  1. I think there will be as they're charging $10 a night for camping. Not sure how often they will be checking since it's good distance for the Park Rangers to drive, probably will be the Roaring River Rangers since they are closer. You can check with the Roaring River or Table Rock office to be sure though.
  2. Just wanted to let everyone know that Viney Creek will be open all winter for boat launch and primitive camping. It is being managed by Roaring River and Table Rock state parks now so they're keeping the gates open
  3. Try calling on channel 16 and see if anyone answers. You are permitted to make contact on that channel to test the operation of the radio.
  4. Had to share! When all else fails..... .
  5. No such thing as a bad day of fishing; it's just that some days are better than others!
  6. RPS is an excellent teacher! Thoroughly enjoyed going out with him today and getting some schooling on Walleye fishing. Hopefully between him and Quillback I'll be able to catch more fish on TR. Now if we were going after Red fish in the coastal water ways of Louisiana I could be the teacher, they rarely get more than about 5 feet deep and will hit anything that a bass would Thanks again RPS for the Walleye lesson
  7. Yep, people like me.....if it wasn't for Quillback and this forum I would still be going in circles trying to figure this lake out
  8. I'll sell you the waypoints of Quillback's best fishing spots for $150.00 each, guaranteed to be accurate within +/- five miles
  9. Step way from the computer!!!! Take a deep breath and think "Do I really need this?"..........now order it!
  10. Treble hooks....I just can't see how a fish can spit them out the way they do. When these hooks are out of the water they will snag anything within 2 feet of them and wont let go. I have numerous puncture wounds in my fingers and hands from them. On one occasion I had to pull one out of my foot with pliers (long painful story). They will hang up on anything in your boat and not let go, so how in the world does a fish manage to sling them out so easy?
  11. Yea I think I would have let the poles be and headed for cover!
  12. Don't think so because all the Crappie I caught except one had eggs and they were in 10 to 15 fow. There was some small ones on the banks but the larger ones were in deeper water, about 20 to 30 ft from the bank
  13. Put in around 5'ish at Viola in hopes of beating the Saturday crowd and it payed off, for the first 2 hours I had the Kings all to myself. Was trolling flicker shads with the hopes of catching crappie but managed to catch a variety of species. The Uncle Rico color seemed to be the favorite and caught majority of the fish with Blue Tiger coming in second. Caught one 3 lb 2 oz White Bass which at the time I thought I was hung on a log or something, she put up one heck of a fight. Fished until the Crazies came out which was around noon time. WT was 64 to 66 Grand Talley 10 Crappie with 5 keepers 6 White Bass - Kept one of the smaller ones Approximately 18 Bass with 5 being keeper size - largest was a 3 lb LM 2 Catfish - caught on the Blue Tiger Flicker Shad
  14. Not sure about the scent attractant stuff but I would swear someone is spraying my lures with fish repellent.....and it works real good!

  16. Only the ones that have never put a boat in the water!
  17. Thanks for all the input, guess I'll buy some green line and give it a try and see for myself
  18. At the risk of opening up a great big can of worms; would the green colored fishing lines work better than fluorocarbon? I noticed a few reels at the OA tournament yesterday with green line so I was wondering it it made much difference. I've never used green line other than braid. Note: The two boats I noticed this green line in did not weigh a fish, so was it the line or person using said line the reason for not catching a fish worthy of weighing ...
  19. I'm not sure, I changed over my boat, motor and trailer from Arkansas last year but can't remember how much it was You should be able to find out the price online or call the DMV
  20. DMV and yes you will get new numbers. You will also get a sticker for your motor
  21. Home depot stays open late and they sell washing machines.....fish in the morning and shop at night
  22. Gates are locked at Viney Creek!! You can put in at Emerald Beach though! Or the old ramp at Sweat-water, it's a bit rough though and still has a lot of flood debris in the parking area
  23. Same deal for the "Access" card holder, went to renew my day pass today and was told I didn't have to buy it anymore...ever.
  24. That's what I thought, and the magnetic or centrifugal brake doesn't come into play until the cast is made. ??
