  1. My buddy Steve and I are working on our winter crappie fishing technique. Steve had the hot stick catching probably 20. Together we ended up with 10 keepers my contribution was 3 keepers. They were in about 28 ft of water. We also caught 4 or 5 baby walleye. I am blessed to have such a great friend!
  2. Lmt out is the walleye specialist. I love catching stuff spoons! Thank you for the complement. I have learned a lot on this forum. There are a few of us that try to help each other. It's fun. The gift of experience is precious to me.

  4. I have been waiting for the jerk bait thing to happen. Today would be a good day!
  5. Thank you all. Very encouraging.
  6. I hope to be out there too. I don't know how to fish but i plan on figuring it out when i get there
  7. Carthage mo. by Kellogg lake.
  8. You are right good place. It reminds me of the small tackle shops of my childhood (before the giants took over), a lot of great stuff in a small area. They started carrying Binks Spoons at my request, I am sure they do that with other people too. You can't help interacting with others.
  9. Binks spoon 3/4 oz gold or blue and chrome.
  10. Yep what he said.
  11. If it's Bud's in Carthage I love that place !
  12. Sold
  13. I am sure that you will get it figured out. You all ready have the right lure. Looks like there was a nice chop on the water. That spoon thing is a fun way to catch them. If you can stay over a school of bait fish for a few minutes, even if it is in the middle of the lake. Packs of whites move through. Notice the depth. Drop the spoon to that depth, wait, when the pack comes through again start jigging. If they are moving bait fish this works well for all species.
  14. I was honored to spend a day with my uncle on Tablerock looking for bass. It was tough and a little slow but a beautiful day. We found 10 or 12 hungry fish about 1/2 back in a cove over 40 to 60 feet of water. Ended up with 5 keepers. 1 was mine 4 for Steve but who's counting. We were using gold and blue chrome 3/4 oz Binks spoons, and Steves secret bait. Don't ask can't tell๐Ÿ˜€. We had a great time.
  15. I have heard about you, and your success on Stockton. Thank you for the suggestions, it will really be neat if I can figure it out !
  16. Found a couple in 30 ft of water. Temp was 55 degrees. I am not very good at it.
  17. If you stay around after a tournament you can catch some nice bass with only your hand.
  18. One spring several years ago , my wife and I started trolling for crappie. We would fish late morning only, trolling various #7 flicker shad and flicker minnow. For 3 days we caught a 2 man limit every day. It was a blast. After the first day we only kept the fish that were bigger than the steering wheel on our boat which was about 12 inches. I haven't seen days like that since. In secret I am hoping to find an 11 pound walleye sniffing around a crappie brush pile
  19. That is a dandy!! I fish there too. In that exact spot ๐Ÿ˜€
  20. That sounds real good ! I would bet that Truman is still 60 degrees. The bait fish are everywhere in Stockton. Thank you
  21. I don't think I will try it. Once I got started I would not be able to stop until the goal was met or something bad happened.
  22. Well teaching myself how to catch winter crappie is going slow. I did find some nice brush piles. Then it all came together, I thought all right I have found them! This feeling of joy lasted for 2 fish in 35 feet of water, then nothing. I did find that if a person throws something that swims up on the bank you catch as many sub-legal bass as you want. It's a good life !
  23. Sounds like fun to me. I bet an hour before dark with a jerk bait would be killer !
  24. Thanks buddy. I have a lot to learn. I have always wanted to learn how to catch crappie like this. I feel like I am almost there, but I am missing something. Maybe it pick up when the water cools a bit more. 55 degrees today.
