Thanks for the report. I just got back from the gulf shores last night..... and after reading this striper report I’m going to be out tomorrow morning!! Always excited to read ur reports.
I read 2 pages of this and had to stop. Maybe some one has already posted what happened but, it was a nice man that was building the “castle” . He had been doing it for several years but unfortunately he fell to his demise from a scaffolding. So now it sits unfinished. I remember when it happed, it was a tragedy for sure.
I just got back from a 110 mile solo kayak trip last night on the current river. I woke up today wanting to fish ol beave’s so I got the boys ready and headed to the lake. I wasn’t expecting much success sense I haven’t been on the lake all week and didn’t know what was going on. But I was pleasantly surprised with the bite. I had bought some crappie minnows for the boys to use and pitched them about lay downs and caught quite a few fish. We must have caugh 20 or so but only kept 10 or so. I wasn’t really keeping count cuz the boys had me busy helping them. If ur into crappie this would be a good time to go. My 9 and 7 year olds tore them up for a few hours today. Here’s a couple of pics.

Was from a small tornado a year ago or two. My buddies parents have a dock in that cove and that’s I was told. there was a few more damaged docks that have since been repaired.
I can usually find fish, but staying on top of them is a whole other story. Stripers and whites move a bunch. Now I’m able to see if they went left or right of the boat and I can follow accordingly. I’ve only been out twice sense I got in put on. Hopefully next week I can hit it hard and get some better pics and maybe a few fish...... btw, those photos do not do it Justice!! It’s a lot clearer in person
Finally got the helix 12 installed and the 100 hour service done on the Yamaha. I’ll be out tomorrow most of the day I think. I’m sure I have some tweaking to do on the trasducer but I don’t expect it to be too much of a problem. I’ll report back with some pics. Hopefully with some nice shots of the 12 to share.
