  1. If no one is interested in a fish fry gathering Friday night, I'll stop catching crappie for it. Let me know... I'm going back out today!
  2. Has that ever been done on any other river in MO? Is this a first? Who will enforce it? It sounds like a great idea- a bold move- but enforcement may problems on several fronts. Plus will it redirect partiers to other rivers and make them worse? Don't get me wrong- I'm not complaining about the new rule... just thinking through it.
  3. I camped at a place- it's really on the lake (Grand) but at the mouth of the river. There's a ramp- have to pay to use that ramp I remember and camp- $2-3 but that was years ago. What's the name of that place?
  4. Where highway 60 crosses the rivers... Neosho and Spring.
  5. I've been there... beutiful place. Caught rainbows in pools using a ..... drum roll...... zebra midge! They loved them.
  6. The underwater is working... and there's even some trout under there. But the lake cams are still down cause I have a hardware conflict. Trying to get someone to look at it for us.
  7. Is anyone fishing? Say... Friday or Saturday evening? I'm thinking about heading down but I'm gonna want to hit the water someplace if I'm going to be that close to the water. Friday- Lent... got me thinking. What about a fish fry Friday evening someplace? One of the accesses after dark? I can provide most of what we need- fish, fryer, oil, plates/forks, beans (hot). Any thoughts where?
  8. Above the bridge... interesting. Up in the clear water.... interesting. I think when anyone posts a whopper report like you did, naturally people are going to give you a hard time. YOu know the old saying(s) about a fisherman's lips... they only move when he's lyin'. So don't let it bother you. It goes with the territory.
  9. Do you think fish just don't like gin clear water? I see the same thing in stream like Swan- and esp Swan. It seems to always be gin clear- more clear than most streams around. Is this your observation?
  10. Gezzz guys- you're going to make everyone carry clickers and prove their numbers somehow. Before long no one is going to report a good trip cause they might get blasted by the forum police for exaggerating their numbers which I'm sure none of us ever do! If anyone out there never has told a 'whopper' fish story or said they caught 25 crappie when it was really 22, throw the first stone. Ken? Bill?
  11. I can see the headlines now... "Fly fisherman hooks Famous Dave patron on his back cast" Don't let one of those guys in orange catch you fishing off the wall. I got down there a little this evening but I was fishing for crappie, not trout. But I couldn't help catching these rainbows Bill's talking about. They are big and make some impressive runs.
  12. Yea but who catches the most when we go :) :)
  13. "I would classify myself as a decient trout fisherman, but I have never caught 150 fish in 90 minutes. Even if I have 2 other great fisherman in the boat that is a real stretch, you have to play those fish a bit. I cannot tell you how impressed we are." Jamie probably can catch 150 in 90 minutes all by himself... he's one of the best anglers I know... he's won or placed in the top 3 in almost every trout tourney he's fished, at least in my tourneys. I'll vouch for his report.
  14. The 2 houses up from Cooper Creek and down from Lazy Valley, one brick and one white, just across the lake from the old pump house, we burglarized Friday, 3/9, sometime between 11 am - 4 pm. They made entry from the lakeside and possibly parked at Cooper Creek Campground, walking through the woods. Another house was broken into closer to Fall Creek near Cooper Creek Access between 1 - 3 pm that afternoon. If anyone saw anyone around these houses that afternoon and can describe them or give times, please call our office at 1-800-284-2196. Thanks.
  15. If you saw fish then the water has cleared up. They won't be there till the water is murky. They'll be out in the lake again.
  16. Click on the names - Bennett Springs Maramec State Park Montauk State Park Roaring River State Park Barren Fork Creek Blue Springs Crane Creek Montauk Trout Park and Current River Eleven Point River Mill Creek, Little Piney Creek, Spring Creek, Stone Mill Springs Branch North Fork of the White River Maramec Springs Park and Meramec River Hickory Creek and Roubidoux Creek Capps Creek Niangua River
  17. What's the complete list of WILD TROUT in Missouri? I'll look on MDC's site.
  18. Graph?? What's a graph? Note: I haven't had a "working" depth finder on my boat in 3 years. Not bragging- confessing I'm lazy more than anything. I usually use the ol' count method for depth- or lift the rod as high as it'll go and drop the jig. I figure that's about 12 feet.
  19. There are some vices are combos- they have a clamp and they can be screwed into a base. I carry the base only - $11.99.
  20. OK- I'll ask... what's a slab knocker?
  21. Jeremy R is fishing at Beaver and Swan Creeks tonight... if he does well, either he or I will post and let you know. That's your best chance to bank fish for whites around here. They should be making false runs up in Beaver at least with this warm weather/rain.
  22. Rumors are crappie are being caught in Long and James area. No details but they should be out from spawning banks and suspended. Anyone trying them?
  23. There's not bank fishing- all boat.. It's private plus the bank is steep and brushy. When you to in Roark, you turn to the left towards the bridge. The bend is deep- that's where I'd start and fish towards the mouth. It's not a big area. I didn't fish- talk to someone who saw them being caught.
  24. If you get a chance- the next couple of days you'll find white bass in Roark Creek before the first bridge. I guess the rain washed some colored, warm water in and brought some white up. Jigs or shad crank baits will work on them.
