  1. Water was to high to float this morning. Did not get to fly fish yet. I think I will stay in the park.
  2. Headed out in mid sept. Looking to fish and float. What outfitter do you suggest to float/fish? Any ideas what flies trout will be hitting that time of the year?
  3. Thank you. I will be taking my kayak out, so who knows what I might hook into!
  4. I believe I can use most all of these on smallmouth bass as well. A lot of craft fur and double bunnies.
  5. I just like ridding them from m garden and flowerbeds. I can mail some to anyone that wants a few.
  6. Squirrels are back in season, and this year I am collecting tails. How do you boys color them? Do you bleach them first?
  7. Fished in the park after a 10+ year absents. I took a ton of flies and my fly rod, but I ended up just fishing the social holes with a friend. I have say the trout are a lot bigger and it was much more fun.

  10. I fish a lot of smallmouth bass steams and hook the occasional other bass species and lots of pan fish, but this weekend really kicked my proverbial butt. After spending the winter tying new and interesting flies, I have fished 5 patterns with very little luck while my friend, fishing the same place has cleaned up on orange woolie buggers. I am about to say the hell with it and tie nothing but bead head buggers! I tried top water foam beetles, gurgles, craft fur minnow, bronze goddess, and a dumbell eyed woolie (the only one I caught on). Any suggestions for not flushing all these flies?
  11. I have been tying a variety of buggers, pig jigs and buggers. I have even tied some foam top waters. Looking for a new fly to tie for small mouth and large mouth. Any suggestions?
  12. Made my first tying video of this fly. Very cool pattern.

  18. Any chance of a step by step on this fly?
  19. Those look really good. That was my first gurgler. I will whip up some more hearing that they work well. I am hoping the ants and beetle work well for other pan fish or maybe even large mouth in my friends lake. FYI, I ordered all the materials sunday night to tie your jig/pig!
  20. It has been too cold to fish, so I have been tying up some flies for spring. My kids got me some foam for Christmas, I have never tied foam flies before, so I have been trying to get the looking good. Around here we use a lot of streamers and woolies. Here is a link to the flies, http://imgur.com/a/fYLxp. Let me know what you think.
  21. I have a small cooler for beer, anchore and milk crate to hold my gear. I picked up a lifetime kokanee for cheap. I also added a Larry chair for comfort. I float and fly fish.
  22. I have been using double loop line and a braded double loop cut throat leader.
  23. I want to tie this fly. Can I get a complete list of materials? Is olive the best color? I fish the Castor, Jacks Fork, Black, and 11point.
  24. I live in cape, but grew up and still fish the Castor river in Bollinger County. i got my first kayak this year, i normally rent, and have been floating a lot since spring. I try to make it to the 11 point several times a year and the Black. I fly fish with a friend of mine for Smallmouth Bass most of the time. With my height and weight, i have a lifetime kakonee. it is not made for fishing, but i attached a Larry chair and milk crate, I toss a cooler on the front and away i go. a friend has a diablo amigo, i may upgrade next year, it is killer, but for now i am happy. does anyone on here fish the castor or the black? are there any nice cabins to rent on the jacks fork that could fit 10 that you know of? Thanks, Chia
