  1. Went up the Kings to just past the state line; fished for about an hour before I finally caught a White…my first one ever. It was 16.5” and put up a heck of a fight on a light action rod; I think she was making a run for the next county. I was using a white road runner curly tail and was catching a lot of small fish so I switched to a Storm 3 ¼” WildEye curl tail minnow and caught 2 more big Whites; another 16.5” and a 15”. Then someone must have tuned the switch to “off” because for the next hour or so I could not catch anything. It was getting crowded up there anyway so I headed back toward Viola planning on fishing along the way….not; there were boats every where, and lots of them. To crowded for me so I headed home. Water temp was 59 – 60 and fish were caught in 5 to 7’ of water.
  2. What? You're not rich? Darn it; and I was fixing to start my own guide service...where not to catch fish! I knew what you was saying from the start Bill
  3. Kings River got hammered pretty hard last night and today I haven't seen any added debris or logs..maybe Crickett is ok too....watched the storm from my basement last night since there was a tornado warning effect; there was pretty good light show going with the rain and hail
  4. Tuesday I crossed the bridge at Eagle Rock and the lake looked good with a slight green tint to it, yesterday when I went that way again the lake was brown, muddy looking. I assume this muddy water came down from Holiday Island since there was no rain Wednesday. I'm sure it will make its way to Big M soon if it hasn't already and we had LOTS of rain last night in this area; not sure how much but it was coming down real hard for about 45 minutes
  5. I just find it hard to buy a boat that cost more than my truck, and I drive a Duramax. If I was using it to make a living like you Bill it would be different, at least it would be a tax right off.
  6. Just curios as to what the insurance would be for a 60-70k boat? Seems to me that at some point the expense will out way the enjoyment of using the boat....guess that's why I still have my old tracker
  7. I going to save that picture and next time my wife says " you have to many lures" I'm going to show her the picture. When I buy something I always tell her " that's it, I'm not buy any thing else until next time!"
  8. Muddy Water

    YIKES!

I think it is water damage, there are pieces and parts scatter all over the creek bed and if the back hatch was pried open there should be broken glass, there was none there. Looks like it may have traveled about 200 yards from the main road.

  10. Muddy Water

    YIKES!

SUV that was swept off the road. Body still has not been found according to News crew, also picture of bridge that RPS was talking about
  11. Muddy Water

    YIKES!

Bass Enforcer, I'm pretty sure that is the marina at Holiday Island
  12. That's what I was thinking Champ; probably was running up the river on one of those foggy mornings we had recently
  13. I'll do that LD, maybe you can teach me how to catch fish on the Kings....moved up here from Louisiana a few years ago and having to learn how to fish all over again, this is one tough lake to figure out.
  14. It's where you make the sharp turn to the left when going up the river, just past the Kings River Golf course......see marked area on map
  15. Looks muddy,
  16. Seeing a lot of debris floating down the Kings today, big stuff like logs. One of the coves across from me is packed full of debris, from one side to the other and as far back as I can see...it's thick. Anyone planning a trip in the next couple of days needs to keep this in mind. I imagine this will be lake wide with the water level coming up so fast. Be careful out there!
  17. Kings is high and muddy this morning
  18. Now that's funny!
  19. I guess when the weather permits I'll have to experiment and see if one way is better than the other. With the lighter color up it may imitate a grub that is injured or dying since most creatures in the water turn belly up when they're dead or dying
  20. Yea that's the way I've always done it; I was cutting up some Zinkers while watching it rain (or storm) and got to thinking on it; was just curious if anyone does the opposite with the light color up
  21. Do you NED guys rig the jelly color up or down on the jig? Just curious if it would make any difference....and yes I'm bored
  22. I noticed that there were only a few boats running about today; usually see a lot more Didn't look like anyone was catching anything though, boats would stop and fish for a minute or 2 then take off again.
  23. I think that all of that 2"-3" of rain just dumped on my house, along with some hail
  24. There's some dark clouds moving though Golden, no rain....yet
  25. Back where I come from in Louisiana that would be consider clear....almost drinking water LoL
