  1. We hit the lake around 6:45 and went straight to a big cove heading towards Big M. We went about half way back and started with TW. We started getting swipes right away and started off pretty good with 12- 14 inchers. After that cove we hit a dry spell for a while. We thought the TW was done and stated throwing other stuff. We went back to TW and stated getting swipes and catching one here and there. We finished with around 15 fish. 3 keepers but, nothing special. I did catch 2 small mouth. Oh, and my buddy slapped at a snake and ended up catching him (Oh, crap) luckily we ended up killing him and cutting off his head then he could unwrap the snake off his lure that was catching fish. Then later he caught a turtle. Both first times for me. Good luck everyone!
  2. Thanks for sharing Bill.
  3. Quill, I would like to join. I can see from the list that some are fishing with others while many seem to be on their own right? I just am just making sure it is ok to fish alone or should I join up with others? Let me know. I might talk a buddy into joining the forum and seeing if he can fish but, he usually cannot fish on Saturdays. Carl
  4. I will get some pics next time Johnsfolly. I usually take pics but, I kept thinking i would get something better and never got one good one. Carl
  5. Good report! I launched out of Eagle Rock this morning with a buddy around 9:30. We hit main lake points around coves and pockets. I started with Shakey Head and was catching some. I tried a jig but never could hook one up but did have a few bites. That tends to happen to me with the jig. I am still learning to fish them. We moved up and fished inside the Roaring River Arm and caught a few. Same drill, shakey head. Then moved down towards Big M and hit small coves. We did go down a larger one and my buddy started catching them on an underspin. He caught 4 in about an hour as we moved down the bank. We finished with I think 12 or 13. 1 keeper. Beautiful day on the water. I would have caught more if I would have focused on the shakey head but I kept trying the jig. Thanks for all the reports it definitely puts me on fish faster. Warmest temp we saw was 61 towards the end of the day.

  7. Bill, can I ask you a dumb question? How do you recognize spawning pockets or hat is a spawning cove? How do I find those places? Thanks

  12. Put in around 7 am this morning and started with the Ned with the slick conditions. Great day on the lake with lots of boats out today. I caught 12 mostly on the Ned. I did catch one shakey head fish, one Rock Crawler, and one on a drop shot. I had 2 keepers but, nothing special. Great day. Hope this helps some.
