  1. First off, who's the guide in question? I am sure he checks here so let's hear who it is. Is it rude for the guide to hold a spot while his client is fishing somewhere else? My favorite is the guy who brings his two teenage sons down with all the gear and stuff, then lines up three abreast to shuffle their way right down the middle of the river. How disturbing is that when it is being passed on to the next generation? I was below rebar and they didn't even get out of the river to go around, they just walked right in front of me. How about the guy who brings his significant other down and stands upstream from her, she holds the end of her line out to him, he shuffles and drops her fly in the water below his feet and screams "NOW, set the hook". Your bright green fly line is lying is on the water and the guy crossing the river steps on it. Do shufflers have backing on the reels? Taney is just too small for the amount of people using it. 2. Some call it rock snot. Very bad stuff. So you haven't had any repeort of it in Taney? There is a little article about it in the current issue of The Missouri Conservation Magazine. Check this link. http://p222.ezboard.com/fflyfishingarkansa...opicID=32.topic Snagged.
  3. Hey Phil. I was down staying and fishing out of your place Friday the 13th to Sunday the 15th. I never got to tell you that I found didymo in the KOA hole. I didn't see it anywhere else but did see several strands while wading the north side, at the top end of the KOA area. I didn't think any had been reported in Taney. Is this the first you have heard of it? That stuff really ruined the area below Bull Shoals dam on the White River. Snagged.
  4. Too late, Sold. Thanks for the forum Phil. Snagged.
  5. I have two pair of Hodgman Bantam Weight wading boots for sale. They have felt soles. They are advertized as very light weight and sell new for $54. They are size 10 and 11. I wore the size 10 once and the size 11 3 times. I had foot surgery and can't wear them anymore. I had two pair, so I could wear the 10 in the summer and the 11 in th winter with extra socks. $15 for each pair is all I'm asking. http://www.stearnsinc.com/Hodgman/NC_Produ...egoryID=7541679 Snagged.
  6. Hey loo10 thanks for the invite. I live in StL and drive down to fish a lot of times by myself. I'll let you know when I come down again. I wish we could have hooked up this past Monday and Tuesday since I was by myself. You don't know how much I envy you guys that live near the lakes. Hoping to get away more the next few months. Even when those big fish miss the stick it is very exciting to see. Snagged.
  7. I was there Monday and saw a guy keeping some on a metal stringer. I don't know if it was jdavis or gonefishin but I say keep em if you want. That's what it's there for. Trophies for some and lunch for others, what a great idea. The guy I saw was fishing above rebar. I do have one problem with it though, I didn't get an invitation to lunch. I hope no one thinks I'm a snob because of the buggy whip. I like to catch em on dries or swing a bugger or drift a scud but have you ever seen a brown maul a stick bait? Awesome!!!!! Snagged.
  8. I Drove down from StL Monday morning to fish, camp that night and fish again Tuesday. First, when you wake up and and have to put a stocking hat on, IT'S COLD!!! The fishing was as good as I've seen it since the new reg's. Caught fish all day, both days, on a variety of flies and technigues. Swinging buggers, drifting scuds and an awesome dry fly bite in the afternoon. People all around me were hooking up. Loved that they blew the horn and didn't run water on Monday. I had the whole area below rebar to myself for an hour or so. And that hour was awesome. All rainbows and one brown. One male rainbow well over 20". I remember about 15 years ago I was fishing that area below rebar and wasn't doing particularly well when an old guy walks up beside me. He plunks down his worm container and lawn chair and starts rigging his baitcaster. He puts a big ole worm on and slings it out. He sits down and looks at me and says "how's fihing"? I told him I wasn't doing well when he sets the hook on a real nice fish and pulls it up on the rocks and puts it on a stringer. 4 nice trout later he packs up and leaves. I was thinking about that guy Monday when I got to catch those 18 - 20 inch trout. Only now they are still in there. Even with all the people a lot of fish were caught and I didn't see a shuffler. In fact, the crowd was very pleasant and respectful. What a great fishery! Thanks to all who helped to get the new reg's in place. Snagged.
  9. Were there very many people fishing up there? Snagged.

  11. Hey Greg. I had a pair of 3 year old Hodgman waders that started to leak in the lower leg area. I emailed customer service at Hodgman and explained that although the waders were 3 years old they only had about 75 days of fishing on them. I told them there was no visible sign of trama and they seem to just leak because of "workmanship". They told me to send them in and sure enough about two weeks later they called and apologized and let me know they sent out a new pair. The new pair were the new style of wader that they were selling at a higher price than I paid for the old style. Be honest and give them a chance to satisfy a customer. You never know. Snagged.
  12. Hey Phil. Thanks for the forum and all the work you do to keep us guys entertained and informed that are far away from trout town. Thinking of coming down Thursday and Friday and was wondering about generation. I know it's not a sure thing but what do you think they'll run this week? I don't have a boat and want to wade. I look at the real time generation chart but haven't paid enough attention to get the pattern if there is one. Thanks. Snagged in outlet 3.
