  5. I have a Lowrance Elite 5 HDI and Elite 7 HDI and am very happy with both. Couldn't ask for anything more other than touch screen for convience. They have and do everything I need for my fishing tactics. Would highly recommend them for crappie and walleye fishing. These units have been replaced by chirp technology but were the best bang for the buck when I was shopping for units. Don't know much about chirp units can't help you there.
  6. All great information. Not much for me to add other than BB weights. 1oz per 10 fow is a good rule. 20-25 fow use a 2 oz. BB. Also keeping the BB one drop length off bottom will reduce hang ups. I'm with DADAKOTA on the Road Runners also they are deadly at times with whole crawler and stinger hook. Good info guys.
  7. The big ones don't bite till June. At least thats what Chi0082 said on May/13/2015 is his resent posts on profile page. "No ones catching anything big." He must have not fished the month of May.
  8. Haha...Get'em Wrench!!!!!
  9. Its a Good float. Think it's around 4.5 miles. Not sure exactly on distance but it usually takes me around 8 hours to float/fish it taking my time. I get in no hurry on the river so can't really tell you how long to just float it. Lures...Ned Rig, Small Cranks, Plastic Craws, Tubes, Bitsy Jigs, Top Waters Good Luck! Fishing should be good.
  10. Roark Bluff camp grounds. East and West sides both have what your looking for. There's a few at Cedar Ridge with water access also. Probably others as well but these 2 are the camp grounds I use.
  11. Sorry guys. Anglers Midwest not Midwest Anglers.
  12. YouTube Midwest Angler. Stockton Guide JR Oldham has a good vid on summer eyes on Stockton with a jig and crawler. Also has several other good vids on walleye and crappie on his YouTube channel. Have fun...Hope you nail em good.
  13. Nice report. I'm with you on the whites they should be surfacing good morning and evening by no. Don't know what is up with the whites this summer. They should start anytime lake wide. Good top water bite in fall as well.
  14. Jbooth24... I have never fished that far up the Finley. I haven't been above linden. Always wanted to venture farther up May have to now with good fishing confirmed. Thanks.
  15. Got a tip from a bud the crappie bite was hot. I Fished Tebo Arm yesterday. Had to run slow when we hit the fog wall, the thickest I've ever ran in. Chased crappie Fished trees from 7 to 25FOW and didn't do so well. Got 3 slabs couple drum and a few bass. Saw alot of boats moving spots fast so I beleave they were having trouble putting together a pattern as well. Ramp talk sad slow for them as well. Long trip for me but you dont know unless you go.
  16. Finally a post worth reading. Sounds like you had a great day DPrice. Thanks for info. Have yet to check out pappy rays products. Where does he sell out of? Does he have a shop or online sales only?
  17. Guess I should have put that on the Finley page.
  18. Went to Finley today took kids swimming wade fishing. Fishing was good smalls and G-eyes bit ned, small cranks, and grubs. Kids caught several smalls on netted chugs and shinners. Nothing big but fun day on the river. Was at 160 section. Fished up river not much past rope swing and down river not much past the log house.
  19. Sept crappie and on into late fall the fish can be scattered as far as depth goes. Pole timber and piles are your best bet for catching numbers of crappie but I like to mark and fish piles best.
  20. For me it's Hens, Chickens and oysters in fall. Puff balls if you like them, fall also.
  21. Clever,MO 8 miles south of Republic on HY P. 12 miles west of Nina on HY 14. Work in Springfield if wanna meet there?
  22. LoweSTX175... I would try for Crappie if you strike out on eyes. Sept is a great month for crappie on Stockton. I should be posting reports till the bow huntin gets good. Feel free to PM me anytime if needed.
  23. Sounds like you got a real fishing partner. I would like to help you but I wouldn't know where to send you or tell you this time of year. I put the lights up the end of June. I would just be sending you on a goose chase trying spots I don't know would produce this time of year or not. Good luck. Have fun with your daughter that's what is 'll about anyway. Sorry I couldn't really help.
  24. Most run them on 2 heavy of line or way to fast. Your boat trolling with big motor should be in the range to get bit if your in the Fish. Pay close attention to your graph and look for suspended fish in the baits diving range or fish close to the bottom in the baits range. Thats one trick to trolling that'll help you. Stay as close to the contour and depth as you can and let out around 75Ft of line if using mono. I like 8lb flouro and 6lb mono but thats just me.
  25. Nice pics good report. I Love seeing kids enjoying the outdoors. Good job
