  1. Left Little Aunts area around 10 and shot straight up the James and fished from Point 11 on up. Expected to really struggle post front but wound up with 16 total and 4 keepers. Only consistent bite was on the crank-8 wart and 1 Crawler fish. Also picked up 3 on a jerk and my first 3 Ned fish ever. Thanks to Dave for the jig heads and to all on this forum for all of the info. Another tool in the arsenal now. Water had great color and some stain. Found water as warm as 56.5 and as cool as 49. Seemed the farther up we went the warmer it got so we kept heading farther up. Wind was brutal but found most fish on those windy banks that were just getting beat to death. If you could stand it, it was rewarding for sure. All fish were caught in under 12 ft of water and we caught our last fish around 4:30. Hopefully some of this is helpful to some of you. Spend too much time reading and not enough time contributing to this great forum. Down until Sunday then back end of April for 10 days. Thanks again to everyone on here for the open and transparent dialogue. It is really helpful to folks like me who live elsewhere and only get those precious few days on the water.
  2. Fish are looking so healthy. Awesome to see! Heading down from STL Wednesday night just in time for temps in 20s and 30s again...hope some of the fishing holds up. Can't wait to get on that beautiful body of water!
  3. Loved being able to watch the live coverage the last couple days...totally believe that how I fish is not wrong after watching these guys live as opposed to seeing pieced together clips. Watching guys swing and miss (just like me), fish too fast (just like me), stay with one thing too long (again just like me). Just really cool to watch them did what they do (just like me). Granted I don't make my living fishing, but it is good to know and gives me more confidence in what I do when I get the chance out on the water. To see those guys humanized and scrambling like me when I fish a tourney, makes me feel that much better. Not sure the point of this, but sure have enjoyed the last couple days watching The Classic!
  4. Just orders them from Dave. He was very helpful. Looking forward to using them and offering my feedback as well.
  5. I know I should be able to find this info on the Forum somewhere but can't seem to find it fast enough...where is the best place to get the "Ned Heads" if you will? Would rather give my money to someone in this Forum than go out generically and support the big guns. Any suggestions and a road map to solve my need would be appreciated...thanks all!
  6. Fish almost exclusively with my brother or one of my two teenage daughters. Fished alone a lot in the past but not anymore. Love the company, the comraderie and the love associated with having those people in the boat with me. Can't imagine it any other way nowadays...
  7. Thanks for saying what the vast majority of us were thinking Bill! Appreciate the forum and want to stay a part of it. Hopefully, that privilege isn't made unavailable due to the few...
  8. How big was that rainbow?
  9. Thanks to all for the feedback...lots of great info on this forum and appreciate the sharing environment. Hope to be able to share some insights (and hopefully some successes) during my trips this Spring. Fish on!!!
  10. Awesome fish! Love catching SM on TR like no other. I have a question though...I get to fish Table Rock only 3-4 times a year. We usually have pretty solid success slowly dragging tubes in the Spring. I have never fished the Ned...is the retrieve similar or should there be more action? Coming down in late March and might like to try a new technique. Appreciate the forum and any insights.
  11. Awesome catch!
  12. Actually caught 2 keeps that helped cash a little check in the Aunts Creek Tourney a couple weekends ago on a fluke...weren't the only ones we caught on it either. Bite was not bangin on it though.
