  1. My best day on the fork produced 2 18" smallies on back to back casts from the same log in current. Had many 20+ fish days there years ago. It's sad that the meth heads make it scary now. Used to just park at the 47 bridge and walk forever downstream but now there's a 99% chance you come back to busted windows.
  2. Fished Simpson yesterday, from the looks of the debris on the ramp it had come up and back down a good 2-3' after the storms Saturday and was pretty dirty. Fished all the way around the entire lake flippig jigs into the insane amount of wood in that lake. Also threw spinnerbaits, flukes in the clearer water, senko's, frogs, buzzbaits, jerkbaits, warts....2 guys 5 hours and caught one dink on a senko. I had some good days with 20+ pound sacks on that lake 20 yrs ago.
  3. My favorite place to fish! Stayed for a month over the winter and slammed the trout, reds and flounder around Destin. In June I would just find the parks and start wading it is very effective. DOA shrimp on jig heads, flukes, small cranks, dead shrimp on bottom rigs are all good and the top water bite for trout and reds can be awesome. You might also hit the tail ens of the Pompano run in the surf in June it is worth a try. Careful it can be addictive...and make you quickly realize how little we have here to fish for. I second the Pensacola Fishing Forum, good group of guys...I'm same username there.
  4. Hmmm that water in your livewell looks pretty clear...
  5. Went to Hummingbird huh?
  6. 20+ bass yesterday with a few decent ones.
  7. Fished Kinkaid yesterday. It fished more like mid April than mid March. Bass were shallow and wanted fast baits. Were hitting spinner baits burned under the surface but bites were few and far between, never caught more than two off any one spot. The lake is a mess, as muddy as I have ever seen it with debris floating in areas, had what seemed like 2" of heavy rain between 1 and 4 yesterday there were tons of waterfalls coming in. Found water from 49 to 60 degrees.
  8. You obviously haven't spent much time fishing for redfish or spotted trout. Both of them are very similar to bass fishing, with potential for a much better reward. This girl hit a rogue in January.
  9. Spent the month of January down there, fishing was fantastic. Good enough I'm considering a permanent move, fishing in the Midwest simply does not even compare not for size, species, numbers and definitely not for table fare! Trigger is my new favorite fish to eat with spotted trout a close second. I posted some pics on PFF of a 28"+ speck I caught in Jan and I was hooked.
  10. You should consider hiring a guide and floating the Wind River Canyon!
  11. Nice smallie!
