  1. We went a last weekend (5/12) with my daughter and son-in-law who live just a few minutes from there. It's pretty incredible- it's a preserve in the city with a impressive modern structure in the middle. The art I've heard is so good that ppl from the east coast are asking why it's in the Midwest where it can't be appreciated... that should tell you the value of it. A lot of great American history can be seen in some of the original paintings but of course there's the art that some of us would browse by with only a quick glance. I'd go - even if you're not an art lover. Once won't hurt ya.
  2. It a type of bait. I'm sure there's more than one company making it. If you watch the video you'll see why they call it that.
  3. There are lots of similar arguments in fishing circles... Some think fly fishers are purists (some are). Some think anglers who use corn should be shot. Baiters vs lurers. Trollers vs casters. Noodlers vs I'm not sure what... Swamp People vs Axe Men. Everyone is different and has an opinion. It's ok to share it, just be civil about it.
  4. Keep it civil... or steer it back that way or this topic goes away.
  5. I'm going to move this to the Elk River forum because it won't be seen by the guys who you need to hear from here in General Angling
  6. The Corp changed the url a month ago and I updated my images. But I might have missed some. The link on the forum works. I'll check the others.
  7. You can now download and subscribe to the Ozark Trout Bum Podcast on iTunes!! Pretty exciting stuff!
  8. I could post what Vontage transcribes from the call... here's Bill's from yesterday: Yes, it's Bill Butler with wire route through Skype service as well as Landing resort in Marina with the Mace 17th. Like can you come across fishing report. Lots and lots of trips today I'm like Kenny Connell. I had to. First one started at about 7:00AM. A great trip really with Tim and Carol from Texas water fluctuation today was was made to thing just a little bit more difficult than yesterday. Not nearly the number is coming to the boat fishing pretty much the same locations from fall Creek down to Lilly's. When I got there at 7/2 a unit running. They kicked that up to one and immediately cut it off. I don't know what they're gonna say as far as the generation schedule but I kinda know what happened and it was on and off and on and off all day made for a little bit of the test day but it's still the numbers came in pretty good with some really nice brown truck today. Brown tried up to 1718 inches I think I had that 13 Brown so was a big day
  9. I'm trying to make this as simple as I can to GET guides to provide reports for you. Bill writes reports... but have you ever seen a report from Kris Nelson? Col Ron? And Tim's call in reports are priceless, IMO. Some people, guides don't like to type, can't type. This is a way to offer them a way to share fishing info. Others - a way to share more info, more often. Heck- I have suggested that when a guide gets done with his trip, call it in on the drive home. Simple. That hasn't caught on yet.
  10. Punch Bait - anyone ever use this stuff? Man the catfish love it!
  11. Branson is unique in this way- you can spend some $$$ and see some pretty cool stuff or stay on the cheap side and still stay very busy with low priced places to go and quite a few free places. Free- Trout Hatchery New Dewy Short Corp Visitor Center College of the Ozarks Tour Branson Landing (walk around, lake front) Nature Trails Cheap- Table Rock Dam Tour Museum at C of O
  12. Fished Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning out of Bridgeview with friends. Hoped to find some whites and strippers and did find them but were small. Very few whites but there were a bunch of one pound stripers. They were sipping small fish fry- not a whole lot of threadfin shad there. But the stripers were fun. Caught them on small swimming minnows but the best was throwing a set of two 1/32nd oz white or chartreuse jigs with a split shot. Small to match the fry they were eating. Never seen fish surface like that- not splashing, just sipping. Did get into the catfish. Coy's uncle George and his friend Bob fish 5 days a week from March till October. Baited holes, rod and reel and using their special baits. Mostly channel but some blues mixed in. They keep mostly small 13-16 inch cats - best to eat. I wish we had fished with them more... and take more videos. They had a lot of good fishing info and lots of good old stories.

  14. Also will throw in some OAF hats for prizes.
  15. I'll help. I could help with a fish fry. Depends on the date though. I'm pretty flexible except for a week in June - going to Boston for my son's wedding.
  16. Guys caught their limit of cats this morning. We'll get them tonight.
  17. On the lake near Roosevelt Bridge. Haven't found stripers yet.

  19. Hatchery. I'll call Monday. I heard a herd of bears ate through a main line and knocked out the power.
  20. Cool! I've heard the crappie are thick on the lower end. Still catching a few up here. High water did wonders for all fish here on Taneycomo last year.

  22. Some of you guys just have a difference of opinion. Nothing wrong with that. If you all really want to pursue this issue, find out what the facts are: How many people/boats do use the facility annually. Not sure if that data is out there though.
  23. If you're having issues listening to the podcast, it's a flash application -- you may need to update your flash. It should work in all browsers.
  24. Actually I'm good friends with the guy now. Water under the bridge. He was a public figure and didn't like the fact that his name was listed in the municipal court section of the paper. The "Bad Boys List" was continuation. The "list" went away after that. Yes it should have been public record. The mistake I think was made at the court level. But again- it's past history. The $$$ was given to charity, directly in his name.
