  1. My neighbor just got back tonight after trolling all day around the Mile long bridge and has 23 crappies and 3 nice walleye's with one 21 inches long. All caught on model A bombers and fat shads with 4lb line. I have been there and seen it. We are going thursday again. The key is the line getting the bait down 15-20 feet deep. Just last thursday after turkey huntin the son and I went to Highpoint and caught 11 black crappie right on bank, standing on bank and all 11 inches or longer. He's been down twice since then a limited out, on chartreuse tube jigs and minnows.
  2. Just wondered if anyone heard how the tourney turned out? Won't get my Shell Knob paper til wednesday. The fish was on last sat when we was there. Had a limit of Kentucky's that would of went probably 15lbs and most caught on Pt 20 dragging a lizard and zoom worm.
  3. That's cause they are all at Stockton! Been going to Highpoint fishing from bank a catching a limit of nice black crappie on tube jigs 2 to 3 days a week.
  4. That could be the one we stomped the hell out of trying to get it to measure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not!

    Highpoint

Just got back this afternoon from Highpoint fishing off bank and the crappie are there. My son went down yesterday and caught 11 crappie 4 whites and a small walleye off the bluff lookin banks. today after turkey huntin we got down there and caught 4 nice black crappies 11 inches on a chartruse swimmin minnow. The guy on down the bank caught 6 right in front of me using a chartruse tube bait. The fish are right against the bank.
  6. Bill, I have fished over 30 years and have a cabin in Shell Knob. Was there saturday and put in at Big Bay and fish was far and few between until about 1:00 and we caught a limit of fish all kentucky's dragging a lizard and a zoom worm. What is this Dr. bait you all are talking about? Green with gold flakes, both lizards and centipedes. I guess the Shrine tournament is this weekend anybody fishing it, Pt.20 from the boat docks down in to Big Creek. All fish was in about 15 to 20 foot of water. Had one on a chomper. Didn't see any shallow fish to speak of. Fished my boat dock,2nd dock from the very end of Big Creek and had one good fish break off. I am thinkin early morning topwater bite would be on back there.
  7. Is the tournament this week, the 28-29?
  8. Well we did about the same but had 6 keepers. Put in at Big Bay around the corner from Campbell Pt. We c-rigged lizards and zoom worms. We didn't catch anything shallow, all fish in at least 13-18 foot of water. All kentucky's except 1 black on the point by the launch ramp. Darrell had one keeper on a chomper. We didn't see any fish shallow or nests. The best bite was on one stretch of bank from about 1:00-3:00 we will say around point 20. Caught 4 keepers and 7-8 shorts mostly on zoom worms.
  9. No we didn't have a big net, hell the water is to deep. Most were caught on jig& minnows. The whites were smaller and the walleyes were caught on jig & nightcrawlers. I have seen people seining down there in the past years trying for bait but not in water that deep.
  10. Went down this morning really cold in the water and seined up above the railroad brigde. Only got about 14 whites 7 walleye's, all small but 3 males 18 or so. I am surprised crappie get that far up, but whats caught is caught. Had one good sized catfish too! Fish fry this weekend.
  11. what's the address? I will come by today after work!
  12. Been having to work for my boss that's on vacation and haven't been since last week. Last I heard they was up to the railroad bridge. Cold front won't help nothing. Anyone been down?
  13. The guy's that floated the day we was there put in at 215 and floated to Taylor bridge. The old railroad bridge is about 1/4 mile down from 215. I have been there with my flat bottom but never walked it. Sounds like a hell of a walk from Taylor though.
  14. smbasser, the river looks great but you better go up to the railroad bridge for fish! We fished at Taylor and caught 2 small walleye's and that was it. The two boats that floated down from 215 bridge had a limit of nice fish around the railroad bridge and that was it. Not another white all the way to Taylor. Good luck and I think it would be closer walking from 215.
  15. Give me a few hours, Darrell and I are going this afternoon barring we don't get tornadoed out or flooded out!
  16. They are out but I don't know about numbers. When I was at the white bass river last saturday a guy had about a dozen greys and have seen pics on the cafeoutdoors site.
  17. I guess that would help! Crappie all 11 inches or more. Sunday they had 5 whites,21 crappie and 2 keeper walleye's all trolling the bombers on 4lb test line.
  18. Well didn't fair as well as they did sunday. The fish have moved up since sunday. We were trolling 1/4 oz bombers in the Mutton Creek cove and only caught 11 fish between us. No certain color as we switched back and forth all day. It light rained a couple of times and was a good day but I think ours baits was going to deep. Headed to the Little Sac for some white bass action today.
  19. Headed down with my neighbor Tony when he get's off work this morning, report at 3:30 when we get back. It should be a good one if we catch half the fish they did sunday!
  20. Little Sac past Morrisville, the two guy's we talked to this morning said they have probably caught over a hundred whites in the last week and a few good sized walleye's!
  21. Just got back from Taylor bridge and don't waste your time for a couple of days. It's very high, very fast and very muddy. About 10 cars got there after us and all but one left including the boats. One boat went up past us to the railroad bridge and floated back down with zero fish and fired the motor up and left. Lot's of people and boats at Iron bridge but still muddy and fast water. Seen Suzy, the conservation lady and said she had not seen hardly any fish today but they are up there.
  22. Probably taking the wife down this afternoon, are they all the way up to the railroad bridge? I fished righjt at the bridge a couple of days ago and didn't catch a fish. My neighbor works at St.John's and guy in the lab has been down everyday going up stream with a fly rod limiting out everyday.
  23. My son and 2 of his friends and I went to Taylor bridge yesterday with no luck at all. The fish is up there because 2 of the guy's I talked to said they have been there the last 3 day's in a row and limited out after a few hours. They did say the bite was better right before dark but we left about 4:00. There was lot's of people there and I didn't see a fish one caught. Trying again friday!
  24. The iron bridge is up river from aldridge access and Taylor, a concrete bridge is futher up stream before you get to 215 bridge. Directions, I wouldn't know where to start cause of all the turns and different ways to get there.
  25. Just got back from the bridge and whites are there. Caught 8 in about an hour and broke a good walleye off. The boats are up past Taylor bridge. Water looks good.
