for the heck of it.I really didnt have much fun this morning . maybe try again tommorrow.............................I decided to wash my truck and rake the yard..........then went to moonshine beach and played in the sand with my girls........................then ate dinner and looked at both posts on this site.Is everyone fishing or cleaning their garages out
  24. I Know the lakes very high, and we have to launch off the road, but has anyone tried lately down there? Is there any topwater activity early?Any one caught any crappie? Are the bolders moved at the old campground entrance for trailer parking?I want to fish tommorrow and really hope for a decent report or just some one to tell me to stay home and mow my yard and clean up my garage....................
