  1. Just last year a friend of mine asked me to go farm pond fishing with him.I have only fished muddy north missouri ponds and caught catfish, but he promised bass and huge bluegill. The pond is with in 1 hour of my home, is on a dairy farm of all things and was not impressive lookin to say the least. It was cold and kinda rainy but neither of us had a chance to fish for a while so we were up to it.To make a long story short we had a blast.the redear sunfish in the pond where so fat and big you couldnt tell if it was a bass or a sunfish till you first saw them.We caught fish till we got tired and were using a variety of lures just to se if they would work, not because of lack of activity. And the only thing more impressive then the fishin was wacthin the approx 10 year old girl on the four wheeler escorting 50 dairy cows to the barn for milkin, I had never seen such a thing.Course we didnt have to round up much when i was a kid cept couple cats and a few stray dogs .Have a wonderful day
  2. carp are fun to catch ill admit, but I have never eaten one.Ive never actually fished for them, they always intrigued me at the docks as a kid and i always thought of them as giant gold fish.Do you really eat those things
  3. Im not sure if it was to capacity but it cetainly looked imposing. I think its for condo owners myself. There will be twice the parking when all construction trailers and equip are moved but it mite be a long hike.I can also say none of the folks I saw were fishin type folks. These are shoppers.Bass pro will have sportsman, but I saw 4 or 5 shoe stores, many clothing stores for the hip crowd and honest I saw a pair of sandles on sale for 99 dollars,,,,,,,,,,,not for this hillbilly.I guess ill be a walmart supporter for a while longer
  4. my family and I went for a stroll down at the landing after church.I was impressed by what ive seen so far. When its finished it will really be something.I have always been skeptical of the thing and its just open so who knows, Im wonderin what it will be like when the tall buildings are built , on both sides of the lake. Can there be enough parking?the lots were full on sunday and only half the stores open.I can also see a good thing, you can take the roundabout to long street and skip the afternoon line to cross the lake, or at least most of the line.
  5. Wenton my first creek fishin trip today.Me and a coworker decided to try swan at the hulls ford slab.We walked downstream and used a variety of lures. It didnt look good at first and then we saw a family coming up from downstream with a very respecable stringer of fish.I figured they are all caught.Boy was I wrong. We prolly caught and released 50 fish in 2 hours in the ripples. Some were very nice up to 2 lbs, most were smaller but they where very good fighters. The stream was very clear and still cool, saw several nice trout in the creek also.
  6. OH God the things I could type.10,000,000 high school., they are selling 3 bedroom homes in my neighborhood for 300.000.00 10 million dont sound like much huh.The BRANSON LANDING is here to stay.I really dont like it but it isnt mine and I didnt own any land in the area and I wasnt asked my permision. This is a double edged sword. You say the lake and the area is a gift from God,and I whole heartedly agree. But dont you think the jobs that bring good people whether they be local or from mexico, money to feed and clothe their families also gifts from God? I know residents argue they want it the way that it used to be,simpler. Well it aint gonna happen folks.I myself have lost my love for the town because of differant things that have happened in the name of the almitey dollar and nothing else. One always wants more , more , more but seldom achieve it.I myself am happy with my menial job, my lovely wife and my 3 straight A students Who by the way go to branson public schools, schools i was scared to death of because of size and new folks. Boy was I wrong.Branson has wonderful schools, staff and resources. Now heres my Pitch.............I know why there is so many jobs and no one to work,,,but the people are everywhere right? How can anyone afford to live in or around branson for 8 dollars an hour?you cant, why would anyone want to work 2 jobs to pay RENT?I also am privey to future employment numbers for the landing and one thousand of those jobs are to be our spanish speaking friends. Now how many new homes are being sold to them>?how many checks , or credit cards has your business recieved from them? These folks are smart, cash, cash , cash and they are buying land in their home country and retireing. They think we are money rich, and lazy???Well some of us are.Ha ha ha

  8. went to kdock today, didnt attend church so that usually means boat probs, rain, broke pole etc, but to my delite I found crappie.I had to catch approx. 30 fish to keep 5 keepers, but the smallest keeper was 14 inches,,,,,,no lie here,,,,,and to top it all off the tree i fished was out of the water 2 weeks ago,,,,approx 4 feet of water. And all the while I was watchin ski boats launching from the ramp and lookin at bikinis.I love the kdock area to fish .bye all and good fishin
