  1. Yeah Tom, we hit em hard for the weeks leading up to New Years and then it froze over. I live about 10 minutes from there. It'll probably thaw this weekend sometime as the lake near my house has some open water on it. They put some decent size fish in this time, some to 14 inches. SIO3
  2. Hey dave Just kiddin around. I'm not sure about the election yet. SIO3
  3. I'm sure he is fishing in the Big Show with the most famous famous fisherman of all. SIO3
  4. I'll take every day but the 12th for the other side of that action. SIO#
  5. I'm workin on it my friend. SIO3
  6. Man you're killing me Trav! You fish like I work. I need to change something. I figure I fished probably 25-30 times last year. Granted most were all day since I don't get to go very often, but dam dude. I love the reports but it's killing me to think of all the days on the water you put in. How about next week you travel for my job and I hit the water every day? I used to fish Taney for bass with a guy named Al Alfotis(sp?), ever heard of him? I rented a boat once from the dock in old town Branson and the guy looks at my rods and says those trout don't like those big baits and thick string you got there. You better look up somebody to show you how to catch fish. I smiled and said I'll be fine. SIO3
  7. Has anyone seen the BBC Documentary called The Great Global Warming Swindle? It's a totally different view of the cause of global warming. Check it out. I think it's on Youtube now. SIO3
  8. Here Piggy, Piggy!!! Drew?? Drew? SIO3
  9. I don't want to bash anybody needlessly but the food was horrible yesterday 12-28-07. All three of ordered a burnt end dinner. My side salad came frozen, literally. The cherry tomatoes were frozen hard as a rock. Our burnt end plates came loaded with fries that weren't cooked fully. They were mushy and just warm. After a couple minutes on the plate they were soggy with grease. They apparently haven't seen what burnt ends are because they brought out cubed, pot roast with a very bland BBQ sauce. I couldn't eat my food at all. I had 3 fries and small bit of the boiled meat. Very disappointing after a cold day of fishing. Sorry. SIO3
  10. Did you go? Details Man, details. SIO3
  11. I wouldn't use the word "interesting". More like Scary. SIO3
  12. It's Trav. Man I wish I could fish as much as he does. I love reading his reports too. Keep it up Trav, live the dream for the rest of us. SIO3
  13. Thanks Dano. I live St louis so I'll hit the Mar. 13th show at Chesterfield. SIO3
  14. Merry Xmas Dano! SIO3 Could tell me where is the film tour post is with the schedule? Ho, ho, ho, Merry Xmas!
  15. I guess I'm cornfused. Phil says, " The Crop at the dam have been injecting o2 for years and will continue. This will not help the DO issue at any of the tailwaters." So they do inject o2 for the water coming through the generators? If so, why doesn't it help? I would love to see the flow pics. SIO3
  16. I didn' think minimum flow would help anything? Just pumping out more water that doesn't have enough oxygen to begin with, won't help will it? I understand the temp issue but I thought DO was a bigger problem? Phil made a comment in one of his posts about the hatchery injecting O2. Does the dam at Taney have that capability or is it just the hatchery? I don't want to sound negative, since anything that helps our waters is a step in the right direction. SIO3
  17. Hey Rich I think he means twice a year, not twice a lifetime. Kidding, just kidding. SIO3
  18. After years of Ross Reels I went to a Lamson Litespeed. Sweet drag and the thing I like most is how light weight it is. I never considered weight that much but I will now. Nothing at all wrong wrong with the Ross's. I was shopping around and the litespeed caught my eye and I like it even more after using it for 2 years. I have the older model not the newest. Look at weight! SIO3
  19. Well said my friend. Nice fish!!! SIO3
  20. Good call Troutchaser, Schmendrick! SIO3
  21. I read that article too. Funny thing is Brian, the reporter, is a long time member of Ozark Fly Fishers and an avid conservationist. He may not have been aware of the regs. I saw an old guy with his grand kids at Busch just killin em. He was also using power grubs on jig heads. I showed him the sign which was right behind him. He didn't really care. It started pouring and he left. SIO3
  22. To me there is a simple solution. Don't do it. What if the people who say, "the mine won't do any damage" are wrong, then it ruins the whole ecosystem there. One sure way to make sure the mine doesn't do any harm is to not build it. I guess the other thing I don't like here is the term "multinational company". I don't think they care squat about the environment, especially if it's not their home. Will the "multinational company" profit from "our" resources? You bet they will! Will we, the people of the USA who really are the owners of these resources, get some remuneration from this? Probably not. SIO3
  23. I wouldn't cancel any trip for weather. If you can get there safely I would go. Besides, let's say the weather is bad while you're there. It'll cut down on the crowds. How about we trade? You work all week while I go fishin. You lucky dog. SIO3 Sorry I forgot to add this. A must for us who travel for work. http://www.modot.org/ SIO3
  24. He mentions Kand K which is in KC. Stick with those guys and you won't go wrong. Cast first, then buy. It's like golf, everything has a little different feel and you'll find one that you like. SIO3
  25. I felt bad about the guy but I just couldn't stop laughing. Like a 4th grader passing gas in church, I just couldn't stop laughing. SIO3
