  1. Did not do great this week had a couple Sunday, but no size and went out Wed. evening in the wind and did not get any thing but was also trying with fly rods. Zhoyt I usally have a full boat when I head out every one loves to try to catch these stripers on top. Next week I will be down at beaver for the full week, but have family down that wants to fish sorry.
  2. Got into some Last night on top water right across from point 5 on the main lake. We have always called that Cedar Cove becuase of all the stick up in it, but do not know the name. Hit it this AM and nothing on top and only had two boils throwing topwater. Had three last night best being right at 12 and my 5 year old as net boy that I am sure had more fun than I did. Hope you get this before you go will probably be back tonight or Sunday night will be in a Blue Lowe Deck boat.
  3. I think that I would be more worried about the two legged animals that you may run into and I would like the option to carry if I felt it was needed. You guys are forgetting about another animal that us west coast bow hunters fear Cougars. I would take 10 black bear encounters over one cougar encounter any day of the week. Not sure of what pepper spray does to cougars, but I would hate to find out it did not work.
  4. No problem RRV I know that your computer skills are a little lacking so I was glad no lend my expertise. Just for eveyone else on the forum that does not know me I am sure since this worked for me that the image should explode in the next day or so, or crash the internet or something.
  5. I will give it a try. See below
  6. I wish they would put a nice Dock on that ramp. The one at Dam Site is almost worth the extra two miles to drive it is always set up nice and has plenty of parking. If Indian had a good dock it would be the best of everything, it is by far the straightest Drive to any Lake from Cassville.
  7. Sorry one more ? was the dock usable or was it still underwater?
  8. Got it thanks for the information. For some reason that was a good spot last year for some top water action early in the AM into late June. Good luck.
  9. What are you calling Indian point? I think I know where you are, but have heard of Indian Creek, but not Indian Point down on beaver. The problem is that everyone I fish with had their own names for all the coves, etc. Went down on 5/6 out off Lost Bridge south the the PM and did not see any Striper on top, but did boat some fair size smallies and some nice spots on the spook. Thanks for the report will try to post results as I get down there to fish more. PS I am out of Cassville and that can be a long trip in the Fog, and really scary when you are on the water in the fog and the big bass boys are going by you at 70 looking at their GPS's.
  10. I was thinking about using the Strike King wake shad this year for some Striper on Beaver until I seen the price. I really will feel bad when that 30 + pounder breaks me off and I would hate to make it worse with a 20$ lure.
  11. I hope you guys have a great time and post the pics after you go. Great looking fish Sam Kam. I will be doing my trip this year down on Beaver from May 16th to the 20th and hope that the water is not to muddy, but the way my luck is going this year the Mud line will be at Lost Bridge South May 16th
  12. Thanks for the information. My great Spring luck has struck again so I will be out of commision for at least a week or so. Turned my ankle really bad yesterday getting the boat ready. If it is not one thing it is another.
  13. Just wondering if any one is seeing any towater action yet. May be a touch to early, but you never know.
  14. Sam Kam that looks like a new fish in your picture. What is the size? I will ask a couple of my buddies that I play cards with, that is a great time of year to be on the water down on Beaver.
  15. Not sure if it was the biggest, but at the time it was by far the biggest fish I had ever had on. I was about 12 and was fishing up in the San Juan islands up in the northwest corner of Washington State. We where in a 15 ft aluminum fishing boat. We got into what we called sand sharks or Dog fish ( they are just some type of shark) fishing for bottom fish. My mom had just got one up to the boat that was about 2ft long and my dad had lost his pliers. I was pulling something big in and it turned out to be a fairly good size shark that looked to a 12 year old to be about half of the size of the boat we where in. You could see a mouth full of teeth and the thing was really putting up a good fight. My dad to one look at the shark pulled out his knife and cut my line.
  16. Did a four month clinical in Livingston and my Dad grew up in Three Forks so spent summers there fishing with my Grandfather on the Madison. A great place, but long winters. There is a great great hike in lake outside of Livingston, not sure of the name, but you hike in about four miles from the Silver Falls Campground. Great cut throat trout action and beautiful little lake. Mills creek that runs into the Yellowstone is another great fly-fishing stream. Great memories you will love it out there.
  17. Will be able to fish all day on Saturday and trying to figure out where to go. What is the water like way up Kings? Has it cleared yet? Do not really care what I catch will try my luck with whites, Crappie and Bass. Thanks in advance Jason
  18. I think that we should post some pictures of the Stripers/Hybrids that we catch with a fly rod this year and a little information on the conditions, fly, etc. I need an excuse to lay down the bait caster and dedicate a little more time to the flyrod.
  19. Dito on the landslides. For some reason this time of year they really hold the fish. I got one of the SI humminbird fishfinders last year, but with the really high water did not really get to use it as much as I would like. This year you can really see when there is a transition area that may to show up on the shore.
  20. We where also at Indian Sunday with about the same results. Had one decent White trolling shad raps and three spots throwing Road Runners. I was in the White and Blue Lowe Deck boat that had three guys in it. Did mark some fish on my fish finder that looked like a decent school of something about half way back to the power lines, marked them with the GPS and ran back through them with no hits. Water temp was 52 so it may take a little while before that really turns on up there.
  21. Looking for a good report up Indian. It has been a couple of years since I really got into them up there.
  22. Here is a map that may help.
  23. Nice looking fish, that Striper get my blood going for topwater action this year.
  24. Put in at Viola with the kids it was a little easier with the dock. Hickory is closer to where we fished, but a little hard to load the family. I always like to stop in at Kings River Marina and give them a little bussiness anyway, great people. The campground is looking great this year it looks like they have done alot of work to it this year and I think the dock at the ramp is new this year or last.
