  1. Buddy does nothing but bass fish on tanny. He stays at a resort just below the 65 bridge and fishes the Rockaway beach area. I tried it last year, and caught some nice 1-2 pound bass.
  2. My wife was with me, and moved to the center seat. It didn't really help much. Mine is a 2 stroke 75 that gets 40mph with a 21 pitch prop. The batteries are on the starboard side and the fuel tank is centered. Its a very noticeable list to the left. The trim tab looks to be in the same position as my 200hp Ranger 375V at about 5-10 degrees.
  3. We just left the White below Bull Shoals last Thursday. I took my 14' v bottom with a 20hp merc, but saw lots of 20' resort boats with 15hp on them. I have a locator with GPS on mine. With two people in the boat and gear, we could go 18mph down stream, and 11 mph upstream against the major current. we had 12-14' water depth from Sportsman's resort to the dam. Hope this helps.
  4. Good thread with lots of info. I've been hammering the White for 26 years. The first 22 with bait and lures. Caught all the trout that was legally possible, and only kept enough to eat for an evening. My go to bait rig is a 3/8oz slip sinker on the line over a #12 swivel. Then use a wire hook with two power baits.(if the hook is too big or the wire too thick, the bait won't float) Always white for one and the other a pink, bubblegum, or chartreuse with sparkles. At low current, throw out at a 45 degree or more angle, take up the slack until you get a tight line, and then back off one turn of the reel. With the slip sinker, the trout will hit the bait, then you give it some slack so it will pick up the bait again an make a small run. Set the hook. Done deal. In high current, you have to make it a 1/2 ounce weight and fish it at almost a 90 degree. Trash on the line makes it tough, but if you watch the rod tip, you will see the strike. Don't buy a fly rod. The addiction is bad. You won't catch as much fish as bait, but you will expend your life savings trying to do so. Come on November!! Got a new 5wt fly rod and can't wait to go to Lillies and try it out on Tanneycomo. Hooked on fly fishing now. We just left fishing the White below Bull Shoals. So much water flowing that we had to drift fish. We did well.
  5. Just bought a tracker 185 with the revolution hull and a 75 merc. While idling, it runs flat. When getting on plane it wants to pull left and has a noticeable lean to the left with the driver side being high. Whats causing this?
  6. I've been fishing Tanneycomo for 26 years. This November will be 27. Slow to me means no to little wake. We only have a 14' with a 20hp, but shut it down to my definition of slow when going through boaters that are anchored and fishing. Doing that gets you a wave, and it only takes a few minutes out of a persons day. I certainly respect those that do that for me.
  7. Thanks for the pics. The mouth of falls creek has always been one of my favorite places to fish when we go to Tanneycomo and stay at Lilley's in November. The water will likely be down to normal levels by then, so It looks like a person might have to raise the motor, put on the waders and pull the boat through the shallows? We take our own 14' aluminum. I agree, it does look like a new wading area. Will they allow dozers/track hoes in there to clean up the mess and put it back to the way it used to be? That's not natural flooding erosion/stream changes. Its man made.
  8. What a beast!
  9. 7-8 pm. My wife wants to eat earlier, but I'm usually working on something.
  10. I'm a new member. Is this forum tapatalk friendly?
  11. We honestly love coming to Tanny as much if not more now. The fly rod has me intrigued. so much to learn. In all the times we have stayed in the Branson area, we have never been to one of the shows. My wife likes to hit some of the shops around town, but the rest of the time it's fishing.
  12. Fished Tanneycomo for the first time 27 years ago, catching/releasing a 24" brown on day one. We have been hooked up with this lake ever since. We stayed at Lilleys landing on our first trip, and every year after. This November will be year 27. Can't wait. Ironically, that brown was the biggest we have caught since, but we always keep trying. Started out with spinning gear, and power baits, but have converted to the fly rod almost exclusively now. I'd put myself as an advanced beginner as the only time I get to use the fly rod is on our annual trip to Tanney.
