  2. Fished Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning out of Bridgeview with friends. Hoped to find some whites and strippers and did find them but were small. Very few whites but there were a bunch of one pound stripers. They were sipping small fish fry- not a whole lot of threadfin shad there. But the stripers were fun. Caught them on small swimming minnows but the best was throwing a set of two 1/32nd oz white or chartreuse jigs with a split shot. Small to match the fry they were eating. Never seen fish surface like that- not splashing, just sipping. Did get into the catfish. Coy's uncle George and his friend Bob fish 5 days a week from March till October. Baited holes, rod and reel and using their special baits. Mostly channel but some blues mixed in. They keep mostly small 13-16 inch cats - best to eat. I wish we had fished with them more... and take more videos. They had a lot of good fishing info and lots of good old stories.

  4. Also will throw in some OAF hats for prizes.
  5. I'll help. I could help with a fish fry. Depends on the date though. I'm pretty flexible except for a week in June - going to Boston for my son's wedding.
  6. Guys caught their limit of cats this morning. We'll get them tonight.
  7. On the lake near Roosevelt Bridge. Haven't found stripers yet.

  9. Hatchery. I'll call Monday. I heard a herd of bears ate through a main line and knocked out the power.
  10. Cool! I've heard the crappie are thick on the lower end. Still catching a few up here. High water did wonders for all fish here on Taneycomo last year.

  12. Some of you guys just have a difference of opinion. Nothing wrong with that. If you all really want to pursue this issue, find out what the facts are: How many people/boats do use the facility annually. Not sure if that data is out there though.
  13. If you're having issues listening to the podcast, it's a flash application -- you may need to update your flash. It should work in all browsers.
  14. Actually I'm good friends with the guy now. Water under the bridge. He was a public figure and didn't like the fact that his name was listed in the municipal court section of the paper. The "Bad Boys List" was continuation. The "list" went away after that. Yes it should have been public record. The mistake I think was made at the court level. But again- it's past history. The $$$ was given to charity, directly in his name.
  15. You have to be careful what you post/write on the internet, screen name or real. I was sued 10 years ago plus for reporting that a local guy got a ticket - fishing violation. I copied it from the local paper police section. The paper was wrong... we both got served. My insurance co settled for $4000. I knew I could fight it and win cause I didn't do anything maliciously but the ins co saw it differently. They didn't want to mess with it. You slander someone and it will come back to get you.
  16. That's what I told Duane.
  17. I understand the link to the podcast doesn't work with Internet Explorer. I've called my tec guy - he'll get on it in about an hour. Anytime you start something new, you hit road blocks. We've had our share!! Thanks for your patience.
  18. Announcing a new addition to OzarkAnglers - Ozark Trout Bum Podcast with Steve Brigman Steve is an outdoor writer here in SW Missouri and was part of the Bass Edge Podcast for a number of years. Today he's starting a new chapter in his career, sharing stories and podcast features about trout and the people who chase them. So if you have some time, check out the site and listen to his installment of the first Ozark Trout Bum podcast. I think you'll find his first guests interesting. http://www.ozarkanglers.com/ozark-trout-bum/
  19. Want to make sure I'm not throwing something out there that's not working for you guys. Is anyone having issues with the downloading/playing the audio .wav files? Remember, using Chrome? Chrome won't open .wav files. I can convert the wav files to mp3 but that's an extra step I'd rather not take- but will.
  20. http://www.ozarkanglers.com/elk-river/2012/05/08/hog-heavens-river-and-fishing-report-for-the-elk-river-may-8/ Here's where you'll find Russ's call in fishing report.
  21. Oh- and I edit Babler's posts ALL the time. Man, that guy can't spell a lick.
  22. Guilty! I must confess. I have edited posts in the past!! I've corrected misspelled words. Even yours- just a few times- FF. It was when I copied your great posts to the main site. Not all the time... it's those red squiggley lines under the words that haunt me. Sorry.... it was the "Marsha" in me. That's my wife. She's a journalist major. It's her fault.
  23. Check out their fishing reports on the main OA site. http://www.ozarkanglers.com/table-rock/
  24. We've had 3 call in fishing reports posted today on Lake Taneycomo - check them out. http://www.ozarkanglers.com/lake-taneycomo
  25. You might not see any heavy flow this week. They're running 1/2 to 1 unit right now. Regardless you can put in at the cable and float down to the boat ramp or down to Pointe Royal, to Riverpoint Estates or all the way to Cooper Creek ramp. I don't think the current would be heavy enough to keep you from paddling upstream when you wanted to.