  9. SD the landing is indeed in my backyard.I live in a small subdivision between lakeshore drive estates and the mount branson area.It was a quiet neighborhood of 8 homes but now some jackass has bought 10 or so acres and is gonna build 52 houses.claims to be a neigbor at county meetings but I aint seen him .At least the landing hasnt taken the culdesac area away so now I cant even turn the ole crappie fishin battleship around.Ill sell you my 4 bedroom home thats 10 years old on one third acre for 300 large and ill even throw in a couple of bob tail cats that love crappie inards
  10. the lake was originally named after an indian buck who was in love with a indian maiden on the other side. One day he was so blinded by love he jumped into the lake and tried to swim accross.Thw water wwas to swift and cold for him and he soon drowned.the lake was named after this young man, it was for years called lake stupid
  11. im the guy with the black silverado and the blue champion python, please tell me if skippin church sunday will be worth the trouble on the home front.I think you guys are all wet on the deep crappie, i caught some lastweek still with bloody eggs in them, has the lake turned that bad???,Has any one seen the whites surfacing south of k dock?, are they there yet? how much trash still floating on banks, I only get to go to the lake occasionally I dont get to scope it out ahead of time anymore, Its kinda a crap shoot when i get there and i got to work with what i got.Thank God its friday
  12. come on guys, the branson landing is huge money coming to town, money that wasnt made in taney county and isnt gonna stay in taney county. It aint going away. Some say change is good but I think change only helps the ones who allow it to help them.Take advantage of this, selll your house for 3 times what you paid for it and get what you want.Bransopn stopped being my home a long timwe ago, I was born and raised here and my parents are still living here sop I stay, Trust me its not the meca its made out to be.Drive over to little towns east of here 40 miles and get out of your car, listen to the birds, and its so quiet you can here a car 5 miles away.Thats living and dont forget .Oh and spell check isnt workin so yes im a hillbilly and dont forget it
  13. thank goodness for the water patrol, highway patrol and day care workers.all do their jobs, all have to be paid.I admit boat fees going up do upset me , but its seems very little compared to food , gas, etc.I would like to see a water patrol on bull shoals on missouri side occasionaaly though.just cause its a quiet lake compared to lake of the ozarks or table rock dont mean it doesnt get stupid out there.they dont ned a cigerete boat down there either.a good open bow boat and a friendly wave will do more for respect then fast boat and attitude.lilley help me off the stump , I seem to have climbed too high
  14. lilley i was talkin to the guide with the 16 foot richline.twenty dollars worth of worms, hooks and baloney sandwiches.
  15. speakin of controversy,,,,,I bet johnny morris has nitemares knowing his multimillion dollar industry is hosting 275 doll;ar a day guides to fish with nitecrawlers.heeeeheeeeheeee
  16. Ive had nothin but trouble with ole blue the fishin wagon.Had trouble with big motor and trollin motor has had better days also.Maybe have problems solved but need to know if i should even try bull shoals this weekend.Hows the water . Is it muddy as all get out? Also how fast is it rising, how much junk floating in lake?Id drive over there but my wifey poo has my truck lookin for hunny do stuff while im not fishin. Please help a fellow get back into the fishin is great house work can wait mode . oh god shes pricin carpet!!!!!!
  17. I have also seen ospreys on bull shoals.seems like this time of year and it is incredible the force they hit the water
  18. It is comforting knowing I share my favorite pastime with fellow christians. The Lord is risen, he is risen indeed !!!!!!!!!!
  19. very true, I hunted on my fathers place on bee creek road yesterday and found 40 and a golf ball.It has several springs and is damp lots of the time.Big yellow ones .If you want to make a land owner happy give him a sack of mushrooms and keep the golfball.I know it will bring me many good returns.Remember some of the old timers cant get in the woods and its a favorite thing , means spring is here for them and if they cant trip around in the woods , make them realize that they are still here. Have a wonderful day lilley
  20. when my wife and I first got married 20 years ago, we lived in whats known as blue ridge estates. This wasnt the most desireable neigborhood and was located in the sticks close to ark. line.We both were warned from a resident there to watch our housecat around the mountain lion.I didnt believe him at all till one night very late we glimsed the cat crossing a field in the headlites of my truck. That was the only time I saw it.Also a gentleman lived in the area with a african lion that he raised >very true<,,,But I belive that when the family of bigfoot moved into turkey creek bottom the sightings diminished greatly
