Had time for one drift this evening before dinner. Boated up just past the narrows above Fall Creek and threw an 1/8th oz sculpin jig against the bluff bank. Lost it on the 5th cast with no strikes. Tied on another, no strikes to Fall Creek. Worked it slow, real slow to keep it close to the bottom. Tied on a white jig, 3/32nd oz, and started fishing the east bank, opposite of Fall Creek. Why white? That's one of my favorite brown banks this time of year (fall) and on the 2nd cast, it paid off. This nice brown. Drifted on down almost to the ramp and headed in. No more bites. Pic came out nice- fish cooperated.
They ran water pretty hard late today. I would guess this may slow fishing down alittle away from the dam. I mean when the water goes from say the 60's to the low 50's or high 40's when they run so much water, the trout tend to slow down a bit. This isn't necessarily true of areas above Cooper Creek say but would be in the Branson area and down.
There have been some nice rainbows caught the last few days on around the Landing, mainly on power bait and, get this, colored marshmallows. I've also heard fishing down close to Bull Creek has been exceptionally good.
