Did pretty good in the prairie creek area. Got some nice spots from 5-730. Then got several whites, hybrids and even a couple of keeper striper later in the evening. All top water action.
Mike, I'm heading out today after, or if, this rain passes. I'll launch out of prairie creek when I do.. There's lots of fish in the area. Or at least they was Tuesday.
I head up to the darn today and the flood gates were open. I was glad to see that sense I had brought the boys and really want them to see it. I never did see on any app or website when gates would be open but was glad that they were.
But honesty I'm not that tech savvy.
Is there a link to see when they open flood gates. It's a awesome sight, but the only time I've seen them open was by accident when I'd head over there to trout fish. I'd like to take wife and kids over there for them to see it. I've looked around and could only find generation schedule.
Mike there siting in 15-20 FOW.. Some days they'll come up for baits other days u have to fish'em slower and deeper. Got lucky last week and caught a heck of a smallmouth on a jig... Must have been every bit of 2 1/2 pounds. For me that's on the bigger side for smallies.
Man good Questions. I haven't tried to fish shallow in a while. I'm catching all bass off points with deep water near by. That seems to be the ticket for me. But I haven't been out since last week Thursday.... And that to me is a long time without fishing. Lol. Especially on beaver. Things change fast.
Well I had planned on being on the river this weekend.... But this weather is holding me back. But hey, what can I do. Guess just wait it out. Does anybody have a water level report? Fishing report?
I love float the current.... I'm waiting on a clear stretch of weather to head out there. I'm wanting to do cedar grove to two rivers. Maybe 6-8 days of camping. Darn weather has kept me home though. Glad u guys did have to cancel ur tip.
That's a great knot. I learned it by a different name ( modified Albright). But whatever u wanna call it, it works great. Great report btw.. makes me want to head back up there...
I headed out to Indian creek about 1pm. Water temp was 67-71 degrees. I was out looking for some smaller spotted bass to take home for dinner. I did manage to get a few in the boat. I guess what really surprised me was the smallie bite that I got into. Landed well over 15 of them mean dudes. A few that were in the 2 pound class. All and all was a good day. All fish were caught 2-10 feet deep.
I'm hoping to float memorial day weekend. Keeping fingers crossed for good weather and water levels. I'll be taking my cousin out on a multi day float for his first time and am really excited to share the experience with him.
I'm not a 100% on the road either. I will be heading out that way this weekend to do some scouting (get my bearings). Both floats r great though. Marble to marshals ford or marshals ford to rock house road. Plenty of gravel banks to camp on. Rock house road access has camping also, if I remember correctly. In case u come in late and want to camp one more night. I've left my old beater truck a both spots without any problems. But again it's an old beater so I can't imagine anybody messing with it. There's also an outfitter for the Kings u may want to call. There right on the water and can give a decent water level report. "Kings river outfitters" is what they're called I have the # somewhere. PM me if u need it.
